I understand how bitchy yurim is but I can get where she's coming from in this situation. If she truly believed that she won, then she might feel likes she's being done a great injustice. I can understand that.

fun fact: the puppy that was glued to Yijin's (Nam Joohyuk's) side is his actual dog! it's so cute how he made a cameo! the boyfriend is Choi Taejoon. he's married to Park Shinhye and iirc this was his first appearance in a drama since his military service/wedding. i really don't know much else about him, but i remember people on reddit being sooo hyped when he showed up in the series. also, i think Yurim was jealous of Heedo from the very beginning. she felt threatened and envious of Heedo which is why she acts so 'bitchy'. Heedo's family has more money than her, she works incredibly hard, she has a better relationship with Yijin, and now the coach is pitting them against each other and putting so much pressure on Yurim. she was right when she said Heedo is at the core of all her issues. But, that's only because she allows all of this to affect her that way. i don't think Heedo is the actual problem.

Actually fencing is an individual sport, every athlete fights for their own success. it's basically like tennis. you fight one vs one each round and progress from round to round. it doesnt matter what country the opponent is from, you could come up against a fellow countrymen in round one technically. There are seedings though so the top athletes cant come up against each other in the early rounds, that's why Heedo and Yurim only crossed paths in the final.

I think something to look at is Heedo didn’t expose Yurim to be mean or get in her head. Even with all the shit Yurim gives her she is still deep down a fan. Heedo did it to help her. She so caught in her own feelings about Heedo and doesn’t want to admit that she is her equal that she is treating it like she’s got it in the bag. But infact even Heedo knows that she has never won against her because she knows everything about Yurim and Yurim hasn’t taken the time to figure Heedo out. She gave her everything she needs to beat her. Because I honestly felt like she wanted to throw the fight to help Yurim but her pride and values wouldn’t let her. So she gave her what she need to beat her. Only thing is Yurim has some weird mental block when it comes to fighting Heedo. As other people said she has everything Yurim doesn’t and wishes she had and beat her when they were little. Maybe even the only person to ever bear her. They talked about Heedo as being a prodigy and that might have caused Yurim some trauma. I think I made sense. Also even if you have to watch it on your own. Another studio Dragon show that is amazing and does only what studio dragon can do is the heavenly idol. Omg it’s so good.
