This was a great episode! I loved Hongjoon’s song choices and he really surprised me as a singer. I listened to this without watching because I was cleaning and I was confused at first because they speak in a similar way, at least to me :D

i keep listening to their duet almost daily, they did so so well together

I loved the Billie Jean duet so much. And it's insane how similar Hongjoong sound to Michael Jackson and apparently Taeyang as well? Hongjoong actually sounds similar to Jongho too. If Jongho is not present HJ ends up having to do JH's parts and if he does a really high note it becomes hard to distinguish between the two.

I literally said the same thing to my friend recently!!!

Really loved seeing him cover Bowie. Music really was not a part of my growing up. We never played music at home and never had the radio on, so it was only really during high school that I discovered music. Quickly found an enjoyment in older music. David Bowie being one of them. It was only around college that I learned that my mom was a giant Bowie fan when she was younger. Turned out that loads of the bands I ended up being interested in, were things she also listened to back in the day. Bowie, Queen, The Scorpions, etc. She also still had a bunch of old original LPs from back in the day. Never really bought physical CDs and Albums before that. But since then I've bought quite a few CDs and LPs to add to the collection.

I've been waiting so long for this moment. I'm so happy now I only need Jongho to complete my happiness, thank you for your affection and your work PD, I love you! ❤️

Viviena

2023-07-31 18:25:36 There is just something about hongjoong that is larger than life, and the way he knows exactly who and what he is makes me feel really grateful that he chose this path. Ateez would not be the same without any member, but I feel especially strongly about this with hongjoong. There is no ateez without hongjoong, even the members admit that. He is quite literally the lifeblood of ateez and there’s a reason he’s the Captain. He’s the stable pillar and the foundation upon which ateez was built. That story about how he became a trainee is really awe inspiring too. Hongjoong was KQ’s first ever trainee. So after hearing his tracks on a CD he sent by mail that was forgotten in the basement of their building only to be found a year later when they were moving, to call him back with the chance that this kid may not even still be making music and then deciding to form an IDOL group around him is insane. KQ was absolutely crazy for that. On top of that, creating a whole new development team and trainee program all for the biggest gamble of their life. Hongjoong didn’t even have a traditional audition, he literally sent his cd and they told him they’d make a trainee program for him. They really saw hongjoong and decided that he was the one. They bet everything and went into debt all while believing in this kid and his dream. They saw early on what we see now, a star. Hongjoong quite literally created the standard for kq and the rest of ateez only elevated that. I have the biggest respect and appreciation for hongjoong, he’s truly amazing.
