I'm SO excited you're reacting to some of their live stages, I can't wait to watch this!!

Tesa

Homeboy is the title track tho ☺️ They did a double tt and are currently promoting it on music shows. I'd highly suggest checking out a live stage (even from the comeback show) - it's so fun!! The boys can do any concept, it's amazing. I'm very much obsessed with Yujun's performance in Homeboy, he has some amazing killing parts (he's the one with multicoloured hair)! And I agree, they all shine and draw your attention in different ways. I don't think I can choose my favourite performer in this group!! I also appreciate it so much that they sing live as much as physically possible 🙌🏼

I’m so happy you did these. These boys are going places.

Homeboy is a title track, they've been doing this thing where they release the main title tracks like Tricky House or Do or Die and then release the other title tracks 3 weeks later after they finish promoting the first one. I think they wanted to give Rockstar and Homeboy their own limelight, but it does make them feel like less of a title track. This time they released Koong before Do or Die too, so Homeboy feels even less like a title. When I first heard the album homeboy and run were probably my least favorites, but the mv for homeboy elevated the some so much for me. There's sort of this weird uncanniness to the mv that I sort of love. I do find the mv inserts in the performance video annoying though and the choreography in the mv feels sort of out of place to me until they get to the beach. I feel like they should have kept all the dancing in the choreography version and vice versa.

I absolutely love this! The energy of Do Or Die is insane! They have already become such amazing performers. The aesthetic of the HOMEBOY MV is so lovely too. The one at the end of HOMEBOY is indeed Jinsik. The one with the pink hair is Seeun and the one with the multicolored hair is Yujun.

i truly love xikers performances and dances and energy, I think Minjae is my fav performer even tho as you said that all stand out differently to me. i also would suggest you go back and check out their debut era stages for tricky house, rockstar, and xikey, as well as their it;s live for tricky house sometime.

They are just so high energy performers its insane. They released a behind the scenes of the Do or Die choreography and seeeing them begin to develop their energy as the video progressed was crazy to me. They also released a Sped Up Version dance practice if you want to watch that, its the Do or Die (Die Version).

I'm just here hoping you will fall so deep into Xikers that you will end up watching their reality content hahaha

Yess Yujun climbed my bias list so fast with his parts in Homeboy. Especially him center in the last chorus. He does that part insanely well

Milli Mey

"Wish they did something like Homeboy as a title track in the future" Homeboy IS a title track! The album has a double title track and Homeboy they are literally still promoting right now.

Tesa

That's exactly one of the parts I was thinking of! I've replayed it multiple times lol

When the Koong music video dropped, I remember being so relieved that they were continuing to create hip hop songs. When their first album came out, my brother and I were reviewing the songs and I told him that I hoped that they would go in the direction of Xikey and be more of a hip hop group. After this comeback, I'm just so thoroughly impressed by them and their versatility. I'm a huge rock fan so Do or Die definitely made me lose my mind, but the B sides on this album knocked it out of the park. Whenever I just need happy for no reason, I listen to Skater because there's something about that song that just makes me happy, and Run is such a fun song. I loved this album and I can't wait to see what they come out with next.

Minjae is indeed the leader and he's killin it out there with Sumin

Stephanie Dockery

minjae is leader of Xikers . Green hair is Sumin which it’s says he main rapper so he only a rapper of the group. But he so charming . He really my favorite member of the group. He has amazing stage presence for group that’s just debut . Seeun is pink hair guy . I’m really Curious if he is center but says he only a vocalist from what I see on Kprofiles .the other rapper is Yechan which is maknae . He was one in debut with bright red hair . I really like hunter I think he my bias of the group :D

Brooklyn

Seeun is the pink hair one. It’s so interesting to see him stand out here bc he didn’t get a lot of screen time/lines in their debut. I still think they’re pushing Hunter and Minjae (also leader) as their centers but I love that this comeback cycle is highlighting people like Seeun and Yujun (multi hair). Also interesting you say that Ateez couldn’t do Block B. I agree I don’t think it fits their sonic universe, but I think that’s just because of the sound KQ crafted for them, and not because they can’t pull off that vibe. For an online concert during covid Ateez covered Yesterday and it’s one of my fave covers they’ve ever done. But Xikers is definitely FAR more youthful and playful than Ateez (interesting given that Ateez’s government name is literally A-Teenagerz lol).

Uma

Sumin (Green hair guy) has definitely caught my attention, his stage presence and how much fun he has on stage just makes me enjoy watching their performance. I vibe a lot with Koong and it's honestly my favorite song from them and I wish they did more live stages with Koong.

WiseSmellyLegs

I mentioned in another post of xikers that Block B didn’t debut under Seven Seasons/KQ, but you probably recorded this before I wrote the comment. But you have actually an interesting point about “KQ starting all over again with Ateez after Zico left”. Because it was basically like this. Seven Seasons was created for Block B and after some time (we can say after Block B stopped being active) KQ was created as a label above Seven Seasons and Ateez debuted as a “fresh start” for KQ. I’m not fully sure whether the playful sound of Block B started with them being under Seven Seasons. For example the most playful one, Her, was released under Seven Seasons, but also since their discography was based on Zico’s style, the playfulness could be found in their earlier discography as well. Anyway… at first I didn’t think about this, but Do or Die or this comeback in general really feels like them paying an homage to Block B in the same way as they paid the homage to Ateez in their debut. But still in both cases, they managed to keep their flavor in it!

Swan Baek Jo

Sumin has been my bias since day one. He has a similar attitude than bobby on stage with his charming smile and fluid moves. He also has the power of mingi’s rapping. I just love him so much like an old sis 🥲

Robobafett

Love these reactions, it's so fun to watch these videos with you!! <3 Koong has got to be my favorite song of the album, in part because of that performance and choreo, but also because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the screaming! Between this and Xikey, it's kind of becoming a thing for them and I just hope they keep doing it, because it gets me so excited and hype every time! Also, I cannot recommend Homeboy live stage more, it's just so fun! I'm sure other people have mentioned it, but I'd love to see you guys' take on their BlackPink Kill this love cover (KPOP lux in Madrid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bon-oTueAQY) and/or dance practice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj2gMAV5a6E&pp=ygUVeGlrZXJzIGtpbGwgdGhpcyBsb3Zl). And finally, if ever you want to get a quick glimpse at their energy and personalities without committing to a long video or variety series, I'd recommend their Mnet 'Million Dollar Baby' episode (https://youtu.be/5BNt2rfVuXo?si=zd0jTiH-FIGYvp4-) it's only 15 minutes long and it's really fun! It shows that their ambition you talked about is as much about games as it is about performing!
