I keep talking and I love Jay. u said in ep 5 u were shocked he wasn't higher and yeah but sadly it's one of those things where koreans aren't fond of his looks and there was some false rumours and stuff people find him cringe so I think out of all the trainees on the show he is the most bullied online, his company ceo has said he's seen it and it's mentally effecting him to the point of crying while eating, and the ceo is constantly begging people to leave him alone and her sad post about him went viral in Japan. Her insta is: @ from_fm_Jina if u want to read them. He also said during this performance he was sick( note: underneath their individual fancams the trainees write long messages and they're great to read. especially Haruto's he's so mature and funny).

Zoom was my favorite team out of all the performances, it’s a performance I can keep coming back to and enjoy every time, they really brought the energy and fun to it—the most memorable to me! And the team dynamic was the best for me, they all meshed with each other WHILE also standing out individually, their colors showed through

Kinda underrated I would say but my personal favorite, right of the bat, is gang. I might be a bit biased here since two of my picks are there (Junhyeon and Seunghwan) but I was so hyped during the performance and I can't help but keep going back to it once a day, I usually gravitate toward those type of concept more, and given that half of them didn't want this song, they did a good job. I also liked Zoom a lot, fans who attended told us they went last that day and the audience was already tired as it was late late at night, but they brought back their energy and had a great response

It was fine on this ep since there were only a few performances, but I hope for the next episode you bring back giving your thoughts immediately after each performance! There's a LOT of performances in the next ep, and I think you'll have a lot of thoughts. Chen Kuanrui is genuinely sooo sweet, I love him. Like he's crazy talented, but he's also so very warm and it melts my heart Zhang Hao won me over completely in this episode. Like he shot straight into my one pick and then solidified it in the next episode. IDK I reallllly like when contestants are smart and professional. Competence is attractive. And I think he's one of the most intelligent and self-aware contestants on the show. You can audibly hear his Korean getting better episode by episode too. I liked this new voting method a lot - and with the exception of one result next episode- think that it led to the most deserving trainee winning each time instead it just going to the most popular. GANG was fun and I reallllly liked Lee Seunghwan and Kum Junhyeon in it! Really caught my eye. However, everyone did really great and I enjoyed it thoroughly. ZOOM is one of my favourite performances this round (just barely edged out by one performance next episode). It felt so cohesive - it naturally flowed from member to member, and I don't think anyone was lacking at all. If there is one critique I can give, Park Hyunbean is an excellent rapper and has a great personality but I think he needs to unlock that final bit within himself to really find his stage presence though. He's always good but never draws my eye unless the camera is immediately on him. HOME. So this was one of the performances where I really wished we got to see the vocal arrangement process, because I think that's the part that fell flat for me. The dancing was good, the singing was great (minor mistakes aside), and the members were charismatic. But it was missing a final climax for me? Like it built up to Seungon's high note (which was amazing) and Jay's following riff with Jongwoo's dance break, but then it ended too quickly after? Like it needed to just build a bit more. That aside though, Yoon Jongwoo really stood out to me as a person for the exact reasons you stated. He's hungry for it, but he's not selfish about it. He cares a lot, and that's great. LOVE KILLA - I respect Matthew's ambition, and I think he was right to try, but agree that he's not a natural leader? I really liked Jiwoong in this and the advice he gave was solid. Personally, I think Matthew shines best as a supporting member - he gives energy just by being himself, and that's just as important as being a leader. For the performance, I enjoyed everyone individually, but I do think there was a lack of cohesion in them as a group. I'd contrast it to GANG, where some individual members didn't stand out as much, but I thought flowed better as a performance. ZOOM is the ideal where I think both individually and group wise there was an equal balance. I agreed with your standouts this episode completely

for me, the best performance was ZOOM, and i say that even counting the one coming up in episode 7. like... of course everybody is gonna hype up the tomboy one and ngl it was amazing but ZOOM is the performance i had the most fun with, felt like everybody got to shine, was just super entertaining and i rewatched it sooooo much after this. actually i put Wumuti in my last voting slot because of how good he is and i was sad we couldn't properly hear his voice before. Also Keita .. he's so good. a true pro. he totally deserves to redebut in this group since Raincom gave up on Ciipher and i'm personally so frustrated when i see his korean votes... the boy would be top 2 if you would take only global votes in count 😭 for Love Killa, tbh, i think you should watch Seowon's fancam... he was the best of the team for me, and yes, i say that being totally biased 🙈 He doesn't have the hype the other top9 members have, and mnet focused more on showing jiwoong and matthew, but you can't deny how amazing his vocals, dance, and facial expressions are ( and those you can see better with the fancam. ) he's seriously so amazing and i hope he's gonna stay in your top9 anyway 🥹 i still don't understand the gyuvin hype personally tho, but maybe it will come in the next episodes 😭 can't wait for you to see the feel special team also. i was the most emotive about it since I'm rooting so so much for woonggi especially after all that happened with to1 and everything. 🙏🏻

During this round Jay actually was sick, he said it on a comment that he posted in his fancam, so maybe thats why we got so little of him on this performance, But I'm excited to see what he do next. My favorite performances on this episode were Zoom and Love Killa, but I actually loved all them and found a new pick in GANG (lee jeong hyeon)

hey pd idk when you plan to watch episodes 7&8, but i just wanted to give you a warning that in ep 8 they announce some candidates for p28 at the beginning of the elims and one of the trainees had a panic attack in camera, and its kinda hard to watch especially as hes my one pick. i dont know if something like that is triggering for you, but i just want you to be aware before going into the episode. i cant wait for the reactions to those episodes though because other than a few difficult situations they are a pretty fun watch 😁😁

Not sure if you saw my previous posts…So, about Krystian, the whole situation in episode 3 was heavily evil mnet edited, and lots of people fell for it, myself included at first. But looking more into it, I found a handful of videos on youtube that show scene to scene how they edited it with many out of order clips, voiceovers, and dramatic music and such to make Krystian look bad. He hadn’t done anything wrong during that whole time, and he actually has history of being a nice dude in previous a survival show in China. During the “conflict” shown in episode 3, most of his team were Chinese and didn’t fully understand korean/english and so krystian, knowing english, chinese, and korean, was a translating what kamden was saying for the others, but they edited it in a way that made it look like krystian was talking over kamden. Mnet even went so far as to add a voiceover of a different audio clip of kamden onto this scene. And they took clips of the other team members just looking around with a normal resting face, but added dramatic music to make it look like there was drama. And the part where Kamden was crying during his solo interview focus thing, it was from a different time, as he wasn’t wearing certain things compared to when he was with his group members. It’s so horrible knowing that Krystian must’ve watched this episode and seen how mnet turned the whole situation upside down just do he looked bad on screen and was less likely to be voted for. It hurts my heart seeing people wrongly treated in this way. Just goes to show how these survival shows have such power over voting, even though it’s audited. Lesson learned, don’t believe everything you see on these types of shows. Krystian is not the asshole that was shown in episode 3. To me Hui would fit in the group of the top 9, it seems like Hui has a great relationship with all of the other trainees and especially the usual suspects in top 9, on stage he meshes well and has great chemistry despite him being a veteran idol—ALSO off stage he has great personal relationships with them and in all the behind the scenes stuff they’re all really comfortable with him like this man will even get lovingly teased by the younger ones and it’s a great dynamic!!! I think having Hui there as a producer, and older brother figure will help the group and push the inexperienced trainees to that much higher of a standard: FOR ME: thinking about what will differentiate this new group from others coming out is that I think Hui as an older member and with his unique color will really shake things up for the formula of the next 5th gen group and make them into something greater, I think that grit older groups have will spice up the 5th gen model, having him in there will already make the group stand out, that range of ages offers a lot of variety to what they can do, I just think about the age and experience gaps in IZONE and I trust the process, bc what if we got PANORAMA LEVEL IZONE but at the START of this Boys Planet groups career!??? If we get that level of excellence at the DEBUT bc there’s that confidence of experience and songwriting from Hui just ahhh that would be perfect

ITS EASY TO FORGET BUT I JUST REMEMBERED AS AN EXAMPLE SAKURA!!! (Also to an extent Nako and Hitomi) ARE A GREAT EXAMPLE OF FOR WHY IM OK WITH HUI JOINING THE GROUP, Sakura could’ve stayed in Japan as a debuted, well known idol, THE #1 OF THE GROUP but she belonged in IZONE and now we get LE SSERAFIM !! Sakura was in a better situation than anyone else who wanted to redebut in a survival show SHE NEVER NEEDED IT HER CELEBRITY STATUS WAS HIGH, but we all respect her bc she was pushing herself to restart as something new, she both had the existing popularity supporting her during the show AND the talent and charm to want her to be in final group and I think for me that’s just why I can be ok with Hui

i adore woonggi sm. i love that he’s so unapologetically himself , he’s always been very feminine and “queer-coded” which i’ve seen is one of the reasons he was kicked from to1. he minsu and seongmin didn’t fit the image to1s company was looking for apparently but i love that he hasn’t changed himself to fit that “boy group” image. he is such a positive and fun person and i’m rooting so hard for him. also his relationship with seowon is adorable, their energies match so well together. also warning , in the beginning of ep 8 they announce possible candidates for p28 (last place) and one of the trainees had a panic attack on camera and its honestly a little hard to watch. just a little warning.

i don’t know if someone pointed this out or not, but i thought it was interesting. you know how you said jongwoo has a brave heart? theres a quote on each boys planet contestant’s profile and jongwoo’s quote is “the important thing is an unbreakable heart”. i just thought that was such an amazing coincidence it gave me chills 😭

I am one of the people rooting for Hui. I was not a Pentagon fan and I just have casually heard some of his Triple H music but that's all. But after watching him in the show and seeing how he is interacting with other trainess I really think that he may bring something to the group. I think he and Keita would be able to lead this group and make a difference as an 5th gen boy group. Matthew I love him so much but stress is taking over him. This baby looks stressed as hell and I think that maybe second place is too stressful for him. Maybe keeping him in the 4th or 5th position can make him a little bit loose... Also I think that Matthew is in this weird position that he is a good dancer, good singer and has good looks and is sweet but he is not shining very much. In kill this love and Love killa he is good but he is not great. I want to see more of what he gave us in the audition. Jongwoo one of the members that is constantly growing on me and is endangering my first top 9 group. My top 9 has changed from the initial one. Jongwoo also has to debut but sincerely after watching top 9 in episode 8 I am not sure who's gonna debut cuz top 20 I think is really strong.

If the hot topic is about Hui, his age, and that factor determining his possibility to debut, then another argument can be made. That argument is like what others are saying about how a young age of 13 or 14 is ok for debuting but 30 or so isn't. Sure, I'll admit I was also shocked to hear that Hui was going to join the show. But, I am no veteran in kpop and I didn't know already debuted idols could be in multiple groups. Rather than questioning his age, I questioned whether what I just said was a norm since I still had a lot to learn about the Kpop world. But once I heard his reasons, I changed my mentality and both accepted and respected his joining without any reservations. Although he has now become another of my biases from PENTAGON through this show, I am genuinely rooting for him even from an unbiased standpoint and if I were to remove my emotions and attachments to any of the trainees.

Also Wannaone had Myunhyun from Nuest, HaSungwoon from Hotshot, X1 had Han Seungwoo from Victon, Kim Wooseok from Up10tion. So I don't see much problem with Hui.

I’m so glad u caught up PD because this episode was a game changer for me and I wanted to see ur reaction. Right off the bat on the topic of Hui- I personally don’t feel like he should be in the top 9. Not because he isn’t absolutely incredible but because I want to see him back in pentagon soon and I just don’t know if he adds much to this lineup. Hui has incredible vocals and right now in my head, based on lineup I feel that ppl like Tae Rae, zhang hao and Jay can cover ground in that area. The group has potential to grow and I feel that the group needs to have its power vocals, visual, dancers, rappers and aces. I just don’t know if hui is the absolute best for the group. Moving past that, keita is an ace and we need him in the line up. And although he’s my number one trainee I can’t help but fall in love with jiwoong. I feel like moving past his visuals, he is an INCREDIBLE dancer and his character and maturity just speaks volumes. He’s not too “greedy” in groups (not to say wanting parts makes u greedy) and is really looking out for others. I also have to say that woongki is amazing u gotta look out for him in the next episode. And while I don’t know if they’ll make the lineup Im personally supporting Jongwoo, seunghwan, and junhyeon. If they don’t make it here I hope some agency scoops them up and puts them in a group. Also Gang and Zoom were so fun

I came to love Jongwoo a lot after the backdoor stage and I'm really rooting for him. Whether he does debut in this group or not I think he has a lot of potential to shine. Right now Keita and Matthew's debut are my priority and their performance during this episode sealed that for me. Keita is a lot similar to Mashiro and although they may not shine as much as the other trainees there is just something about them that you know they are needed in the group. Also I will never regret rooting for Seunghwan since the start of this show. I'm not familiar with him prior to boys planet but I know this guy is talented, I don't know wether he'll make it or not but him, Jongwoo, PHanbin are the trainees for me that doesn't get as much attention but definitely up there talent wise.

Hey, so just to let you know Seunghwan did a live prior to Boys Planet coming out saying that if he doesn't succeed there he's going to go into the military and he'll give up being an idol. He was born in 2000 and he said that he knows he's not that old but he's old in the idol world. I think losing him would be such a disgrace, not only because he is very attractive, but he also has the singing chops and I feel like he's always so close but just not enough to showing it off. Every team he has been placed in has been sabotaged one way or another. Danger had some weak trainees (not to mention the Daeul attitude stuff) and now he had to do Gang, which is known as a meme song, and he ended up rapping when he isn't a rapper. Gang was way better than Danger but still, he hasn't had the opportunity to truly show his vocals. He's an incredible leader too, like he helped Daeul in the beginning and there are some behind the scene videos showing Seunghwan helping Ollie with his Zoom rap. I also have a feeling he's not going to make it into the top 9, and it's just sad, because rarely do you ever hear someone say it out loud that they're gonna give up if they don't succeed. I hope the next mission gives him a chance to shine, because realistically, it'll be the last time ever.

I'm really happy this episode showed Gunwook's personality more. The first few episodes made him out to be some type of scary monster when realistically he's really cute (his mannerisms and attitude) and he had just turned 18 and was actually 17 in some of the early promotional stuff. I watched him during Wild Idol, the survival show from 2021 that he and Kamden and other people were in. He was always a bit of a dork and I think that shined more back then because he wasn't so tall or confident (side note, he actually got scolded he needed more confidence in that show so that's one of the reasons he projects a confident image now). Gunwook was the vice president and president for multiple years during elementary, middle, and high school, he was on the debate team, he quotes ancient Chinese historical novels (his Lui Bei comment he made this episode lmao), and volunteered at a cat shelter, like come on, that boy is not scary. Side note, PD you NEED to watch Wild Idol, especially since you like Gunwook so much. Like you'll see what he's capable of and be lowkey disappointed that he hasn't showcased all his potential on Boy's Planet because his singing and rapping was THAT good in Wild Idol. Like he could literally be the main vocalist or main rapper of any team he's put in, it's that good. Plus since you like people who scheme and plan things out and are eager to prove themselves and make their goals, you'll love even more people from that show since that show is full of them (it's not called Wild Idol for nothing).

my love killa pick was definitely seowon, but honestly mnet did gyuvin really dirty in the episode version of the stage. they cut away from his parts a lot, and while gyuvin isnt the first person i look at by a longshot on stage, in the full cam i totally get why he placed first. while his popularity is definitely at play, he also did really, really well. also! he didn't get his flowers for how incredible his choreography ended up being because mnet never resolved his storyline of not being ready for interim, which makes me sad. the dance break is the highlight imo, and gyuvin did a great job on it. also, the kid is really endearing off stage. there's a bonus clip where he brings an entire suitcase of snacks to the new dorms and jiwoong is just like WHERE ARE YOUR CLOTHES? WHY DO YOU HAVE THIS MANY SNACKS? and gyuvin is just super cute. he's totally a mischievous maknae line member. tbh he won me over off stage, actually, and entered my top 9. he just has fantastic group chemistry and he honestly reminds me of wanna one minhyun where he's not the craziest most stand out dancer or performer, but he acts as a stabilizing force in every group he's in that makes everyone around him seem more cohesive since he sort of becomes the middle ground between the dancers and everyone else. and seungeon... even if he doesn't make the final lineup, he's going to debut and put other main vocals in his batch of rookies to shame. fun fact! today he was spotted with official seventeen merch at the dorms (a cup) so he is just straight up a carat. his elimination placement for round 1 was also 17 lol. he bleeds rose quartz and serenity etc etc LMAO. we NEED to get seungkwan and seokmin on this kid asap

just pointing this out but Pentagon is at the 7 year mark so they are up for the contract renewal this year. So I think he is trying to survive as an Idol, but also doing this for Pentagon. Kinda like the nu'est members had after the produce series. By doing this he's is bringing more attention to him but also to Pentagon so that's might be the reason. I think it's to show Cube you can't disband us, we want to stay together and if that's not a possibility, then let us go, so we can be together somewhere else. That's my understanding regarding Hui. Also I'm pretty sure he won't make it into the final line-up, but I do think it would be dope if he would become of the group's producers, since he would have a pretty good idea of the capabilities of the 9 members which he could use in his advantage.

im a pentagon fan and ive been voting for hui for the first 2 rounds, but ever since we can only vote for 6 people i actually stopped voting for him. there are MANY boys here that really deserves the 9 spots. KEITA is so amazing. makes me go and watch all CIIPHER stuff 👀👀👀👀👀 the boys i've been voting since day one are Keita, GunWook. GunWook reminds me alot of VERIVERY's leader. Im going back and forth with Haruto and Park Han Bin now that we can only vote for 3 boys.

I’m TERRIFIED for Jongwoo, because I so desperately need him in the top 9 and it’s still a long way to get there. For anyone who wants to see him debut you have to vote and vote everyday or as often as you can. With only three votes now, I’m scared that he’s falling off a lot of people’s lists and I just can’t live in a world where such a talented guy doesn’t make the cut 😭

My initial pick was Gunwook too from the first episode, and Jongwoo has been on my radar since the first 2 episodes with his commentaries and performances. But the part when Jongwoo really won me over was in Home. There’s something really special about him there that just stole my heart. I like what you said about him wearing his heart on his sleeves, even though he doesn’t look like the type, because it really describes him well. Praying that both of them makes it into the final lineup ;_;

I just love when we connect in like an spiritual level pd😭 I agree with all you said about jongwoo… I’ve liked him since the very beginning, but after back door he became my no.1 pick. You can feel the way he’s passionate and pours himself a 100% in everything he does, I literally SOBBED when I first watched the home performance so I feel u, there’s a behind the scenes of the practice and jongwoo seemed there like the type of teacher that takes out the best of you, strict but with love, reminds me so much of Bangchan, you can see him there giving high fives to everyone, hugs, see them laugh, get excited for each other, he even helped the love killa team with choreo😭like, he deserves to be top9 SOOO BAD, and trust me pd you’re just gonna like him more & more, I’m so excited for the next episodes!!

im only at the love killa performance but im skimming the comments and ill just say: the only reason I don't want hui in the group is bc we'll never hear the end of people calling him an old hag who stole opportunities from helpless baby trainees lmao. it would be exhausting and annoying. i hope he can use this show to promote himself and go on to be a successful producer and/or soloist, since there's a 98% chance pentagon wont be a group next year.

Hopping in before watching the episode to say that they cut out a lot of the Zoom team's stuff. Specifically, Haruto choreographed the dance and helped Keita with a bit of the arrangement. And ofc they all wrote their own raps. Sad they didn't include it but he mentioned it in a comment on his fan cam video :)

So I have a top 10 instead of 9 because I'm stuck between Keita/Jay but my TOP PICK is SeoWon <3 I just love him so much and he is an INSANELY AMAZING dancer and I'm so upset Mnet doesn't showcase that a lot because the man is such a great dancer. I'm always in awe when I watch his dancing. He always also just gives me a boost of serotonin when he shows up on screen too lol

not super important but i thought it would be interesting to mention that park hanbin, taerae, woonggi, haruto, lee jeonghyeon and a few others that were eliminated already are all under the same company (wakeone) and theres a possibility they could debut together if they dont make it in the show (wakeone sucks though so who knows whether that'll actually happen)

always love your reactions! gunwook and jungwoo are def in my top 9 too, but kim taerae and kum junhyeon are my #1 and 2. my rankings switched so much after episode 7, so i am super excited for your reaction to it. it's somehow my favorite and least favorite episode so far. also, i normally don't get super invested in individual trainees until after they debut, but something about this show has me deeply caring about a lot of them. knowing some of my favs won’t make it feels like i'm awaiting an impending doom🤣

the way we have the same favorites.. gunwook + jongwoo! everytime jongwoo shows a new side of himself on the show, i’m over here like “i will personally vote you into the top 9 myself” 🤣 i have been voting for him + gunwook since the first round of performances & will continue to do so☝🏽like my fave tunnel vision is so bad i have ideas of who i want in the debut group but at this point, as long as gunwook and jongwoo are top 9 idc who in it 😭 they HAVE to debut in this group like that’s it. that’s all~ i’m sooo excited for the next few episodes for sure. ALSO seunghwan + junhyeon definitely stood out so much in this. like gang was the performance that had me sold on seunghwan! so talented… the facials, charisma, he was performing for his life! and junhyeon is such a natural born entertainer i was wheezing during the abs tshirt reveal LMAO tbh overall in terms of performances, i think gang was the most jaw-dropping, zoom was the most fun, home was the most heart warming, and love killa, maybe the most charismatic? i can’t think of the adjective i was looking for tbh but everyone did great fr

im so excited to watch ep7 with u! ep7 is a huge roller coaster, and i agree with what u said about jongwoo! he really proved himself here my top two picks are seowon and lee seunghwan, and objectively i actually believe seowon might have done the best in love killa! seowon isnt in mnet’s picks so they barely showed his parts in the performance so i recommend u watch the full performance but if u do, you’ll notice him a lot more and he did the best because personally i think he best portrayed the song with movements that were both fluid yet lethal, he got a lot of praise after this performance and people who watched live complimented him a lot! mnet really doesnt give him screentime so thats why it mightve felt like you didnt see enough, they just didnt show it 🥲 he didn’t have a mic in their practice room too while the others did so we didnt get to see him during the practice before the stage much too.. u mightve noticed but mnet only likes using him for reaction shots, rather than showing his talents😭 he appears every 5 mins on screen just to say “wow!” or “amazingg” and was practically the co-announcer during the elims because of the commentaries☹️ so i hope u continue to look out for and support him! seunghwan performed like a debuted idol because he was from 1the9! (group formed from the show undernineteen where wumuti and jay were also on, hence wumutis great korean) and he was on LOUD too (for the auditions) and he has said this is his 4th survival show! nonetheless really excited to see ur ep7 reactions, i cant wait!

I believe they should still be watching it. They had to delay the release of the episode 5 reaction so they did 6 with it to make up for it. It shouldn't affect 7's date.

the way trainees went "its a yg rapper" when keita appeared, those training years at yg really paid off, i rlly think he could easily fit into treasures rap line if he made it during treasure box i hope he debut here. INSANE SKILLS!!!!!
