Mystical Snow

I didn’t realize how early on they started talking about the warriors. But man, I really feel for Reiner and the “traitors.” They didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Rewatching the series is so interesting bc there are SO many implications and foreshadowing seeded out at this point in the story that it’s insane.

As someone who has finished and is rewatching with you guys this episode was so meta

Reiner is definitely my favorite character in AOT. Just the amount of depth in his thoughts and emotions as a character

2024-01-23 14:07:43 This will contain heavy spoilers so here's your warning. Having finished the entire anime, all I can say is that everything just hurts a hundred times more seeing this a second time knowing what i know. Reiner and Bertholdt, along with some of the other Warriors, are some of my favorite characters. Yes they did awful things but war is never pretty. They didn't act out of vengeance or hatred. They acted based on military orders given to them as literal children (Reiner was 14 when they were sent out on their mission.) Yes Eren has the right to be torn over his mother's death, but i still stayed on Reiner's side through the entirety of the anime. Something always seemed off. Something always felt wrong. I always knew there was more to the world and more to the Warriors and titan than what we saw early on, and learning about all of it, having watched the whole thing, and coming back to it, I can honestly say, i believe so much of what happens later could have been avoided if Eren had heard them out when Reiner first tried telling Eren about what they were doing. Communication can go a long way. This entire anime is just pain.

Regarding the “hometown”, Beast Titan and Eren’s family like the basement and more, that will take a while to get there… By the way.. Nobody can shoot a beam from their mouth as PD asked during the fight between Eren and Reiner. Reiner as a personality is a really interesting topic to talk about. Basically even now we can say his mind is fucked up, but later on you will find out it is even worse. Regarding Beast Titan: I was actually thinking during this time watching it: “Why didn’t he help them?” Because he is on their side. But it is more like he has his own agenda. So he just helped, but went back to the things he was interested in the first place
