I agree with you PD, people who thought this show glorifies the ANSP aren't understanding the concept of a fictional piece. They think if you show just one agent who isn't a total piece of shit like the team leader who's a hostage, that means they glorify the whole history of the ANSP. Same with Youngro's father, he's a bad politician, a scumbag but also a father who cares for his family. But some people can't wrap their head around that, they think in an organisation like that everyone has to be portrayed as totally evil.

yess and I think maybe one of the major problems is that much of the deliberation about this came before the show even aired. so some people already had it in their minds what this show was trying to portray and not understanding the context. political jargon isn't easy to understand, so people just took it the wrong way. i think they've done an excellent job with towing the line here. also coming off of Sky Castle where the same writers made awful characters act in a funny ridiculous way sometimes, i was already used to it, but it may come across differently to a new viewer of their work.

I think that reply 1988 would be great as a replacement, I feel like PD and Blaire would genuinely enjoy it. It's not an incredibly fast paced show like penthouse or Cloy, but its one of the greatest Korean dramas ever with the fourth highest ratings in Korea. It's also incredibly emotionally invoking whether you're laughing or crying.
