Listening Party ATEEZ 'THE WORLD PART 2 OUTLAW' EP.mp4

Comments

Hrathen

Entire album is continuation of The Ring from the Movement album it feels like

doe

outlaw is def my second favorite ateez ep now, so i'm glad you enjoyed it too pd nim :) now i'm just hyped for what they've got planned next since every album of theirs lately has just made me experience new levels of ascension

Tesa

"new levels of ascension" lol yes, that's exactly what it feels like!

Tesa

This was such a fun listening party! :D I love how this album connects to The World: Movement, how all the songs here are connected, and how much it relates to their lore!! Django might be my favourite b-side on this album - I am absolutely obsessed with the way Yunho said 탕탕탕탕 and how San sings "final round" in the chorus. Hongjoong's rapping altogether on this album is insane! He did something different and tried new styles/flows. I could play his part in Dune on repeat! Every member actually had parts that stood out, but this comment would be way too long if I pointed every single one of them out haha And lastly, I have to say, I wasn't fully vibing with Outlaw until I heard the last 40 seconds, and then it all clicked. It was mind-blowing and exactly what the song needed to rise above a "standard" track.

OUTLAW was the perfect word to describe this album. Objectively and subjectively this is ATEEZ’s best album and my favorite album. Every song feels different yet connected. No favorite song on this one because i love all of them, if i play one song i have to play the others

M.C.

This album is very fun in the sense that it feels like the boys are playing on each song and in the sense that the songs are playing off one another. Some of the songs feel like boxing matches too.

SapphireRain

Wow! Thanks for sharing! My favorite song is definitely DJANGO. Those layered backing vocals hooked me as soon as I heard them. Add San's "final round" on top of that and it was game over. It may not be as epic sounding as the other songs, but it's the one I keep going back to. As for Outlaw, the first time I heard it I was thinking "I really hope they make a music video for this!"

The first time Atiny’s heard This World and Outlaw was during the showcase the day before the album dropped, and those songs opened the whole show. I am not a big outward reactor when I see things for the first time, but when I tell you my mouth was actually agape and I fully gasped when I heard Outlaw for the first time I’m not even kidding. It is so so much fun, and so is the whole album. That’s what I love most about this project. While I personally like Ep 1 a bit more (Cyberpunk alone puts it at the top), I think that album took itself more seriously, whereas this album they all sing with so much attitude. They have created this mischievous Outlaw character and they really commit to that in the way they deliver their lines. A lot of Wooyoung’s parts do this well along with Mingi, as you pointed out. Woo and Jongho’s little prechorus part in Django is a prime example, and also Yeosang’s last line in Outlaw along with the little cute synth thing. I love how they chose that as the final moment of the whole album because it’s just so playful. Ugh I could gush about this project all day and I am so glad you love it (I knew you would)!!

Thank you so much PD for the fun listening party! My fav song in this album are Outlaw and DJANGO (Bouncy sit on the different throne). Outlaw really make me shook when i first hear (and watch it on the showcase), while DJANGO more fun and exciting to hear. But all the songs on this album are on FIRE!

By the way PD, i wanna watch the listening party of Fever Part.3..but too bad the link are not work :"(

The dance choreo for Outlaw is very hype so I hope you could check that out. Also, thank you for your reaction and insightful commentary! Here's the link to the live performance for Outlaw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwIxtv2tgsU&ab_channel=DANCEPRACTICEMIRRORED2

wooyoung is also my bias and I *love* the way he sounds when they give him a little bit of autotune (or whatever the effect they put on his voice), I think it sounds so good!!! my favourite is probably outlaw too, although all of the songs are so good that it's hard to pick just one!! i like ep 1 a little bit more, but mostly because it felt more unexpected and mindblowing, and this album definitely fits in as a great sequel

Alison Renaud

As a hard core Yeosang bias Dune is by far my fav cause his deep sexy voice in that chorus holy hell!!!! How can someone be so freaking pretty and then he opens his mouth and that deep voice comes out?!?!? Also the song in general is art and like it was made for me! Dune and Wake Up are both just incredible! Bouncy is my song of the year! Its so much fun and creative! This whole album is exactly what I love about them and music in general. I didn't think anything would top their first two albums but so far this one and Movement have knocked them out of the top for me!! I cant even rank these songs because they're all on equal levels and all incredible. Also both Movement and Outlaw are perfect albums to listen to while driving with the bass all the way up of course!

At 44:30 - “title track mainstream MSG” - maybe a dumb question, but what does MSG stand for? Beside that… Zero: Fever - Epilogue is my the most favorite album by ATEEZ as well. And based on that I am really looking forward to the epilogue album of this saga! Because from their Treasure saga I liked the epilogue one the most as well and this saga seems to be SO EPIC!! My favorite b-side from this one is Dune. It would be awesome if they did some special video to that song and it would be done in the theme of the latest Dune movie.

Hoping you react to Bouncy live stage in an upcoming bonus drop! The choreo is so cool to watch!!

This album is a masterpiece tbh, I couldn’t choose a favorite which is very rare in my personal case but Outlaw is the one I listen to the most along with Bouncy ofc, lore wise it felt like it was a mix of them describing their journey and their own description as “Outlaws”. Ateez’s albums are always very well made i feel, I just love the way they always bring their story into in i feel like they do it in such a creative, fun and smart way. Loved your reaction and review as always !!!!

Also for some bonus drop recommendations, they actually performed Outlaw and This world on their showcase you’ll find them on youtube they were GREAT. For Bouncy i noticed that you seemed to like the choreography of it *i get it honestly it’s so cool* for that they have a performance called “Performance 37” it’s by Mnet and it’s pretty much like a Studio Choom it was shot very well. They also did a bunch of variety stuff, they appeared of “Idol human theater” and it was their third time actually, they also have their own show “Wanteez” where each episode has a different theme, it actually started last year they usually do like 8-10 eps then they take a break for a couple of months then resume it, it’s currently on episode 23 if you’re ever interested in checking that out :))))

Dune is my fav off this one. The whole album is immaculate though at least for me like I don’t have a single complaint anywhere. ateez never ceases to astound me and I’m a fan who’s been here since their debut. I actually got to say hi to you at their first us show at globe theater 😂 I love seeing your take on their music though and your reactions to all the fun little details that I feel a lot of people miss.

AL

My favorite b-sides of the album are definitely dune and outlaw. Outlaw definitely snuck up on me as a favorite it's the only song off the album that I can't zone out to I have put all my attention on it cause the ending is just too good. You should definitely watch the live version of outlaw seeing the attitude change for the switch up at the end is addicting. Someone else already put a link for it but it's from the media showcase, this one is from the fan showcase so it was much better shot. https://youtu.be/vBFmYiycYUI

Michele Wang

Hongjoong's rap in Wake Up makes me wonder if they got a new rap coach at KQ. The lil fella that raps for Xikers makes like xlax and goes-goes-goes, too, so I wonder if they're both training with the same person.

Luana Paes

I love ateez 🧡

this is their best album and my favorite album of the year. i listen to it fully at least two times a week and i’m still in awe every time. the overarching story and the sound is mind blowing.
