Taehyung is really the definition of artist. all the mvs and songs are very artsy and like you said very abstract yet meaningful at the same time. To be honest, from my perspective about the slow dancing mv, it looks like the scenes where he is having fun with his friends on the beach and going on a trip is an imaginary movie he creates with his tech inside his home to show to his dog. You see, his dog, yeontan, i think is the main character of this album (his face is literally the cover), on rainy days, there are scenes where they show the perspectives of yeontan when he is looking at V (in their dining room) and I think the storyline of slow dancing is showing and telling yeontan how they could be enjoying life outside through the movie, if it's make sense. but regardless, i love taehyung album, this is what we all expected from him yet more and i really think he makes jazz cool again personal favorite if you want to check out the cover of his songs by newjeans (slow dancing by hyein, rainy days by danielle) and his promotions (many fun ones like dingo on youtube, and personal favorite on IU palette)

I take the Slow Dancing MV as Tae creating his "ideal world" - everything you see in his "shop" is happening in his fantasy world - the architecture, the friends that all turn out to be versions of himself in the polaroid, the lighting (look again at his "model" in the shop there's lights over it which explains the unrealistic lighting you mentioned), the snail (the antenna), the flute, hoisting the sail on the ship (the projector), the dancing (where he's dancing in the shop which projects to the glowing silhouette - can't think of the correct term for it off the top of my head, and then you see the "fantasy" version of him is also dancing). You'll also notice when they arrive at the beach and someone is typing a bunch of coding on a laptop, that's the first real hint that none of what you're seeing in that world is real. Finally, Tae "falls asleep" on the ship and then he's back home with his dog, implying that the simulation has ended and we are back in the real world.

Yes! It was very dream like. Each MV almost feels like he’s showing you the emotions of being on a “break/layover” from the person he is singing about. They reflect the lyrics Love me again: The cave almost like we’re inside his brain and him practicing the words he’s saying to the person, like he’s on a stage. Rainy Days: The waiting, reaching out and hearing nothing back. (The texting sounds) Slow Dancing: the escape, almost like he’s imagining the happiness that could be. Blue: The hit with reality For Us: The Acceptance, not the conclusion, but still that ounce of hope that always remains I could be wrong of course lol but the storytelling in this EP feels so intelligent!

I am /thrilled/ to see this! YAY. I love Layover so much. I'm surrounded by Tae stans and I listen to the EP more than all of them combined. It's perfectly Tae and to /my/ ears at least is a combination of like neo jazz with a kiss of Motown R&B. Wait until you listen to/watch the MV's in order, it's a great story.

That flute part.. you gotta see his live stages; there is a beautiful section where he and his crew freestyling that part. It's so fun and different in every stage ^^

If you check out any live stages, I hope you watch the Mnet ones! The stage was just so beautiful. Also, Tiny Desk, Suchwita, IU's Pallette, and the band sessions on the BTS channel are must-sees for V's solo debut!

danielle from new jeans did a cover of rainy days and it’s so good, you should definitely check it out sometime !
