Koreans have taken MBTI as a way to understand others a little bit more. In Korea you say I am this MBTI and they will be : ah! That's why you did this or that. We know that we don't have to take mbti's very seriously but it helps a lot. I am an ISTJ and I also like to be by myself to organize my ideas and wrap up my day.

Maybe this is just Canada, but a lot of corporate jobs require an MBTI testing as part of the job application. I've actually had to do an assignment in my Human Resources class about the importance of it in job screenings. And for the group assignments in my degree, usually professors use the mbti to match people into compatible groups where everyone has different but non-clashing strengths. It's pretty interesting.

That sounds terribly illegal in Canada since it is very suedo science and very unreliable. That's like requiring your zodiac sign for a job. I doubt they can legally require it at all.

The problem with MBTI is that the base questions are not fixed and that is why people's MBTI changes. It changes based on the scenarios they are presented with in the test questions. You can ask some basic question multiple ways and the meaning will change slightly. So that is why MOST western cultures do not put much faith or stock into it. Since how you feel on any particular day about what you are asked can in fact change. If I ask you on Monday how you feel about X situation, you may pick one answer, but if asked again several days or more later your mindset and emotional feeling may have changed and you answered it differently. Its more of a MOOD test than a personality test. So yes, not particularly reliable.
