Taking drama club suggestions!

Last year on Halloween we did a "scary" drama club week and binged several new dramas. We're bringing that back but this time for December and January!

There have been long standing suggestions for a while and it's time we finally put them to rest! I'll be taking suggestions and then enlisting a poll to determine which shows people want to see the most! 

Uncanny Encounter, My Mister, Mouse, and Sky Castle are all dramas I remember but perhaps there are newer and even more exciting shows? Or perhaps a healing show appropriate for December?

I want to make December special marking my move to LA and starting a new chapter in my life and make the reactions special, so all suggestions are welcome!

Polls will be issued at a later time and I'll let you all know my list the moment I decide it! (in case there's a huge public outcry against it :P)

Please watch My Mister. I know it came out 2-3 years back but trust me its such a good healing drama to watch. Even Paulo Coelho, writer of 'The Alchemist' praised the drama.

Reply 1988! A classic and something different from what dramas we've watched together so far. It's long but I'd say worth the watch. A wholesome drama with its share of heavy moments that I'd say most of us have or will experience at some point in our lives.

Revenant is a great spooky show that has Kim Tae-ri as the main actress whom I know you love, Oh Jung-se who played the brother in Its ok not to be ok, and Hong Kyung who played Beom-seok in weak hero class

Also...for more fun suggestions: Twinkling Watermelon (it has Choi Hyunwook from Weak Hero in it) Business Proposal (Very light and fun.) Bloodhounds (Does get a bit darker at times, but it has become one of my comfort shows) The Uncanny Counter (very fun, but also some serious moments) Bad and Crazy (so fun!) Doom at your Service (sad at times, but overall very enjoyable) Love to hate you (one of the funniest dramas i've watched this year) My top pick is probably still TOMORROW tho. Most of these are on Netflix.

There's a new drama from the creators of Penthouse called Escape of The 7. Highly recommended!! + Twinkling Watermelon is fun too, it's like youthful?? But it's a good show to watch. + And ofc, The Uncanny Counter (both seasons)! I personally prefer season 2 than season 1 but both are just amazing!

There is a drama that was directed by the directors of the penthouse and it is ridiculous & soo good ,they are also some actors who were in the penthouse that you would definitely recognize i definitely would rewatch it with you. i strongly recommend. and honestly watching this during halloween time is NOT a bad idea.....

TOMORROW is definitely a really good one, especially for December healing content - It's such a comfort show it's not too long either and every episode is so impactful, it also stars ROWOON from SF9 as the main lead

Tomorrow (tackles a lot of serious issues) One Ordinary Day (pretty dark) Big Mouth (pretty dark) Happiness (more on the lighter side, but also has a lot of dark moments) Taxi Driver (not really spooky or dark and twisty, but...still a goof recommendation) Mouse (i haven't watched it yet, but i would love to watch it with you guys. And i feel like it fits the vibe)

Definitely MOVING!!!!! You can find it on Disney+ There's everything in this drama, a lot of suspense, family, healing, action and the cinematography is incredible!!!!! You can see that they paid attention to the smallest details

I don't know if you are interested in watching bl, but if you are I really recommend The Eighth Sense. One of the best shows I have ever watched, it's incredible and very interesting. And for shits and giggles - Roommates of Poongduck Villa 304 - the Kim Jiwoong drama.

I would really love it if you watched Beyond Evil! The writing and filming are absolutely excellent and I think you and Blair would have so much to talk about. I also think you would love Taxi Driver too.

my recommendations are (as always) bloodhounds its very short 8 episodes!! and i also really enjoyed big mouth (i think its available on hulu) and as for comforting dramas i recommend while you were sleeping weightlifting fairy kim bok joo business proposal at a distance spring is green and id recommend moonlovers scarlet heart ryeo... now this drama while it can be comforting its a bit mysterious, funny, cute and sad.. IU and lee joonki did an incredible job

beyond evil is the best kdrama i have ever watched! small town murder mystery with two insane leads of ambiguous morality who you won't know who trust. happiness for a zombie drama focused on people!

I just saw that other people were recommending Beyond Evil and for some reason I thought you had already watched it?? But Beyond Evil is so good, I don't think I've ever been more tense (in a good way) watching a drama and I watched all three seasons of The Penthouse in 5 days. Plus the chemistry between the two leads for this show is insane.

A more cute romance show i would recommend is My Lovely Liar. It stars Hwang Minhyun as the lead alongside Kim Sohyun. i just find this show soo lovely. ofc i have some critics about some parts but overall i really enjoyed the sweetness between the leads and it’s a more laidback plot. Seeing Minhyun in this after Alchemy was very refreshing. Also love Sohyun as a lead.

Big Mouth and Twinkling Watermelon (for healing) would be ABSOLUTELY amazing to watch with you two. I said it before and i'm gonna say it again; for J-Drama Kamisama no Ekohiiki (for healing) and Pending Train are amazing. MUST watch.

My last discovery : Arthdal Chronicles. Epic fantastic historical drama, with the man lead of Vincenzo.

Mouse 100%, it's a crime/thriller. Amazing writing, cast, directing. I'ts never boring and scary in a "I can't believe this is happening", way. 10/10 in my books, I will never stop recommending this drama.

As for more healinig shows I would recommend (synopsis included) 1. Because this is my first life (starring Jung So Min the female lead in Alchemy of Souls S1). I found this drama very calming, especially the offial soundtrack and the main characters narration. The songs from this show are all on my playlist - To save money, two housemates get married but soon face unexpected complications, such as demanding in-laws and having to face their own growing bond. 2. Our Blues, this drama takes you through the lives of a group of friends/family that live in Jeju, the choices they make and how it affects the people close to them. I really liked this drama I still think about it from time to time. Official synopsis - Romance is sweet and bitter -- and life is riddled with ups and downs -- in multiple stories about people who live and work on bustling Jeju Island.

I really hope PD and Blaire check out Twinkling Watermelon since Choi Hyun Wook is also in it :) Although the production company is Pan Entertainment, it was in collaboration with Studio Dragon (the were the developers). Another drama I hope they check out is My Lovely Liar with Hwang Min Hyun. It is the same situation; Studio Dragon is the developer but Big Ocean ENM and Supermoon Pictures were in charge of the production.
