Ging is no 1 deadbeat for sure—what’s interesting is that the mangaka talks about making Gon the protagonist and the whole HXH series for his son and giving him something to enjoy

Liv

HXH has such a wide world built and they get to explore so many different tones it’s insane; they both get to do very modern and dramatic stuff to high fantasy and lean real into the anime & even up until the end of the series they’re still worldbuilding which is so different

Liv

Yoshihiro Togashi the author also made YuYu Hakusho so that colors his style a lot + just fun fact he’s married to the creator of sailor moon

Togashi Yoshihiro, mangaka, didn't finish Hunter x Hunter, because he is a hardcore Dragon Quest fan and he likes to play that game a lot, so he took breaks to play the game instead of working on and continuing with this manga and because Hunter x Hunter was so popular, Shōnen Jump (the weekly magazine, where this manga was published) simply respected his decision, because they cannot do anything else just to hope he will write new chapters time to time.. sed Wow... I've just realized... Togashi Yoshihiro is basically like Ging and the fans of his are Gon... One thing I am confused about Ging and him having a child... I assume he had him in a young age (by the way the age of consent in Japan used to be 13 years old until this year (actually until this month), so there is a possibility he really had him so young and then left. But how was it possible that he was interested in having sex with somebody?? As you said... both Ging and Gon are simple minded and I can see some similarities in their personalities or there is even a big chance they are basically the same. So... can you imagine Gon having a sex with?? Like... I don't want to sound mean, but he seems like he doesn't even know how children are born...

Also... as you said: "It's called Hunter x Hunter and Gon decides to hunt his dad... what a good writing..." I cannot disagree, but on the other hand Blaire mentioned that Ging as a character or his life or anything isn't that much important that she would remember it if it was mentioned. So I am like: "Well.. this show is about a kid hunting his dad, but at the same time that dad isn't important for the story at all?..."😅😅

Why is Blaire laughing at the end when PD Hyuk said: "We will see their improved versions of themselves"? 😅🤔

You talked about the ending song and mangaka's humour. I wasn't sure at first, so I double checked my knowledge and usually mangakas are not involved into the production of the anime adaptation into this level. Like there are exceptions like Isayama Hajime (Shingeki No Kyojin), who is involved a lot, but in general these things are up to the animation studio or the director

"Togashi didn't finish Hunter x Hunter, because he is a hardcore Dragon Quest fan and he likes to play that game a lot, so he took breaks to play the game instead of working on and continuing with this manga" that..... isn't true, lol. he's suffered from back and hip issues for years which is what led to the hiatuses in the manga

Wait… I knew for sure there is one mangaka, who is a big fan of Dragon Quest and I thought it was him. I remember seeing many comments saying that and also based on that he didn’t have much time for something else. I didn’t want to insult him, I hope it didn’t seem like that. But now I am confused. I’ll double check the informations about this! Thank you for noticing my comment

Alright… so apparently it was officially because of his back pain, but those breaks happened always at the same time, when new Dragon Quest game was released. At the end of the day, there is nothing wrong about playing a game as a form of relaxation, which was needed because of overwork and back pain. So actually both reasons could be true. I am sorry for not mentioning his back pain problem, that was inconsiderate from my side. Thank you for making it clear for me!
