Content

Hey guys full transparency, just had to spend a lot of time dealing with some personal commitments and couldn't work on my solo filming for the bg content! I am so tired and I'm trying not to stay up and do my body harm.

I will wake up tomorrow bright & early, jump on it asap. and keep you guys posted!

In efforts to be a better leader, I've been doing some thinking: For how I have to live life post-COVID where my constant attention is needed and things are ever changing (especially with a move) I think I have to make it clear that I can't commit super hard to certain dates for videos anymore. I'll do my best to get videos out day of or after but please understand that as I become busier, I'm gonna have to be a bit more flexible with my times; especially with travel becoming necessary.

As long as y'all are OK with that and we're in agreement that you'll always get the content (at WORST the end of the month but as I said we'll be doing our best to be on time)  and we'll be in constant communication; I can keep up filming more regularly and freely!

Thank you for the update PD. But I was wondering about AOT.. on the calendar it says that you’re releasing ep 32-34 this Friday but you’ve only watched/uploaded ep 29 for last week Autumn Tier. Just wanted to know if there was an error in the calendar?

km

at this point i think that’s the only option that you can be consistent with. especially considering the december schedule was already reworked and still isn’t being stuck to (get you have a reason tho). so i think that giving hard dates is obviously not feasible with this channel

km

the only thing i will say though is that not having specific deadlines might make getting through promised content more difficult. if it’s pushed out you might have more content that will need to be filmed all at once. for example: if bg content is pushed tomorrow then that needs to be filmed alongside gg content i’m assuming. just something to consider if you want to have more flexible deadlines

aileen

Thanks for this update PD! Yours and Blaire's health is most important, especially during this period of time with moving and the pregnancy. I love that you have made this commitment to take care of yourself more bc I honestly think it'll ultimately lead to a more structured and streamlined process of filming and posting and you'll hopefully be much more comfortable and content doing so! 😊🫶🏻

emma

I think that’s fair and something the rest of us are already prepared for. My only question is will we be allowed any refunds provided you don’t release content you say you will (I’m not talking about one or two contents, but a good amount)? Or if possible, instead of releasing at the end of the month, can you release at the beginning? Because if you release at the end, that pretty much means we paid an entire month for no reason and would have to continue the subscription just to watch what was promised throughout the month.

Anonymous

Have you ever considered so let's say you have a week and you say this is everything posted in that one week and you can post that content any time during the week. That way we know to expect specific content in that week I think could be more flexible is you have a bad day and can't film for some reason.

km

honestly think this would be a good idea. having sunday be the hard deadline for content but all promised content can come out anytime during the week. I think this plus less promised content would be a good mix. Truth be told i think having no hard deadline is a bad idea because the chances of filming being pushed to last minute and then not being done becomes greater

feli

I’m pretty sure we’re okay with anything as long as theres some form of communication about what to expect, even if its just “heres what I’ve planned to get out this month and it will be released when I get to it.” Life is crazy these days and many other creators have struggled with schedules with far less on it then yours. I definitely agree that a looser schedule may be better for you. Definitely much healthier when you’re already juggling so much. Take care of yourselves <3

Liv

I think having this flexibility will be the best and healthiest outcome for the Form of Therapy side and for the viewers!!

Peikoririn

Honestly pd with the last paragraph “as long as y’all are okay with in and in agreement” part.. I don’t think us patrons have much of a choice nor actual say in it, so atp I just hope we actually get the content this month. Thanks for the update and looking forward to what’s being released!

ian

I definitely think a pool of content for the month is better than a schedule. As there are days bound to come, like recent, where you're busier than normal you can either film one or none of the content and on your free days you can binge however much you can. It's less stress on you each day and doesn't leave expectations for each day

ian

I'm a content manager for big content creators so if you ever want to talk more I'm always open for it!

aki

Since the schedule's going to be more flexible, as a suggestion, instead of billing every start of the month, maybe change the billing setup so it would depend when one joins (so say if one joins on the 10th, the next bill would be the 10th of next month). I think it allows flexibility for both you and the patrons as well (we can join midmonth and we won't be pressed for time to immediately watch if uploads are pushed back at the end of the month since the next bill would be the next midmonth). Just a thought. I'm not sure if this makes sense. 😅

Aiz

I didn't catch it at first either but ep 30-31 are on the schedule for Tuesday the 20th!

Sami Casingal

I agree with what everyone is saying and I totally understand becoming busier and having these big shifts in your life. Though I don’t spend my time as the reactor behind the camera, I still spend my time watching whatever the content is that the reactors I like and follow post. So in a sense, I and I bet everyone else have had to schedule when to watch things. I’ve learned flexibility in this regard is key because I know I can’t get to everything in a day or two and the unknowns and uncertainty are a big part of life. Navigating through that is important (though I’m one to talk because I have to work on that too lol). I think PD you should hold a similar mindset so you don’t overwork or stress yourself out too much but still hold up the end of the deal with patrons. I don’t mind the alternatives everyone is putting out so long as it gets to us in whatever month you planned it for because although I can tolerate going several weeks within a month without content, I cannot for months completely without content (especially if you say you will film and release so and so during so and so). You have to realize (and you probably do) not all of us are full adults out in the world with a full time job. I’ve said this plenty times before, but I’m merely just a student with just one part time job (breaks are a given because it’s school so I’m not working all the time) and paying for the autumn tier along with like 5 or more other patreon reactors with my OWN money. Just like you nor anyone else is made of money, I’m not either but I still pay because I think it’s worth it and watching videos and whatnot is the equivalent of peace and happiness for me as well as a way to escape reality (especially when things get tough). Still though, I appreciate that you’re still attempting to do all this for us even if it’s no longer smooth or easy

珍珠milktea

I always thought that wasnt an option in patreon, but thats the best option I feel

aki

I think they added that option a while back? Iirc some of my other patreon subs are using that method. 🤔

h

i also agree but i can understand if pd doesn't want to change to that system since it affects how much they receive at the end of the month & if you've got people/things to pay which are timetabled around payday it may be hard on their end financially to sort everything out. just putting this out there so people can understand why it may not be an option!

A36

I don’t actually have an issue with flexibility in terms of dates and especially if you’re communicating that to us - but my only thing is that I find the tier system expensive considering we don’t always get the content we expect to for that price. It’s a lot of money for the month (autumn tier), although I know it’s my own prerogative to pay or not pay that. I saw someone comment that you could try a weekly system, where a certain amount of content is due for a week and the hard deadline would be the Sunday, but the videos could go out at any point during those 7 days. I think that would be the best balance for us patrons and for you, but that’s just my opinion. Ultimately I hope you and Blaire are healthy and happy!

twomillionmerits

i think this is the best way. from what i've seen your patrons and empathetic and understanding but its get frustrating when you're given a month of set dates for release and you barely get any of the content promised. this is not meant to be a slight against you and blaire, you both have busy lives right now with personal commitments but in that case i'd prefer a more relaxed model in the coming months. something more like "here are the groups and types of content i'm trying to get around to" at the top of the week. i know PD themselves have said they tend to overpromise and realize its too much but its felt more consistent lately. i thank you guys for all the content and hard work but personally as we hit the end of the year i felt a little disappointed as a patron. i hope a model change works for all of us!!! stay safe and healthy y'all.

Isabella

It's ok PD as long as you post everything that is scheduled for this month, i don't have an issue with the delays or greater flexibility. I just think that you should analyze the tier system, a lot of people have been saying for months that it's too expensive (incluiding me) considering we don't always receive the content we expect to for that price (autumn tier and even summer) I think you should make some adjustments to the price or try other tactics to make it fair for everyone (maybe try weekly like I saw in A36's comment) especially since you and Blaire have busy lives and lots of unexpected commitments also i know it's my decision whether to pay or not, I honestly feel like it would be better for everyone. Thank you for communicating, stay safe and healthy!

kpoppie

did not know you can CHOOSE the billing set up but I AGREE WITH THIS

mm

It has always been the overpromising and watching you overwork yourself that made this Patreon a very frustrating experience, not the lack of content itself. So yes, slow down take care of yourself, Blaire and your baby! But please, for the love of god, stop making unrealistic schedules and promises at the beginning of every single month. Anticipate that live and health will be happening (because that always happens, for every one of us) and don't base your schedules on your most productive day of the month. That's a set up for failure you've been doing for month and years now.

emma

I have another idea (sorry for making another comment). What if you create your schedules but it stays private to you at first. Then you film reactions throughout the month according to the schedule you created, post the FINAL schedule of what you have already recorded at the beginning of the next month, and drop everything according to the public and final schedule. This prevents over-promising and means everything has already been filmed so all you have to do is post it to fulfill your promises. This sets YOU up for success and fulfills your end of the trade. This also prevents us from paying for something that was promised and waiting for ages and many times even not getting it.

km

i think this would be a really good idea so we’re only promised content that will actually be released. i think if pd does this they would have to film everything for the next month the month before so they can inform ppl what will be dropping before patrons pay for the month!

km

since people are adding suggestions i would also say this: while i can 100% see how a rigid schedule makes things more difficult, i think timing is only one of the smaller problems. I mentioned this in the chat area, but you need to slash your workload in half. One of the reasons these content drops hardly happen on time is also because you have so much to film. I know you are a people pleaser (you’ve said so yourself) but this patreon will never succeed if you don’t cut down the content. I think it would be helpful to look at analytics if you can and go from there. Maybe you get rid of drama club or anime club and only focus on kpop. I also think you need to stop putting out bonus drops for the time being. When we got the updated december schedule there were more promised bonus drops and frankly the chances of them being released are slim. Last week we were promised a bunch of dino bonus drops bc the bg content was late and we still haven’t gotten it. So while i do think not having super hard deadlines will be helpful, I think the amount of content is the bigger issue. I have very little doubts that a rigid weekly schedule would be possible if you took on half the workload. I know it’s not easy, especially because you are a kpop fan who loves a lot of groups, but i think being realistic about what you can actually achieve is more important right now. You also have a lot of passion projects you want to start that will just add to an already unstable workload if you don’t cut stuff out. Just something to consider

Cherry

I think, and I don’t mean to sound mean, that it would benefit you to consider lessening the amount of drama and anime you record. I’m not sure about the others but I got onto your Patreon to hear your thoughts about kpop and kpop content. And it’s not being met, and it’s sort of frustrating to see anime and dramas continue to be uploaded as if you were advertising that your channel was a plain react channel instead of focused on kpop? Because I think that’s why most of us are here.

Isabella

umm i get your point but maybe reduce an amount but removing it all doesn't make sense since it's with these contents that his patreon is worth paying for, if that happens the autumn and summer tier will cease to exist because one is about an early acess drama and anime and the other is about bonus drops I believe that he doesn't want that idk

km

Yeah i mean at the end of the day though the amount of content isn’t manageable. I definitely wouldn’t want to him to get rid of the other contents if he doesn’t have to, it was just a suggestion. I think if they can figure out a way to scale back on content without getting rid of the different categories that is more important. In terms of bonus drops- it’s moreso that fact that pd puts them in as apologies for not getting already scheduled content out on time. I would say almost every other week were told we’ll get bonus drops and then not only do we not get them, we don’t even get the scheduled content. I definitely don’t want drama club or bonus drops to be taken away, but it’s obvious they can’t manage so many different types of content

km

i think so many people are frustrated because this happens weekly atp. we’ve given him time to organize himself over and over again. a lot of us are just over paying $10+ a month to be met with the same disorganization

km

and in terms of tiers not making sense if things were scaled back- he would just have to reorganize the tiers. things have to cost a certain amount to pay for bandwidth and what not but he could possibly make a tier just for listening parties and mv reactions and then another that would be for those + variety. considering the mv reactions hardly get posted on time to youtube it could be an early reaction tier. again not saying i want drama club or anime club to go away if it doesn’t have to, but things need to be prioritized and it seems like a lot of the patrons are here for kpop and occasional drama reactions

emma

Yeah and I don’t mind at all waiting a full month so he can switch to this routine if it means getting a consistently followed schedule

leah

personally i am ok with the drama contents but i totally agree with the anime cause it literally has nothing in relation with the k contents

emma

I think the issue is plenty of us have given him more than enough time and chances to organize himself. It seems at least once a month, he will not drop anything for days and come back with a “refreshed” motivation, some epiphany, and new promises which don’t end up being stuck to. I LOVE his reactions, but I think it’s totally fair to express frustration. I don’t think any of the opinions and suggestions people dropped have been too aggressively negative or unfair. I think people just want consistency, even at the expense of much less content.

Tyro Klaase

I feel like im never going to get the content I paid for. For the amount I pay for the autumn tier ,the amount of promised content I receive is severely lacking. It is so disappointing because I genuinely enjoy pd and blaire's reactions. Half the videos links don't work anymore, so I cant even go back and look at old content. All I know is that the tiers are extremely overpriced for the service we've been experiencing for the last few years. In the past I would still have hope that things would get better and it has not. Maybe we should all accept that all we'll get are empty promises again and again and our complaints are falling on deaf ears.

Rach

I think the main thing is that this has been an ongoing issue not even just recently but since last year especially. One of their biggest promises was that content would not be delayed and would be given when promised, (obviously with exception) and that they wanted to treat Patreon like a business, but it's happened so frequently to this day and no matter how often we say: "Cut back, you're spreading yourself too thin" or "This doesn't look manageable" the same problems continue to repeat and patrons are left not getting what was promised. And it's not that we aren't understanding but it gets aggravating when it's the same problems every time. This kind of thing happens like three times a month lately, sometimes more. This is people's hard earned money and it often feels like it's not being respected.

h.

i think the tiers should be cheaper. we are paying WAY MORE than we should be for inconsistent content. ive been a patron for so many years now and nothing has changed over the years. i enjoy your content and only subbed to autumn tier bc i wanted the aot eps even though autumn tier isnt even ahead by a lot. overall, i think you guys should seriously look into changing your way of doing things immediately . or you can keep doing this and lose patrons, my friends left bc of this issue. you should probably lower your prices or only have one tier for until you are able to meet your promises and not disappoint us anymore. i really enjoy your vids and i dont mean to be rude but this is very upsetting. i always look forward to certain videos only to see that it never was posted. please consider us patrons.

Aigoo

Totally agree, the combination of lack of communication, constant delays( whether there is a genuine reason or not), and older content constantly becoming unavailable is just a disaster for this Patreon. Again this isn’t meant to spread hate or anything but I think most of the patreons are pretty fed up by now.

kasey

i really do not think the tiers should be this much when this is what we get out of it… like i understand things get out of hand but at the same time, all your patreons are spending their OWN money to support all the promises you make… idk. i even asked for a refund because links just don’t work and the small window of time where i had a break from academics and health related things to actually relax and react to things promised from the schedule is now over. again, i know things happen but at this time it’s like it’s every month with the same cycle. wishing you both the best and hope things change for the better

Kiki

I think everyone understands that life circumstances and dealing with mental health can all make it difficult to fulfill the promises of content you made. I know you do your best to put out a variety of content to please a maximum amount of people but I hope you can understand how considering you increased the tier prices, the disorganisation and lack of consistency is frustrating. The best idea I've seen so far is to get a month ahead in filming and only post the schedule for what you have filmed. Maybe that or another idea can help you get back on track!

Chrome

So what will be done about the delay this time? Another empty promise added to the tally. I thought it made sense to film scheduled content a week, at least, prior but I guess it's not as sensible. Neither is up charging memberships for less content/quality or close to none at all per month. "Bright and early tomorrow...and keep you guys posted" It's almost 3 pm in the west coast, 6 pm over here.

Chrome

You can argue that this is something that we can simply walk away from but there needs to be accountability. This is what YOU yourself called a business so it's safe to assume it should be handled as such.

Anonymous

i really love you and blaires reactions. i mostly watch drama and anime and a little bit of kpop reactions but this is getting really frustrating as a patron. the schedule formatting changes every month. theres posting delays every week. it’s been like this for a really long time. i’ve been seriously considering canceling my membership because it’s a lot of money to be paying for how many inconsistencies there are. i have a similar content schedule for my job so i understand how easy it is to get behind. as a suggestion maybe you should record a month in advance, then once you have all your content for the month solidified, then post the schedule. or only have a few things that are definite and scheduled and everything else just gets posted when you can get to it. or lower the tier prices. again love your content. You and Blaire, take care of yourselves. congrats on the baby. have a happy holiday too (if you celebrate)

nins

So you have roughly 5.5k paid patreon subscribers, who (if we roughly estimate that they're mostly paying the $10 fee since we don't have exact figures for each level) gives you a pay out (after a 60% deduction for patreon fees, pay out fees, taxes, video platform costs, etc. (this is a rough, high percentage rate for all the fees and you might honestly be paying less)) $22,000 a month. If we look at your work, the consistency, constant issues, moving, etc. it makes no sense to think that we, as a collective, are getting our moneys worth. I know you have a passion for making videos and kpop culture in general, but I really wish you would treat this like a job moreso than you have, specifically one that is paying you $22,000 a month. While being a content creator is hard, it is a luxury to have that job. Not having to constantly commute, not having to deal with awful coworkers, not having to handle a horrible boss, etc., in general it is a privileged profession compared to other jobs. I might be seeing this from a different standpoint from others because I'm a grown adult who also suffers from mental health issues, and have had to navigate the work world for several years, but I'm a little astonished at everything, hence why I'm being harsh. Realistically, uploading at least two hours worth of content a day, which is reaction based and simple editing, should be achievable. If you compare that work, which might take 5 hours a day total after reacting and editing and uploading, then you still are working less than an average 8 hour work day. While you should have passion for your work, and shouldn't force yourself, that doesn't mean we, your viewers, have to settle for substandard consistency, communication errors, high prices, etc. You don't have to upload videos, but we also don't have to support you because of these constant issues. It's a two way relationship that I feel you've been taking for granted. I wish you all the best, and hope everything goes smoothly with the baby, but I will no longer support you. Good luck PD.

Dan

Hi Could we please get an update?

Yanan

Idk how PD can create a team to help him with Patreon if he can’t even film and release videos on time. At least there’s more communication but this is a weekly occurrence that can’t rlly be tolerated anymore

Peikoririn

THIS. I am so tired of the sudden motivated quotes and peppy paragraphs that fall short in a week. I subbed this month after un subbing 1-2 months ago and I regret it so much :/

Anonymous

This may seem drastic, but might I suggest a pregnancy hiatus from Patreon? Your health and Blaire’s health are of the upmost importance during this time, and honestly, there won’t ever be more time to gain (and rightfully so) as you become parents. There will be so many new experiences you won’t want to miss and new challenges to face together that I’d really stress cutting back now and focusing on long-term sustainable solutions (many of which have already been posted in this thread) for your family and your brand. It seems like a great time to invest back in YouTube channel growth and honing in on gaining sponsorships, partnerships, and other opportunities that will empower your other production/professional goals in the long run. It’s true that you ARE one of the best reactors out there, and there’s so much potential. You fill a gap in the current reactor market that has yet to be replicated, if ever. While I love being a patron, I would love to see you win personally and professionally in a healthy way much more. By shifting focus and keeping this open as an archive and maybe more of a behind-the-scenes/raw reactions space (justifying a subscription due to the volume that’s already here) until you feel comfortable with a full content stack once again (if at all - totally up to you, we never know what the future holds). Obviously, this is just one person’s opinion and there’s so much to consider. Sending the best to you both!

Ra Oro

I really think you have run out of excuses at this point for lack of content flow. We have stood by in support but come on, get it together please!

Sami Casingal

I disagree. Sure it’s an unpopular opinion but the minority opinion is never really paid attention to. I came here for both equally. In the beginning it was mainly for kpop just because that was emphasized more on this channel so there wasn’t as much drama/anime as there is now, but now that they’re emphasizing dramas/anime a bit more than in the past, I’m happy. I’m a kpop, drama, and anime nerd. I’m the whole package and i don’t have many reactors I follow that do all 3, so this is a blessing for me. Plus I’m solely a boy group stan, so if it were more kpop, I’d only have some boy group content of my favorite groups they react to with only 2 dramas/anime as you say. But with this, instead of already having less to watch because I don’t stan girl groups, the gap that girl groups leave for me is switched with more drama and anime which like I said I love. Im paying autumn tier, not that it really matters to y’all with this majority opinion and not that it’s solely about me, but I wanted to get my opinion out here too

blue

I hope you guys are alright and we do not want to look too demanding but the frequent inconsistencies and empty promises are also getting frustrating on our part :((

Anonymous

Still just my opinion, but it would be to PD’s benefit to do a hard reset anyways. Taking a real hiatus will help break the cycle PD and the patrons are in now. Once the initial guilt and pressure of not posting constantly here subsides, PD can private the channel and work on fixing the archive or finding a different hosting platform, test out a more sustainable schedule (and try it out with no expectations on YouTube first), really hone in on what kind of content gives PD energy versus draining it, and THEN relaunch the Patreon. I know I would miss variety reactions a ton during that time, but think it would be worth the wait. Sometimes you need to take on a short term loss to achieve a long term gain.

leah

“Tomorrow”🙄

Thabit Ayob

No, i am honestly only paying to get the anime content. I just watch drama content from time to time. And i have absolutely no interest in the kpop groups except very rarely. I ahve been requesting onyl one artist dpr ian since last year and nothing.

kasey

me when i lie 😔

blue

again :(( I hope there would be at least new videos before December ends so its not a total waste

Mvtiny8

i lowkey want a refund atp
