2023-07-27 08:35:44 I got into Stray Kids in 2020 around the time Han's Close was released on YT and it had a looot to do with me getting to stan the group. I was utterly obsessed with it and Han's genius song making. The MV was shot after sunset, around dusk, and all those blues and muted shades added so much to my experience of the song aka I got veeery emotional lol I love all his solos after this as well and would regularly go back to them on YT so I was beyond excited when this album was released (If only Volcano was on this too *sigh*). I personally prefer Disc 2, it has more of their emotional songs which I love (like Bang Chan's I hate to admit (stunning song) or Piece of a Puzzle), but it was still super cool getting everyone's solo and seeing more of their own colour!

alternative title: PD finally falling in love with Seungmin’s voice on another note tho i found it so fitting how you guys said seungmin’s solo could fit into an episode of Twenty-Five Twenty-One because he’s actually done solo ost songs for “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” and “Love in Contract” so he definitely has that kdrama ost voice

I completely agree with han being amazing at creating worlds in his songs!! There are some songs where it gives me a very specific image/scene in my head and i can’t explain exactly why. When I listen to Close, I always imagine being in a paper plane flying from the building Han was standing in the mv and drifting on the winds above a forest below. He’s my favorite songwriter in skz for this reason, because he’s able use his music to immerse you in a world.

PD and Blaire!!!! I rarely leave a comment but I want to thank you for this. This just not made my day, I was soo much looking forward excitedly with all SKZ reaction and excited is an understatement when I saw SKZ replay album listening party. I always love your reaction to SKZ since Hellevator. I even joined Patreon just to see your reaction to them, may it be music or variety contents. I love your interpretation and it make me love their albums even more. The SKZ listening parties made me love this entire month, patiently waiting for the listening party schedules..I am happy that you enjoy doing this as much as we love it. You're one of the reactors that I always wait for. Btw, since you love Han's song I highly recommend his recent release "Volcano". I hope we get another SKZ replay soon with the other new skz replays they released including "Snain" by changbin,felix and Seungmin ❣️❣️❣️ Again, thank you soooo much for the happiness this brings. pd: i'm a whore blaire: 😨🤨🤨 where do i even start lmao, this listening party will go down in history as one of the funniest i've seen, goddamn😭😭 but on a serious note skz works so hard that they drop music randomly just for fun (bc they're fking geniuses too but yk what i mean) i've been waiting for your ops on hans solo music for soooo long pd, changbin is my bias but han... he makes my favorite music out of everyone in skz, and now seungmin is coming for that spot too with this solo and his OSTs, han is such a unique artist, while u were discussing with blaire i reminded myself how much of a daydreamer he is, he really lives in his own world and tries to externalize it through music but at the same time i feel like he hasn't shown even a 60% of what goes around on his mind, he's a genius and has big star solo quality, can't wait to watch him grow even more along with the boys blaire you have opened my eyes to something i've never realized before, how could i not notice that stars and raindrops is SOOOOO the rose coded, i'm flabbergasted lmaoooo, the day6 vibe is pretty obvious bc seungmin is the biggest day6 stan ever + he worked with the producer that has put hands on almost every single day6 song out there, but THE ROSE??? big brain blaire omg. whenever you get the chance u should check out the lyrics for stars and raindrops, they're so beautiful and just like u pd i made a whole movie in my head when i first heard it, i can't believe we probably will never get a live perf. from this ahhhh theres so much more i wanted to comment but its 2:00 am here and i forgot lol😭but thank you so much for the reaction!! i'm glad you're wishing big things for skz because they're actually achieving lots of great things rn!! this listening party was a whole journey, much love to you, pd and blaire <333

Oh this was a PARTY party and I loved it!!! I'm with you guys on how SKZ have so much potential- I think about SKZ replay and am in awe of how much music they put out, and how big their passion for it is. And since you guys mentioned how you have fun reading comments, and because I'm incapable of not playing detective ever- On the fam lyrics, I believe 3racha primarily wrote the lyrics with everyone's creative input! I love how its basically a roll call song lol, if I have it down correctly, Chan wrote changbin's and hyunjin's verses (and a little bit of lix's?), changbin wrote I.N and chan, and Han, and Han wrote for lee know, seungmin and lix! The lyrics are actually somewhat different in meaning compared to the earlier released Japanese version and its most noticeable with hyunjin's verse! It's changed from focusing on how handsome he is to his abilities, because hyunjin has mentioned how he wants to be recognized for his skills, and I think its very cool and telling of skz themselves :') It also plays into how distinct hyunjin's sound is- it's almost delicate and I've never made the connection with girl group music but I SEE IT NOW. LIMBO!! I've been waiting for you to listen to limbo since you watched the skz code in jeju episodes where they did karaoke, and YES. Limbo has been top played for 6 months on my spotify, I've just simply never recovered from how good he is. You mentioned how we've never really heard him like this before - and I agree that song style matters a LOT but I also think it's because lee know has been improving so rapidly. He started attending specialized vocal lessons a year or so ago, the same vocal teacher that vocalracha (AND BAEKHYUN) go to, and it really really shows. He's mentioned being invested in doing more with his voice and singing in the future and I for one am terrified. I can't wait. Recently skz were on the Connodoll coin karaoke segment on MBC (which is a great watch for vocals btw) and Lee Know hit one of the high notes in IU's Good Day, and now I'm dying for him to go all out. My other favorites on this album is everything that belongs to the Han Jisung Genre of Music. I wholly agree on how much superstar quality Han has, because his range and his ability to reach into my chest and make me feel things I'm never prepared to feel is INSANE. It's genuinely so good it rearranged my brain cells, but the rapping, vocals, and the distinct sound and quality AND being able to create his own story and world..? Gets me every single time. His lyricism is so unique and eye opening, and he has such a fun way of sourcing the stories of his songs from experiences yes but also media that moves him! He tends to go for max emotion (SKZ tend to call his lyrics nerdy lol) for example, Wish You Back is something he wrote after watching Your Name, but imagining a 'What if they never met again' scenario and he wrote Chill on Maxident after watching Another Miss Oh made him sad 😭 I would also REA,LLY highly recommend listening to his most recent SKZ record Volcano, which actually managed to rival how much I love Alien. It released only a month and a half after this album and I'm still waiting for the day it becomes streamable 😭 Thank you so much for this listening party, and I can't wait for tomorrow's bonus drops where you can see more on how good seungmin, I.N and han are!! (Edit on what's already an absolute unit of a comment sorry, but your reaction to deep end almost killed me, thanks. That song is truly haunting in so many ways)

Thank you two so so much for this, I had the best time watching it!!!! Also, Changbin definitely needs to pull a Ryujin and just start singing in more of their songs!! Here are some fun facts I can offer (off the top of my head from memory, so I hope they’re accurate!!): Hyunjin’s Little Star is about the dog he had before Kkami. Han writes some of his songs based on movies, which could definitely add to the otherworldly feel! Since you mentioned Day6 a few times, Han and Seungmin have two amazing duet covers of Day6 songs on their YouTube (Congratulations & Zombie!)! Chan jokingly refuses to admit he wrote Drive (and Red Lights) (I have a sneaking suspicion Lee Know didn’t write “in the course we’ll be driving so rough” 👀). Finally, I saw an article from Forbes I think saying that SKZ is responsible for 2% of all album sales in the US this year (slay!!!!)

Amazing listening party! One thing I really love about skz is how much passion and love they have about music. 3racha especially seems to live and breathe music lmao Seungmin have for years been going to a vocal teacher and ended up bringing I.N along. A time later Lee Know joined and recently he brought Han along (at least for one lesson). They have such a passion to always better their craft. They all do.

Just so you know pd, seungmin's stars and rain drops was produced by the guy who made a lot of day6's music together with them. Seungmin loves their sound so much he wanted to work with him. Also idk if you noticed bc you didnt really react to it but changbin sings a lot in Piece of a puzzle. He starts the lines then seungmin takes over so it can be hard to hear. I 100% agree with you changbin's singing is beautiful and Im obsessed. Another little info, changbin is gonna release a song for samsung soon and from the preview he's gonna be singing so we can look forward to that !

For Deep End, Felix I think he took some inspiration from the artist Finneas. He's sung a few of his songs on live or at concerts and you might be able to hear/see that you upper midrange of you check out those videos!!! Check out a video of Felix covering Finneas - Break My Heart Again on live!

When it comes to live performances for any of these songs, I don't think there are any full-length ones. They would perform parts of some of these songs like I got it, love untold, drive, and def a few more during their concerts. other than that, I'm not sure that there are any other performances.

Also!! I just remembered that, for proof of Felix singing, you could watch one of the performances from the survival show! Their song Glow was originally a unit song for Changbin, Felix, and Lee Know! You can see each of them singing in the unit performance!

In regards to “ice.cream” For some reason Hyunjin’s style can often remind me of Post Malone in the way that they pull off melodic songs that seem to be somewhere between actually singing or rapping (but can include standard rap verses as well). If that makes any sense?

honestly hyunjin is insane because he's big in modelling and fashion, his paintings are actually mind blowing, he's super into song writing (his song DLMLU made it onto their Japanese album) and he's such a good dancer and I'm just as confused as to what he'll make a career out of in the future.

Thank you for checking out this album, and yes, Felix's range is quite insane, if you had listened to Love Stay when it previously came out - maybe Deep End wouldn't have been that shocking, as when Love Stay came out in 2021 - for me THAT was the shocking moment of Felix hitting the high notes hahah
