Yesss! I might be wrong! I follow NewJeans, and they teased in a phoning live they were working on a choreo, I hoooope it' s a GODS choreo or performance video, would be insane.... but it's just a theory!

I was never really into esports, but this MV made me look into DEFT's story and I was really moved by it. The music and video is such an special homage to him and his journey

The anthem artist usually performs at the Worlds championship match, so I bet it'll be for that. I would be surprised if they didn't post at least a practice video.

The biggest thing of the video is not just highlighting Deft's story, but also it highlights the fact that he had to beat three of his ex-teammates plus Faker, who attended the same school as Deft, to win last year's World Championship. He played with EDG Meiko on EDG, plus GenG Doran and T1 Keria with a previous DRX roster. And in last year's Worlds, he had to beat EDG, GenG, and T1 to win the world championship, which kind of made it a whole lot cooler to think about.

Just today during the morning I watched an hour long video on Deft's story and I have to say that watching the video again knowing all the context makes it 500 times more emotional, I love it. Also I don't watch nor play LoL but I do LOVE all the music that gets produced for LoL (Kpop and nonKpop related), my K/DA is still playing on my lists on a daily, specially Villian 🙌

Omg (no pun intended) I am so excited for the le sserafim over watch song. I didn’t know about that until you said 😱 PD you should watch Kepler's Yeseo's cover of Suzume by radwimps ft. Toaka. It's a ost from an a japense film of the same name, and she sounds absolutely amazing. I found out about it yesterday and think it would be a great watch for you since we don’t get to hear her voice very well on Kep1er tracks

So here's the backstory (Sorry it's really long but it's such a beautiful Journey) : This video follows Kim-Hyuk-kyu (Player ID : Deft) who won the League of Legends World Championship with DRX last year. Him and another player went to the same high-school in Korea. This player is named Faker and is considered the goat of League of legends with 3 worlds title under his belt. They both have the same age and started to play League competitively at the same time. (2013) The first combat shows the difference between Deft and Faker career. Deft is fighting a blue buff while Faker is fighting the baron a much more powerful monster. Deft made his debut in a team called MVP Blue which was basically a low team in the LCK (Korean League) while Faker was already winning his first world title. Then in 2014, Deft and his team (Samsung Blue) got obliterated by their sister team (Samsung White) in the semi-finals at worlds. In the video Deft is losing to Pawn who was his former teammates in Samsung Blue. Then in 2015, Deft alongside Meiko in EDG lost to Fnatic in quarter-finals. (Skip in the video. During this period Deft : - 2016 : Lost to ROX in the quarterfinals (EDG) - 2017 : Did not qualify for Worlds (KT) - 2018 : Lost to IG in the quarterfinals (KT) - 2019 : Did not qualify for Worlds (KZ) 2020 was a devastating year for him, Deft’s team was composed of incredible skilled player individually and promising young talents (Doran, Psyosik, Chovy, Keria). But they lost against DWG. Keria the one who tried to protect him was his lane’s partner. They had a brotherly relationship with each other. Keria promised Deft to win him a World championship one day. But at the end of 2020 they parted ways, Deft was the one to encourage Keria to accept the T1 offer (Faker’s team) since it was such a big opportunity for Keria. In 2021 Deft injured his hand and everyone thought it was going to be the end of his career without ever winning a single world championship (He won others trophies but World is the most important and prestigious). But Deft decided to give himself a last shot in 2022. DRX in 2022 was considered at best mediocre. They barely scraped into Summer playoffs but they lost early and finished 6th (LCK has only 4 spots for worlds). Then they had only one last shot at the regional qualifiers. They had 2 grueling 5 game series to unexpectedly make it to Worlds. But nobody had any expectations for them at worlds. They breezed through Play-in against weaker team. In group stage they faced Europe best team and for some the second best Chinese team. Everyone thought they wouldn’t make it but they managed to top the group knocking off TES (Chinese team). It was unbelievable at the time. In the quarterfinals they were against EDG the former reigning champion and one of Deft’s former team. He played against Meiko and Scout two of his former teammates. DRX fell 0-2 in this series, 1 game away from elimination. Game 2 was particularly heartbreaking, Deft was hitting the opponents base but at the last hit he couldn’t end the game and they lost. It was a one million moment. It’s hard to explain but let’s just say that almost every team would have had their mental crushed by such a game. But DRX managed to turn around the series and won 3 games in a row. In the interview post-match they celebrated Deft’s birthday. He cried saying it’s the only happy birthday he got in 8 years since he would always lose in quarter-finals at worlds. Then they went against GENG. DRX got crushed by them in LCK 0-6 (2 BO5) but that was actually their easiest series. DRX won 3-1. Deft got to face Doran and Chovy also former teammates. (Doran is the one in the video) But even so they were still the heavy underdogs against T1 (Faker’s team). Everyone thought T1 was too high of a wall for them. In Game 3 DRX should have won but T1 stole 2 barons and won the game. Then Game 5 was extremely nerve-racking, while DRX had the lead T1 stole again a baron in a one thousand scenario. Everyone was scared of Game 3 repeating itself but DRX managed to win the game and lifted the world trophy. Keria truly gave Deft a World Championship but not the way he wanted. If anyone is interested in the 2022 DRX Run I recommend the Lol Esport documentary on the subject. (Sorry for my English, I’m not a native speaker)
