I really loved your discussion at the end. I want to add on some things about Jiwoong as someone that has been a huge fan of his for years. Yes Jiwoong is such a goof. He used to be even more expressive facial wise when he was in INX and the maknae but this was also pre-acting career. Idk if it was because he went into acting or because of what life threw at him while he was an idol before or maybe a combination of that and just growing up he now just has a resting stoic face and his smile is usually :] . It’s funny you mentioned in the other video but yeah Yujin and Jiwoong are so similar in many ways. The way Jiwoong is as the oldest hyung reminds me a big of how Yeonjun is as the oldest hyung in TXT. I’m sad people couldn’t see much of Jiwoong’s personality but I’m excited for y’all to see more of him he’s so unserious and YES HE IS A FLIRT honestly.

Gunwook is such a cutie. Like he can look so fierce but then also so cute. I also love how much he likes to be babied and called cute. Like he loves it ^_^. He fits his nickname of giant baby so much.

All I’m going to say after watching this is: all will be answered once you watch their K Star Next Door episodes. Their dynamic with each other is much clearer once you watch that. Jiwoong is definitely the romantic older bro who dotes on the younger members ( + Matthew), and Ricky is definitely a flirt (but secretly adorable). I think you’re wrong about Jiwoong being the punching bag (he definitely was here because they were speaking informally, but most of the time it’s someone else), you’ll know what I mean after KSND.

ZB1 are very close and honestly I feel like it's admiration mixed with maybe a little trauma from the survival show. Boy's Planet was rough on them, and you could see how it affected them through Yujin's experience alone. The only people they could really rely on was each other. I also want to bring back into the discussion what you talked about with Gunwook on boy's planet episode 3 reaction when he was planning out the korean Kill This Love team. You mentioned the fact he's part of a new wave of idols that can compete with people but also has a 'no-one-left-behind' mentality where they don't feel the need to dislike or mess up their competition. I think that's applicable to all of the ZB1 members. I think the whole team admires each other, and are able to bicker so much because of how comfortable they are and because they were supposed to be competitors during the show and they played up on that playfully and it just kinda stuck. Also both Jiwoong and Gunwook are the romantics of the groups. Jiwoong reads poetry books and bought Matthew a personally made cologne for his birthday. Gunwook has always been poetic and wrote beautifully in his personal notes, namely the one when he was eliminated from Wild Idol where he warned the next time he was in the public light he wouldn't be leaving and then Daeul's goodbye letter where he described Daeul's smile as a moon that soaks up all the darkness and shine beautifully. He's also the most insane member at fansigns where he has said to fans, and I quote him directly, "You like me? You like me bad? Me too." and "You like oppa (referring to himself) that much?". There was this one korean tweet that described Gunwook and I haven't gotten it out of my head. "Gunwook speaks strongly, loudly and with a sense of excitement, but if you look closely, he is asking you to like him". Gunwook has so much ambition but it's rooted in a love for his peers. He wouldn't have been class president, participated in an anti-bullying program at school, helped with an umbrella donating program, and gave away candies to his schoolmates that high fived him if he didn't love people. I think he wants to be loved just as much as he loves, and that's a lot. I think he's a perfect role model of healthy masculinity. Both him and Hanbin are two sides of the same coin to me, and while Hanbin showcases his love through his constant praises and smiles and physical touch and general adoration, Gunwook shows his love through his constant compliments, ability to join in conversations that might be a little awkward for others, the ability to redirect focus to other members, and willingness to be teased or be joked about.

i can’t wait for you guys to check out camp zb1!!! it shows their relationship and group dynamics even better, its incredible how fast they became like a little family (the members themselves say they’re brothers now which is so adorable.) also i know many people mentioned it already but you guys HAVE to check out their idol human theater episode, for me it’s their best variety appearance up to date and it shows their banter even better lol

i agree that jiwoong’s attitude really helps the group dynamic - yujin said that the member he feels has the same mental age as him is jiwoong, yujin and jiwoong are roommates, and jiwoongs brother is around the same age as yujin (i think) - so even tho they have a big age gap jiwoong really brings a playful and comfortable vibe to the group and i think it really helped them all grow closer ! both jiwoong and gyuvin i feel are kind of a glue for this group

Jiwoongs personality has always been very good, open and very accepting throughout the years. However. I did notice that once he got into BL acting and connected with a lot of Gay/Bi/LGBT idols, staff and the environment. He became VERY VERY open and extremely loving and also very “be who you are. I don’t care! I will love you regardless” type of attitude.

It’s amazing that they have such a gentle, loving, and accepting hyung line that totally sets the group dynamic. And jiwoong, hao, and hanbin have each gone through so many life experiences even before boys planet that I feel like the younger ones can totally rely on them for any kind of advice. Good role models all around and we can tell that they’re all so comfortable vs having more of an authoritarian hyung line that doesn’t play around!

They have one of my favorite group dynamics, it feels so genuine and I love them all so much. Every member has a deep but unique bond with one another. A lot of them we got to see on boys planet but my favorite new dynamic that grew is Taerae and Matthew! The two of them are best friends (self proclaimed) now and they are so cute. Ill add on to this when I get around to finishing this video :) Cant wait to see you look at the rest of their variety content!

When the group was announced I was actually a little worried about how Jiwoong would fit in given the age gap, but I'm so happy he's there because he gives me big Jin vibes, and his relationship with Yu Jin is also very akin to Jin/JK for me. He's not precious about his image, and I think it helps the younger members feel that much more at ease around him and in stressful situations. I also think its a very intentional choice, which speaks a lot to his maturity and ability to almost sacrifice himself and his own image for the sake of the group dynamic.
