i don't know if you noticed but tape & tropical light are unit songs!! tape: hiyyih, hikaru, dayeon, chaehyun, mashiro tropical light: yeseo, youngeun, xiaoting, yujin

stylesniklaus

my only complain is hiyyih not getting lines again, and shiro too

stylesniklaus

ooooh and you should also watch lee mujin episode with hiyyih!!!

stylesniklaus

sorry for spamming but if you want to see more of kepi vocals you should do some bonus drop watching their cover playlist (8 videos) : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6Un-3FrXnaRMFfXSDeTtKAl6Xcrx6c7i

lol you complaining about the lack of consistency in wakeone's work as if wakeone had any staff left (this is, of course, an exaggeration, but sadly, not much of one) wakeone is severly understaffed and losing staff still, so it doesn't really surprise me that they fail so hard at staying consistent and just generally at promoting kep1er in the way they deserve I completely agree that kep1er SHINES at emotional, deep pop stuff, especially songs that feel nostalgic (I have cried multiple times to some of their b-sides, e.g. le voya9e, back to the city) and that they still haven't really made use of the insane potential in some of the members (like pls let hikaru and dayeon go off like we know they can)... I really really hope that wakeone gets their shit together and finally gives the girls what they really deserve

JJ

ALSO there have been rumours that kep1er's contracts might be extended, specifically that the respective companies have been in talks with wakeone... I'm not sure if I personally want this to happen or not because I just know kep1er as a group still hasn't reached their best yet (mostly because of wakeone's mismanagement) and I would love to see them do that as a group together, but I don't have much trust in wakeone so I fear they might actually be off better if they don't extend....I just don't know

JJ

also also (lol sorry), I highly recommend checking out the member's covers on their youtube channel, it is so good to hear them like that (even more so for the members that tend to get very few lines) I especially loved the chaehyun & hiyyih duett, it surprised me the. most I think (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFc15zQi1BI)

i think for me I still prefer the lovestruck album more as my favorite BUT I love this album too. Agree that this one feels very cohesive but I also thought lovestruck was too. I don't feel as frustrated as before since I think with this release it seems they finally found a direction for Kep1er (and yes apparently there was a change in their A&R beginning of this year) even if it's not the direction some want them to go. I know you will watch Chaehyun's Lee Mujin episode, but Kep1er has so many other great performances that you missed like all their KCON covers...they covered SNSD's Mr Mr recently, Blackpink's Shut Down, IZONE's La Vie en Rose and IOI's Very Very Very. If you got some time to spare for bonus drops for them those would be my recommendation

excellen

Also for me vocally is has been great to see Youngeun's evolution. The girl that in girls planet tought she couldn't even sing doing some of the high notes in love on lock with Chaehyun. I love how her tone is maturing. EDIT: OH and the girls did mention that love on lock has choreo....so maybe we will get a performance of that soon?

Hi PD! Maybe you can react to 'Truly' cover made by Bahiyyih and Chaehyun? Bahi sounds AMAZING there and it is nice to finally hear her voice fully since W1 tends to underuse her talent in Kep1er.

Joy

Later in that article it was stated that some companies have already denied the extensions. Only that WakeOne may try again since there is still time left so odds are slim to none.

Joy

The issue is WakeOne also sucks in general at promoting the girls as a group and individual with outside schedules and lines within their songs. They don’t use the rappers but then they randomly have the rappers have verses and then have them sing chorus after which leave 4 other girls without lines. It’s like their producer doesn’t know how to balance any of these lines out and it’s beyond frustrating. Hiyyih is still the queen of adlibs on this album and is ranked 9th for line distribution AGAIN throughout this whole album. It’s just a waste for her beautiful vocals to be used as a sound effect in the back. Also pd hiyyih was also on Lee Mujin (of course she was was the first guest to barely sing on the show [the irony]) but it was a really cute episode). She also has covers on Keplers YouTube channel!

Marly Barry

omg, anyone else did recommend you chaehyun’s and hiyyih’s collab cover. but i would love if you could watch hiyyih’s fall in love alone cover, her voice is so soothing it makes me mad how little wakeone give her https://youtu.be/EU03cg-rc0o?si=L8wdsZzuUcv4tGd6

Marly Barry

pd getting mad at wakeone is sooo real. every comeback we keep complaining about the same fucking stuff, AND THEY WON’T FUCKING LISTEN.

tamkan

Love on Lock is the bessst, Galileo was missing a rap section for me..

pmreez

WTF is up with Love on Lock NOT being the title!?!?!?!

Bina

PD has had the same fave songs for each kepi album as hiyyih. Both her and your tastes seem to really match lol. Pls if you ever deep dive into kep1er pls check out all their vocal covers so far, Chaehyun rightfully has most vocally showing off parts in their discography, but I can't just help feel so far w1 has wastes everyone's vocal capabilities every album, like we barely get glimpses of what kep1er members can do vocal wise. Also Hiyyih's vocal potential is crazy (like she has an official cover on kep1er's yt channel but she also has an unofficial one (it's on YouTube as a lyrics vid tho) where she covers TORI FREAKING KELLY, so pls even if you do it privately do pls check it out. Around Christmas/New Years time pls pls check out Lee Mujin and Hiyyih's ep, it's a special one of ep and it's interesting coz you actually get to know Lee Mujin more and he cover songs he likes and it's a holidays ep.

2023-10-12 03:27:50 I'm absolutely on the same boat with you regarding galileo and their title tracks in general. It sounds amazing, they do well but something is still bothering me. Because they deserve better and could do better. I don't know but I kinda don't see a real identity behind their title tracks. Think about Iz*one and Wanna one for example. I immediately have an image in my head on what their special sound is like. I don't have that with kep1er. It ONLY comes through in their b-sides, where they shine the best. I wish it would be the same for title tracks aswell. It feels like "here's an absolute random and surface level generic but absolutely amazing and catchy song for you guys, that doesn't really show the identity and sound of the group but anyways-"
