omg Ive waited so much for this🫡 I’ve loved this jujutsu kaisen journey with y’all, this story, anime, manga, has me on a frikin chokehold🧎‍♂️lol and it’s fun to see you guys fall into it too! To point some things you guys said, yes pd! The post credit scene it’s on the same timeline of the anime series! You guys may not remember but in the first chapters, panda introduced yuuta and he mentions that he’s “overseas”, so yes yuuta was on a mission and gojo went to look for him, can’t let y’all know the reason why yet bc it’s actually a spoiler! But you’re also right about the author dropping random things for then the story explain them way more later😭😭😭 he’s lowkey insane btw, love him. This movie is based on the volume “0” of the manga series, and it’s actually very canon! Except for the Kyoto students fight and some other parts, nanamis fight, those parts are not on the volume but are teased in the series! So thank mappa for those! And last but not least, I was waiting for your thoughts in the last Geto and gojo scene👁️ lmao, idk if you guys noticed but geto was on the verge of death😭 and gojo asked for his last words, geto said them, then gojo says something and they HAVE THE AUDACITY TO NOT SHOW US WHAT HE SAID (not even on the manga bro, but we have some crazy theory’s about it tho🫡), and then geto replies to that with “at least hit me with some curses at my end”, and then they don’t fucking show what happens👁️ so yeah I really wanted to hear your theories on it, I guess we’ll discuss it on the next seasons!!🫂 can’t wait for it! SORRY FOR THE LONG ASS BIBLE I JUST LEFT AS COMMENT😭 but when it comes to jujutsu kaisen I’m damn serious🗿 lmaooo, forgot to mention that without rika, yuuta is really powerful! As the movie mentions, he’s the descendant of a really strong sorcerer and is a super distant relative to gojo😭 so yeah, plus you guys just watched that fight with Geto, he’s like a copycat! Learns so fucking fast, has lots of cursed energy, if we compare it to real life, he’s basically a nerd haha, so yeah he’s gifted y’all

Watching this again after know the back story of Gojo and Geto, this movie is really sad, Gojo understand Geto because they went through "that incident" but at the end two best friend move to different path, can't wait for season 2!! Yuta is going to be one of the main character in future, he's so awesome.

I believe an art book or a special edition of the manga for the movie confirmed that Gojo says "welcome home" to Geto which knowing the context of their backstory it really hurts me more

the parallels between yuta and yuji are crazy cuz yuta has the “queen of curses” rika and yuji has the “king of curses” sukuna and theyre like literally polar opposites in regards to their cursed energy and their fighting styles and even their personalities n stuff it’s soo cool. and yes the creator of jjk literally drops the craziest shit on u and doesn’t tell u anything about it until like way later in the story he’s insane

I like how PD mentions how Yuji and Yuta are complete opposites because that's what the mangaka intended with their characters as protagonists! Yuji is this super energetic and almost puppy like character meanwhile Yuta is very soft spoken and timid but ultimately both are extremely loyal to those thy care about. Also their powers are very much foils of each other. Yuji has almost no cursed energy but is very physically advanced as we know but his curse of Sukuna is manifested internally meanwhile Yuta isn't that great at physical combat but he has an almost infinite amount of cursed energy and his curse Rika manifest externally.

from what I remember, thats a theory based on Japanese fans trying to read gojos lips and making connections with other manga panels, etc etc! There’s no official source that says word by word what gojo said, akutami himself has avoided the question haha, but he did give us hint on it with a response to that question from him in a interview too! Plus there’s the light novel that they made to promote the movie, it’s like a detailed script of them on that last scene, the saddest and gayest thing I’ve read🧍 haha, so we can make an idea from all that!, I can send u some links if you want! <3 but I agree welcome home breaks my heart too😭

This movie is based on Volume 0 of JJK. Volume 0 was actually a sort of one-off that Gege Akutami wrote, but people loved it so much that Gege continued on to write JJK, with Itadori now being the main character instead. You can kind of tell with how Yuta has so much main character energy. Some fun facts, there were a lot of things here that were movie original and not actually in the manga. The entire demon attack on the three cities was not actually shown in that much detail in the manga. That moment with Nanami is actually the previous record of 4 consecutive Black Flashes that they mentioned in JJk, also a movie original moment. Todo also wasn't originally shown. The fight between Gojo and Miguel was only a couple pages. Basically the movie expanded on a lot of moments and connected itself more to the anime. It's funny that you guys mention that it felt like there wasn't enough fighting at that part because there's even less in the manga. I also have so much shit to say about Gojo and Geto but I risk way too many spoilers. I'll just say I can't wait for people to learn their story.

I also wanted to point out that one thing I think the movie does extremely well is that it doesn’t require you to have seen the first season to enjoy the show! When I went to see this in theaters I took a friend who never seen the show at all to watch it and she said it was a really good movie and could see herself getting into the show. And I think it would be interesting to watch the show knowing all the info you learn just from the movie like you already know about the second years and you get a glimpse of the Kyoto students so basically you just watch the show with a different main crew. //Below may be a spoiler to some people so stops reading if you don’t want to maybe reading anything that might be a spoiler but this is just something that someone pointed out to me as someone that watched the movie first and then season 1. // Also you watch the show being like “wait Geto is here I though Gojo kills him in the movie” which is something I never thought about as someone already knowing that Geto is working as like a puppet master behind the scenes in the show so that gives one to question why is Geto alive and why does he act so different in the show compare to here as PD mentioned during the movie?

It’s not a spoiler it’s just an observation someone told me as someone that watched the movie first and then watched the first season. I will edit it a little so it’s more ambiguous but I think it’s something to point out that people don’t notice when they watch the movie after they’ve watched the first season

After watching the movie I realized why Soobin (TXT) is literally in love with Yuuta lol also why in the first season the characters/antagonists were wondering where he was since they probably heard stories about him.
