Dryyym You

Reaction to mv is on YouTube already

Dryyym You

I’m glad you did reaction to this version 😂 cause yeah, totally changes the song lmao In mv version the meaning is there, but kinda saddle But in this one it’s right in your face ohmygod hahaha

aicrylic (aimee)

the only other change from the clean ver is "it's the way that we can ride" to "it's the way that you can ride" 💀

Fai

The change of "loving" to "f*cking" actually isn't the only change, he also changed another line, from "it's the way that we can ride," to "it's the way that YOU can ride" lmao

Dhel

It truly is Jungkook’s golden maknae time 🥹 can’t wait to see and hear him leading the music industry with this song and his album later on 🫶

lmao thanks for the bonus reaction 😭😭😭 your faces omfg same. i knew i was going to like anything jungkook was gonna release but MANNN this is just another level. armys are well aware he can be a menace but he still managed to shock everyone 🤣 for me the mv plot and explicit version works because i know jungkook is to his core a really sweet and endearing person which in turn makes it a more enjoyable listen for me. like idk if any other singer did this it probably would have given me the ick 😭 so so excited for what jungkook has in store. i know seven is gonna be a huge hit 😁

Hi Pd loved you reaction and sorry to be talking about a different group in the comments but I dont know where to ask you, I was wondering if you reacted or are planning to react to btob new comeback or killing voice? The comeback was in may so I was thinking maybe you missed it?

Harley

To me it’s no surprise Jungkook released a song like this. Army know him as being super cheeky and not giving a fuck what the “rules” say as he goes live on Weverse at like 3 am without telling any staff and doing whatever he wants. And the MV really does show what I think is a very Jungkook coded humor. But even with the explicit lyrics the song has been doing incredibly well chart wise on the first day. He’s breaking records left and right that only BTS have topped. I can’t wait for whenever his full album comes. He keeps saying he’s excited for it and I know there’ll be so many surprises we will not expect

Milli Mey

I still find the explicit version odd to listen to. As much as I don't care about what BTS do in their private lives, even though I am now 20 years old, I still have the feelings of my 13 year old innocent self who back then fell in love with BTS. So hearing the baby Jungkook now sing about f*cking someone is just so weird hahaha. I guess it's also kind of like finding out about your parents' s*x life?

Maya

for me the meanings are the same, explicit version just uses stronger words.

Dryyym You

I mean, we all can interpret lyrics differently, my innocent self thought “loving” is about showering significant other with love🫡 So the explicit version has different vibe for me haha

Ela Rose

I agree with you in that this was definitely the version that was intended. And honestly the song does make more sense overall. I do know now why she was trying to get away from him now though. Girl’s EXHAUSTED. You wanna fvck seven days a week? As much as that man works out?? That’s not just a promise. That’s a threat. 🤣😂

Sea

*jungkook being a year older than me* wow I still can't believe he's so grown up now :') ; i do like the song for the most part but the mtwtfss part gets a chuckle from me lol

Wait… I don’t think tattoos are illegal in Korea. I checked that on the internet and it says: “South Korean law permits only licensed medical practitioners, as opposed to tattoo artists without medical degrees, to open tattoo parlors, although it is not illegal to have a tattoo. Only the army prohibits tattoos. People can have tattoos after serving in the military” But there is definitely still the taboo around that. And yeah, JungKook having that many tattoos definitely play its role, but I have always seen YG (as a whole company) as those who break this boundary. I mean, Yang Hyun Suk himself has a tattoo, which wasn’t even censored in the Last Evaluation of BAEMON. Then we can talk about G-Dragon and TaeYang having tattoos all around their body. But regarding using the F word, that is something new or at least having it used in this way and in a “title single” like this. I mean, yeah… Bobby in Show Me The Money used F word and “middle finger up”, but that wasn’t in the “Kpop realm”, but in the hip hop scene. On the other hand… G-Dragon has these lyrics in Crayon: “넌 마치 닮았지 내 이상형 so give me some 김태희와 김희선 oh my god 전지현 (You look just like my ideal type so give me some Kim Tae-hee and Kim Hee-sun oh my god Jeon Ji-hyun)” 😅, but true… that is still just implying although in really obvious way. So rather than the perception of having tattoos in Korea, I am curious about the censorship of Korean TV and media after this song/JungKook solo work in general

WiseSmellyLegs

At first when I heard the regular version, I was like: “Hmm, yeah really cool! But I feel like there is something weird with this song” and then I heard the explicit version and I was like: “Yeah! That’s it! This somehow sounds much better/correct” and I don’t want to sound like I need to hear the F word to like a song, but the censored version just feels like something is not there…

Noem

Thank you for also asking, cause I haven't seen any other person ask except myself. Hopefully we'll get it soon 🤞

But I think he is the only BTS member that would do this kind of sensual concept. Jimin gives us sexy but in a "clean" way while JK is giving us a mature sexual concept and it suits him so well. I am happy he did this. Might be a little shocking for koreans but this makes him look much more mature, he is not longer baby Jungkookie.

Irieezy.

He said y'all in MY era now 🌚😂👏🏽 I'm so here for him & his grown sexy music, this is who he really is and he got to showcase it. Leave it to the maknae to be the first to talk about f*cking explicitly 😂 RM & Jimin implied it but Jungkook just went for it loool LOVE THAT FOR HIM 🔥 he just dropped the performance video and used the explicit version so I definitely think this was the original too

Thabit Ayob

is it just me who would prefer if it was "we'll be f*cking seven days a week" not "i'll be f*ucking you seven days a week"; it would have been explicit and still beautifully sweet

Maya

yeah but with "we" the phrase is shorter and it might not fit the melody and rythm.

Kayla

As someone who is an adult and listens to rap music as well, I love the explicit version WAY more and the whole song blew away the expectations I had for his solo debut. Just like all the other members solo songs, I will be having Seven on repeat 😭 Latto also killed it as a feature and her voice and lyrics fit so well into the song.

Panda

he also changed "it's the way that WE can ride" to "it's the way that YOU can ride" which honestly makes the entire relationship seem like it's based on s*x, rather than the "clean" version which sounds more like a messy love relationship with a lot of fights.

Angie

namjoon has done this type of music before. I can hear him doing this. I think I can see taehyung doing this type of content but more so in a jazzy sort of way.

ddiittttoo

I definitely think the explicit version fits this song a lot better than the clean version in my opinion. Jungkook really pulled out all the stops with this comeback. I initially wasn't the biggest fan of the Latto verse but it's growing on me. And Han So Hee was just incredible in the M/V too she deserves so much love after toxic fans were shitting on her in instagram comments, weverse posts, etc.

ddiittttoo

this was something i loved. changing like 2-3 words can give this song such a different meaning but i also love that bc i think the explicit version allows the concept the clean version portrays and what the explicit version portrays to co-exist together in the explicit version. the song can still be about a messy love relationship with a lot of fighting, but still involve the s*x aspect as another dynamic to the relationship, possibly as a reason why they do not break up.

I do agree that it is very pop but it is not pure pop. It is actually very much UK garage , reminds me a lot of craig david.

Anonymous

you have to watch the performance video!!!!!!!!!!!

CJ

Hi PD! Can you also check out JK’s BBC Live Lounge performance especially his cover of Let There Be Love? It’s so beautiful and the kind of song that gives you feels that you like 💜 https://youtu.be/sOvbUR2jYuY

Ashley

No PD I love Jungkook( obviously I army). The Michael Jackson comparison is a little bit absurd. I know you were trying to find the perfect comparison, so I think I might have some thing for you. So every few years there’s always like this main pop boy artist who has it all. They can dance, they can sing, and they can entertain. So for the early 2000s it was Justin Timberlake, and then the mid 2000s it was Justin Bieber, and ever since Justin Bieber started slowing down his career, we have not had a Main Pop boy. That’s where I think Jungkook comes in. He has the potential to do what Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber did, it just depends on how far he wants to go. But also he has a boundary working against him and that is being the first Asian artist to do it like that in the western music industry. He’s going to receive pushback because the industry always moves the bar/goal post when it comes to anything BTS related. With that being said it’s just like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé have cemented such a bold legacy that nobody could come after them and take what they have done. So, there will never be a next Michael or Whitney or Beyoncé. For years ARMYs, have joked that Jungkook is the main pop boy. We would always say just wait till Jungkook decides he wants to take over the western industry they should be scared because he is the main pop boy. We are witnessing history, I believe.

CJ

An update, PD.. Jungkook released a Lofi version of Seven. Just thought you’d be interested to add it to your playlist ☺️💜 https://youtu.be/wvL3Nl25evg

Angie

i think the main pop boy is very much Harry Styles. Obviously he was already known cause of 1D, but he's certainly the main one right now. But I agree, I think next is Jungkook. He gives me more r&b than pop though, but i think we'll see with his next songs.

Ashley

I disagree. You didn’t read my comment correctly I said the Main pop boy has it all. They can sing, dance, and entertain and to add on to that they have a natural charisma that’s very alluring. All things that Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber had/have. And all the things Jungkook has. Harry Styles is a pop artist who’s popular but not the “Main Pop Boy,” he just doesn’t have that umph or charisma or swag.
