My heart literally just swelled seeing this notification, I love haikyuu sm it hurts and glad to have your reactions 💕

Liv

Having haikyuu back in my life has made me go back to starting the manga again and the way I’ve been feeling so much better right away

Liv

Yes yes we know tsukki is a petty bitch and we all love him for it !!!

Liv

Never stop making the K-pop comparisons bc 1. They’re so insightful and 2. US FANS HAVE BEEN MAKING THEM SINCE HAIKYUU CAME OUT WE ARE ALREADY ON THE SAME PAGE ABOUT THIS TRUST!!

Otto

Omg these are in the firsts episodes (I already watched it all), we have a long way to go, but very exciting anime!!!

Kim

Tsukki is one of my favorite characters in any media I’ve consumed.

Mel

The discussion at the end is the reason why a lot of us love Haikyuu even if we don’t have experience in volleyball or any competitive sports whatsoever. It touches your heartstrings and brings back a part of you that you may have lost along the way while growing up and stepping into the society. There are only two types of human beings in this world, the ones who love Haikyuu, and the ones who haven’t watch Haikyuu.

I agree with PD on his haikyu take. As someone who grew up playing volleyball, I appreciate how accurate the game play is to volleyball in real life. But i feel like for haikyu, the main focus of the show isn't just volleyball, but it actually the characters themselves. Won't say too much now because it might be spoilers but I just freaking love this show.

Haikyuu is all about pursuing your best self even when the world tells you no, and bringing everyone around you up with you. Every character on this show has their own goals, their own journey, their own dreams, and they're all fighting to find that version of themselves they're satisfied with. It sounds like now is a great time for you to be watching this show PD! I'm really glad you guys are resonating so well with the cast and themes of the show so quickly, the show definitely comes in a bit slow and character focused, but it's so good for the character arcs and relationships they're setting up. Also because you mentioned it, this show is pretty realistic from what I understand! The creator of the manga played volleyball in his youth and many professional volleyball players and coaches have pointed out that they've done a really good job at portraying the muscles and movements these players would be using to execute the technique, among many other large and small details that are true to the experience. Obviously timing and stuff is artistic liberty to keep it exciting, but volleyball players are crazy athletic and can pull of some stuff that seems so fast and powerful to people with no experience.

many volleyball players who have watched this anime say that all the tricks the characters use can be performed in real life. that's why i love this anime so much because the characters don't have to have any magical superpowers they only by using their bodies, training and teamwork did they become better

Serena

oh if u already love tsukishima now hes gonna become one of ur faves later on

beannieswife

commentary was so beautiful today, i have nothing else to say! and that's a way to sell a group pd, i've heard only one &team song (because of you lol) and now you made me want to dive into them🧍lmao. i'm so excited for future episodes! and i feel like binge watches will be very much needed with haikyuu, when you get to the actual matches you can't help yourself but press next episode lol😭

Mystical Snow

This show is so steeped in reality and that makes these characters feel so authentic and real. Haikyuu has one of the most diverse cast of characters. Like, all the characters are so unique from one another and add so much value to the story.

Haruka

Japanese volleyball players use these techniques actually, it's so fun to watch national matches :D

tamkan

can't wait for the haikyuu binge omg

tamkan

yesssss ishikawa my man lol i'm watching some italy league matches for the jap players too XD

Ira Ramirez

based on your discussion: ‘turning luck (and effort!!) into skill’ you are going to absolutely love the later arcs (and certain characters👀) of this show. the psychological aspects of winning and losing, ‘talent’ vs ‘effort’ are supremely explored in this show and manga and I can’t wait for you to experience it

Emily

Oh you’re absolutely going to love Oikawa 🤭🤭

Emily

Also, just want to put it out there that I associate Hinata with two idols: Dino and zb1 Matthew. Dino for the reason you spoke about at the end, and Matthew because of his determination optimism and perseverance- we all know he went through a rough period prior to Boys Planet and I think he’s a lot like Hinata in that way.

Natalia H

Hinata takes life with a very "no regrets" approach, but he's not aware of it until much later on. But all the while, it's a very interesting journey for him. The whole of haikyuu is a slice-of-life report on nature versus nurture.
