This little flashback arc is definitely the writer's choice to ease into what's going to happen next in the main story... it's going to be a lot

These 5 episodes are very important in creating context and depth not only for gojo's character, but the jjk backstory as a whole. this season is filled to the brim with beautiful visuals and out of this world story telling. Getou is imo the best written character in the show, and the story between him and gojo is just so..... Intense and honestly just a trip

i really love how beautiful and cinematic jjk looks too, jjk is soooo well written and this arc is very important to depthen into gojo's and getou's characters but also the jujutsu society and backstory as a whole, futher down the line yall will see how everything makes sense and connects specially since its right before the arc that is gonna follow it and also its just interesting to see how everyone was in the beginning and how they evolved

lil bit of a correction: megumi's dad was hired by the star religious group to kill riko, not gojo. he's using the bounty as a means to wear down gojo so he can get to riko and kill her more easily cuz gojo is obviously super powerful lol
