Dia

I’ve never actually watched the show, just the first episode and some highlights, but I enjoyed the gp999 journey so I might check this out with you!

Erd'na

I think people mentioned the voting system is because of GP999. It was contested debate whether they should use the "cell system" moving forward. It was controversial in a sense that good contestant paired with unpopular or bad one gets eliminated early in the show.

A.D

thanks pd! excited to watch your journey with this :D

Dan

This was the most unsuccessful season from Produce seasons, but so cool watching them being successful after debuting.

Thabit Ayob

Sorry i might be a mood breaker. Didn't like any of the produce101 series or it's derivatives (including planet 999) tbh. Editing is bad, not giving any time screen to most of the contestants. Too much manipulation and the voting system is already flawed and gets talented people to be in the shadows and eliminated. And then rigged. Aaand this produce48 was just a mess tbh, gave it a try until ep 7 or 8 and dumped it. The only season i finished was pd101 s2

Dan

I hope u also react to other Produce seasons after this. They are great and Produce program was a big turning point of Kpop.

Erd'na

Just gonna leave it here. If you want to download PD48 from a different source. There are english subtitles in here, just look for it. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DNFYAKrWucIerZyYiZkBC_X6LTiykmcE

The labels have always been thrown in your face in the PRODUCE series. I quite like the lack of emphasis of company labels in Girls Planet 999 (and most likely because there's too many to mention). Edit: Oh my goodness, all the cringe is coming back. Oh nooooo. Edit #2: Audition basis for any of the 48 or 46 groups in Japan would be how charming they are to the fans. How good are you at showing fanservice, as they are entertainers not just idols. I mean, there was an AKB48 member that got famous because of her "salty" treatment of fans, rofl. As they said, they don't receive proper dance or voice lessons. They simply learn everything by watching videos of their seniors. If you happen to be good at singing or dancing, that's a great bonus. Edit #3: Who debuted from F class? That's Kim Sohye from I.O.I; she's an actress now. Edit #4: Jurina debuted when she was only 10 or 11 years old, PD. 10 OR 11 YEARS OLD. Crazy, I know. Edit #5: 48 and 46 groups only have that kind of training in Japan. Other big companies in Japan **do** train their talents before they make them debut.

Otto

o...m..g.. my produce 48 journey all over again here in Patreon, let's do this

Anne

https://dramacool.rs/ this is a better site than kiss asian. The video quality is the same, but the ad only shows twice if I remember.

Sascha

One of the former YG trainees is Jinny from Secret Number, she's the rapper you liked a lot in Fire Saturday

Sarah 세라

I’m ready for the waterworks!

Sascha

I have never watched this show and it's so funny seeing so many familiar faces from groups I eihter like or absolutely love like Everglow. Seeing Sihyeon and Yiren with Yena is so adorable and funny. Really excited for this journey here.

I think the main reason akb doesn't train their members is because there are too many of them. It's not profitable enough for the company to put time and effort into so many girls when only 16 members (usually the most popular) are chosen for the title track in a single album. The songs themselves don't really highlight much individual skill either, as a lot of their songs have a few people singing each line, and akb sometimes get a bad rep of lipsyncing on stage. Unlike newer groups, they don't have to rely on the actual songs to reel people in as they can depend on the dedication of the fans to their favourite member. Personally, I do think that akbs recent style after the izone members have comeback has changed a bit, such as akb48s most recent single putting a lot of emphasis on the dance moves, with even a dance practice to go along with it. This is all just personal opinion and speculation though!

Daniela Padilla

in my honest opinion i would prefer if you didn't know the rankings cause i think it will make it more enjoyable and it will make the finale more amazing. of course what the majority wants should be the decision! at the end of the day the people at fault for the rigging were the people with power and in charge, all the girls deserve the success they got and do not deserve the hate that came from the issue since they got nothing to do with it. ultimately i wish you wouldn't search for the ranks and just come up with you guesses and that. but whatever you decide pd if fine with me!

sakeofblake

in terms of the manipulated rankings, i would say look at them after the final episode. that way you can guess along the way and build the final group from your perspective as a producer and give your final thoughts on what the actual line up would have been like

Peter Yuen

No ad pop up (https://dramacool.rs/drama-detail/produce-48)

Tae

The voting wasnt manipulated until the final top 20 so most rankings up until that point will be more or less legit

everett

ah i've been waiting for this! produce 48 and subsequently produce x 101 are what got me into kpop so i'm really excited to watch this with you as i haven't seen it since it was airing. what a rollercoaster!

Erd'na

PD, i'm glad you start PD48. In one of your iz*one videos. You've described them as the best trainees in the industry. I wanted you to watch you at least the first two episodes of PD48. Because as you can see, they aren't properly trained. And that's why alot of people didn't like PD48. Because they felt that j-line participants didn't deserved to debut because of lack of polish skills. For me, i think that was the charm of the show. How undertrain Japanese participants overcome the challenges of competing. And to be honestly, that mentality of being an underdog carried over as members of iz*one. And like you said, they kept improving each comeback.

Anonymous

PD, I suggest not looking at the list of trainees that were unjustly rigged out of the competition until you get to the very end of the show. Some things will only make sense when you know the entire context, in my opinion. Edit #2: I'd love to see your final 12 lineup, PD! While we know who got it, it's still fun to make our own list.. I will be honest, I initially didn't like the members that got into IZ*ONE because of many things. I felt so robbed at the time because I would have loved to see a different IZ*ONE experience. I can't say I'd have love them as much as I did because I did, after all, fall in love with the IZ*ONE that we know today.

Jannelle

Hey PD I know you mentioned you were hoping some Japanese members would get above a C, Takeuchi Miyu got an A but they didn’t focus on that probably to make the battle between Sakura and Jurina more intense

Tesa

i don't think you need to make your own ranking, but i think it would be nice to just comment on some performances from a more critical standpoint maybe? i would definitely appreciate that as someone who isn't a huge izone fan (i just like their music) and i'm watching this for the competition aspect and because i've enjoying hearing your critiques during iland, loud, gp999 :)

hayun lee

now that youre starting this, i feel like it should be clarified that in jpop theres TWO types of "idols." theres idol groups (e.g. akb48) and theres regular performance groups (e.g. exile tribe, e-girls). people often conflate these two since in korea kpop groups are all called idols, but this misunderstanding has people assuming all jpop artists are untalented when thats completely untrue; idols are an extremely specific type of singer that are treated more as general entertainers, but the jpop group market isnt limited to them.

CRAYON weiwen

Thanks PD for watching this show, join Patreon since Fiesta era and never thought we'll re-watch this together, this is my 8th time re-watch this show and it still very entertaining. PD can ignore the rigging stuff and finish the show first since the rigged was done at the end of the show(refer report release from court), the TOP20 contestants are there with true votes from National Producers.(I guess) PD still can have fun watching who will end up being the TOP20. IZ*ONE is IZ*ONE, I believe they're together because of destiny, all members are moving to their next journey, the one who rigged the show had been send to jail and even released from jail after 2 years prisoned, if anyone still want to blame the IZ*ONE members, you just need to get a life.

Anonymous

It's crazy to see Produce after so many years, and recognizing Dayeon was the craziest thing! I didn't remember how full Produce was of memories and references to past seasons lmao, it was quite nostalgic

A.D

I think we're so far forward now it doesn't hurt to know the list, id like to see your thoughts anyway its nice for those people to get a bit of love as you already know izone right! Theres some girls who absolutely should have debuted that didn't but as you said that does not mean izone did not deserve to debut and we'll always love and remember them. If you don't care about it then why not, if its something that you think would ruin it for you then you can just leave it until the end or forget it

Anonymous

It is interesting to watch the show again, and because I know how the Japanese idol's system work, I already have expectations before the show, I am just a little sad for the girls, but AKB have so so so many members, I guess it is difficult for the company to keep track. And that they often sing in a big group, and lean towards fanservice and have fun on stage and in that respect, I think its quite different. The Japanese idols they cute are often quite cute and friendly, and probably had a closer relationship with fans due to the number of events. In regard to the rigging though, I guess we have very different perspectives because I have followed the show live and didn't know that the show was rigged. There are always unexpected members announced in the final line up at least for me, so I was not shocked, I just didn't know they were popular and are a little surprised back then. However, I have always ended up liking all the members at the end anyway, so it wasn't a big problem for me. And I really do like the IZ*ONE girls. However, I personally do not agree with asking the question; do the members who have debuted not deserve to be there. I mean, practically, the ones who are not voted in the top 12 should not be in the group. And that I love Chaeyeon so so much and have been supported her since the show started and watched kpop star 3 and sixteen, I was really nervous when they announced the ranking then. However, the whole purpose of the show is to produce a group with the most voted members. It might not even be proportional to their skills or anything, but just popularity. Is that an ideal situation? Maybe not, because the real final lineup might not produce the best group. But at least the show did what it said to be, and fairness for me is the basic. Cause I mean, why did the girls work so hard for? I understand that they have all gained certain popularity because of the show, but that should be what they deserved. I can accept evil editing, but not rigging, I mean they played on what they can in Girls Planet 999, I did not like watching it but it is definitely better than rigging the show. I have to stay very clear that there is nothing to do with the girls who made it or who didn't. And even I knew the show was rigged, I continued supporting them. However, it should be taken notice that the girls who are in IZ*ONE had so many great opportunities and experiences that are important in their career, and in this Kaeun is not given that. And she obviously did not get an afterschool comeback and went to become an actress. Which might be good for her, but not her dream after all. Which back to the point, the question should be why are the girls who end up in the top 12, do not deserve debuting in IZ*ONE?

excellen

I'll be watching for the first time to check how Juri's journey went in PD48. She mentioned before in her vlog series how different the training systems are between Korea and Japan are. She also told how hard it was for her to adapt when she started training in Korea since she wasn't used to practicing till late at night and she still had to study korean in between. Honestly I have a lot of respect for Juri since she only trained for 4-5 months but always could keep up with the other Rocket Punch girls who trained for longer.

Irving

Yessss produce 48 finally!!!!

Thank you PD for watching PD48 to share your thoughts & provide your analysis. I dare not revisit PD48 after I watch the whole series once because I believe I would get quite emotional while re-watching, & I'm never a fan of these kind of reality shows, either music or other categories. So I'm glad you do it with me this time. I totally agree about your thoughts in the summary about the vote rigging. It's all over now. I believe within IZONE hiatus 3 months (the vote rigging expose period), all 12 IZONE members also face tremendous pressure as well, so it's not the matter of "fair" or "luck" issue, at the end of the day, all girls both members & outcast participants suffered. You mentioned about the length of each episode see if any parts to be cut during recording. I'd say nothing much but only one you should remind of: just like quite a few other Korean variety programs, the result/vote scene (just before announcing which member could qualify for the next round) in each stage within PD48 just repeat & repeat, not once but they do it 3, 4, 5 times & it's very very annoying & sickening. From this episode, I also pay attention to the compliments that the "final IZONE members" given between themselves, like Yena to Eunbi, Eunbi to Chaeyeon, Sakura's expression ('cos she didn't spak much), etc. I''m looking forward to your upcoming episodes. Have a nice day. p.s. It's my first time I post it here since I join your Patron in January. By this opportunity, I like to thank you for all the Patron content, though I just watch a few I'm interested. I enjoy it very much. Sometimes I just got lazy to leave my say.

Mattie H.

Woooooww.... I mean i didn't stan Iz*one as hard as I would have liked considering how much impact this show had on me. But I'm only in the opening of part one and the song literally has me in tears. I'm not a huge fan of survival shows, but man there's something about PD48... I didn't realize I was so attached, but it looks like I need to catch up on Iz*one content now lol

Anonymous

A very young Kim Dayeon of Kep1ar is here as well.

Meruka Hinaru

This season of Produce might have been the "less" popular one, but is the only one that I've actually watched when it was airing, so I'm excited to see it again with you PD haha It's a very weird but happy experience seeing familiar faces after knowing where they are now

Jared Mathews

Since you already know who makes it and who doesn't I think looking at the actual results is fine. Especially since this happened so many years ago anytime you want to look up where a person is now you'll probably see the rigging come up so might as well get it out of the way now. I thought something was weird after you "recognized" Na Go Eun when she wasn't even on the screen anymore :) I never got into IzOne but I'm watching for all the people that debuted elsewhere such as Everglow, Purple Kiss, and Alexa

tigerhoshi

Re-watching this for idk how many times already but it still feels so fascinating especially because we know where most of the girls are now! PD48 has a special place in my heart out of all Produce seasons mainly because of its theme, I had tears seeing how many friendships have been created between Korean and Japanese trainees. Also now that we have finished GP999, it is awesome to see the short previews of the mentors here teaching the trainees (e.g. Soyou correcting/guiding the pitch). In my opinion and you'll probably notice it as we go by the eps, mentors on this show actually HELPED. I mean they did in GP999 too, but there were stuff I read about them actually just seeing the trainees once a week or so. It's probably the same for PD48, but overall I just felt like they actually 'trained' the trainees more here compared to GP999. Also, I did like the lack of emphasis on companies of trainees in GP999.

Wiktor

The Recent survival show 'My Teenage Girl' has got to be the most unique and wholesome survival show, turned CUT THROAT. It's one of honestly the BEST survival show's I have seen over the years and I have seen THEM ALL 😂 I strongly recommend checking it out. The finale and group will be formed next week. The show has a smaller cast of trainees, so you will probably get to know them VERY fast and very quickly. I strongly recommend checking out their 'pre-show preparations' on YouTube. It is a VERY VERY good lead up to the show itself and you get an insight to a lot of the trainees, pre-show. The shows concept is also VERY unique for a survival show, with different age groups (11-24+) - Grades 1,2,3,4 battling each other for spots in the debut lineup.

Lex.

My problem with the rigging is that consequences were borne by X1. If I am not mistaken, that is their reason of disbandment. I am not saying that the Izone members are to blamed but it was really unfair for X1 because they had a lot of potential. I mean I think the official reason is that their companies did not reach an agreement but...

Lex.

And regarding how you watch the show, I want you to be like more analytic and to watch the show like you didn't knew who is in Izone because I am really curious about your opinions and rankings (not because of the rigging, I personally don't want that to be mentioned again)

kung lao

Heo Yun Jin from Pledis is in the rumored line up alongside Chaewon and Sakura that is set to debut in 2022 under Hybe Labels

Roki Korea

와 피디님 덕분에 오랜만에 프듀 다시 보네요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

AL

Putting this here so you can skip the voting without feeling like you might miss anything. All the produce seasons have the same voting method: Round 1 & 2 - Vote for 11/12 contestants. Round 3 - Vote for 2 contestants. Round 4 (the final round) - Vote for 1 contestant.

kung lao

The voting starts to be important once you get to episode 4 or 5, they get grades for their performances and get additional ''popularity votes'' that determine their final rankings. Also they lied about C being the highest ranking of the japanese trainees just to successfully get the drama going between Sakura and Jurina, Takeuchi Miyu got an A and Awatate Saho got a B they were from the japanese version of celeb five's song.

Anonymous

I think looking at the "real ranking" list at the end of the last ep would be interesting. So you can give your own opinion, see what the producers wanted and for which girl the viewers actually voted

Di

I haven't seen this show but after watching Girls Planet 999 with you, I am looking to watch this with you as well. I enjoy hearing your opinion and critiques of each performance. I don't know all the members of Iz*one but I am looking forward to see how the girls I do know go and learning of the rest of the iz*one members, as well as some of the girls who end up in other groups as well.

Sascha

I disagree with the point you made about the rigging. Yes Izone turned out to be super successful and every member proofed themselves. BUT thay totally could have been the case for all the trainees who were denied their rightful place in the lineup. I see people arguing that both sides suffered from this scandal and it’s true but the opportunities that come with spending 2.5 very successful years in Izone are so valuable and life changing that I can’t help but feel incredibly sorry and angry for the trainees like Kaeun. Just imagine how different her life and career would look like if she wasn’t denied what was rightfully hers. That’s why I think it isn’t right to ignore the rigging only because all Izone members did a tremendous job in the group after this show. Some of them still got this gift of an incredible career and tons of opportunities along with it without actually properly deserving it since others had more votes. Not their fault obviously & I’m glad it wasn’t made public who it is and that Izone still promoted afterwards but I think acknowledging the injustice towards the wronged trainees is the least we can do.

Liv

PD the last 2 girls Jinny is one of them she’s from secret number

Serena

i watched this a while back (didnt really get into iz*one tho bc they were almost at their last cb and their music wasnt my style) and damn i was heartbroken for so many of my girls who got rigged out of the lineup and even that aside when i made my final debut group i only had like maybe 4 iz*one members in there which also made me very sad. I watched all seasons of Produce and honestly i would love for you to maybe check them all out in the future sometime. Just because I would be very curious to your ideal debut lineups and also just to see how many amazing talented trainees were on these shows who now all debuted in differenr groups.

Christian Oettl

The big question is if you should skip most of the ranking announcements as it is not that important after all this time. And man seeing Kaeun again breaks my heart, she deserved to debut again. And yes the girls aren't responsible for the rigging. And yes Iz*One was really successful but that doesn't mean it wouldn't been like this with her and maybe she wouldn't have turned her back on being an idol. I really hope she has success in the future. Also if you want the full auditions should theoretically be still up on Youtube besides a few like the Nako one where it was said that they performed some strange song and that's why it wasn't even shown. It was really funny just watching PD recognize some of the idols that debuted later on. Rigging aside this season produced a huge amount of groups/idols.

mm

I'm going into this with the mindset that there will alway be more trainees that "deserve" to be in the final lineup than are positions in the final lineup. So I can cheer for every Izone member and still be mad and sad for those who got rigged.

Anonymous

I didn't comment this last time, but the voting system shouldn't matter at the first two legs of the show. I do think it would be worth to know how the voting system changed towards the end as I vaguely even remember it myself, lol.

Anonymous

For me, I was never a huge IZ*ONE stan despite being obsessed with Produce 48. I think at the time of the rigging scandal, it really turned me off from the group. (esp because of how X1 were forced to disband for the same reasons) but now, as give said it’s been years and a lot of trainees have already debuted some even before ex IZ*ONE members, I think it is sad watching someone you root for so har not make it, only to find out they were supposed to. But I think with groups like Lightsum, Everglow, Purple Kiss, Cherry Bullet etc… there’s not so much animosity

Anonymous

I watched P48 many times already but it's fun to see your reactions to it while you're viewing it for the first time. The sequence with Kaeun always makes me sad. IZ*ONE is one of my favorite girl groups ever and I know that we can't change the past but the fact that Kaeun couldn't realize her dream of being in another idol group, only because the show was rigged is still very regrettable.

Anonymous

I have to say I didn’t watch Produce 48 while it aired in 2018 but I started liking Iz*one’s music when I got into Kpop in early 2021 and then started liking their personalities after I watched your videos on Patreon. I learned about the rigging when of the contestants who was supposed to finish in the top 12 debuted in a different group so after I read some articles on it, I was left with mixed feelings. First of all, I feel sorry for the girls who would have made it in the top 12 but got cheated out (especially after hearing Gaeun in this first Episode). They worked hard for the duration of the show just to be unfairly eliminated and their dream to be crushed. On the other hand, I agree with you. At this point in time there is no point in getting worked up over it. The contestants moved on with their career and (as far as I know) got compensated and the producers who rigged the voting got punished so I feel like it is water under the bridge. When you said the members who were rigged into the group also earned their place while being in the group it reminded me of something I thought about during the finale of Girls Planet 999. Just before they announced the final line-up and all the finalists stood on the stage, I thought to myself that all those girls deserved to be in Kep1er and I would be fine with any of them being in the group (of course I had my favourites but objectively all of them had the skills to be in the final top 9). Without having seen Produce 48 I think it will be the same. There will be more than 12 girls who deserve to debut but unfortunately that is the game. So long story short I think it is important to acknowledge the rigging but, in the end, there is nothing anyone can do about it anymore so it really isn’t a major issue when it comes to enjoying Iz*One and their content (at least to me). Regarding your question, to me it would be very interesting to see what your final top 12 would be. Would you change anything or would you still pick all Iz*One Members in the final top 12 after seeing the show? I think it would just be a bit of fun while experiencing this show for the first time. But in the end, like I said it is not really important so however you decide is alright with me. Sorry for the long comment, I am really looking forward to the next episodes PD.

Otto

Probably people already posted this, but I'm too lazy to read all the comments, the last girl from former YG , Jinny is the main rapper of Secret Number, and also I didn´t know Minji, the new main vocal of Secret Number was here too

Lisa H

i watched p48 as it aired, but whew watching it back now makes me so sad lmao, it really felt like a humiliation ritual for the japan girls 😭

Lisa H

damn miyu got an A but they barely mentioned it

Anonymous

I think that it would be interesting for you to guess who was supposed to be in the final line up and then look it up to see if you were right but only after you watch the whole show and finale. if that makes sense

Anonymous

To answer your question about the idol culture in Japan versus South Korea it will take a while to write maybe a whole paper. I don't usually write comments but I wanted to share my thoughts since I was a heavy AKB48 fan and J-idol fan before I got into K-pop. It is true, the J-idol culture is different from Korea. J-idol focuses on fan service and being cute. If you do research AKB48's tagline is an idol you can meet. You can go to handshake events and their theaters. K-pop focuses on clean moves and being perfect. The reason why I got into AKB48 early on was their charisma and their unique music videos on their B-sides. Now it isn't unique anymore with older members gone. But if you watch their documentary you will see why it is so different and why they see Korean contestants as real artists. The group is too big to have a training system like Korea anyway. I suggest to watch some of their older videos. Also, the others are right there are idols that are trained and skilled in dancing and singing like EXILE Tribe and E-Girls. Hikaru from Klepper is from a company that trains its trainees. It is just the fan service idol culture dominates Japan's entertainment industry more. I can go on but my fingers are getting tired from typing lol.

Anonymous

hmm, i think it’s distasteful to publicly speculate who the iz*one members replaced. i think it’s a lot more respectful to save those kinds of comments for after.

Nunu

actually Exile Tribe and E-girls are not idols. They are singers and dancers. I noe that Johnnys has a training system also. That how Johnnys Juniors come about. If i'm not mistaken, Hello Project also has a training system. But as a whole, J-pop training system is not has strict as K-pop training system, which is actually the beauty of Jpop. The idols 'grow' together with their fans. I'm not sure if its becos of this 'growing' together, idol groups in japan tend to have longer 'idol life'

Anonymous

I've got to defend my girl Miyu she was actually a Japanese trainee who got an A rank (she was part of the group of 3 who did the the original version of Celeb Five), obviously the editing of the episode switched the timeline of the auditions but I feel like they glossed over how good her rank was as one of the J trainees because it didn't fit with the suspense of the Jurina and Sakura cliffhanger for the next episode.

kawash

Hello pd, first thx you got watching PD48, it's been a long time. About the rigging I don't think it's important until the end of the show. Also I think you should watch the prologue or ep 0 of the show since there is a lot of legendary moment on it. It also help to understand some voting results. For exemple hyewon had a huge anime community behind her votes. About hyewon I think you will probably be very surprised by her journey and minju too. You should also download the ep for a better quality. Link to ep 0 with sub: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pla8QN5ddrJs2DoSmQveimAzDPtuzBpP/view You should probably watch it after the neko ya challenge since there is some spoiler in it

NM

wait till the end to look up the manipulation list - it wasn't izone's fault but its also important to acknowledge the girls who were robbed

NM

izone has disbanded now but its also fair to root for other talented girls - also it might spark interest in girls who are now in other girl groups ie lightsum, purple kiss etc

daniel

this is sooooo iconic!

V

I definitely think that you should read the list of the rigged placements next episode just because you barley started watching, and I feel like it wouldn’t contribute to how you watch the show. it’s still interesting to see the list personally, just to see where those girls are at now, and also I think the whole rigging aspect of the show would be already talked about, and you can just focus on the show.

채채즈

Finally got to watch produce 48 with you PD for the nth time, I agree that it is interesting to watch it now since many of them debuted in different groups already. if you're going to watch their last concert, one the story, after pd48, I suggest you watch their first concert first, eyes on me. It has the movie version and also concert ver where the concert is like in the concert with VCR and stages, the movie changes the VCR section with behind the scenes. My suggestion is based on the experience, because in their first concert there is the audience which elevates the feels of the concert and their last concert are online with no audience, so the feels are different and the songs obviously different too. AND if you want to read the list of the real ranking it's better at the last episode, because the rigged ranking is also only on the last episode as far as I know and based off some comments above that says it as reveals in the court.

채채즈

it's because the stages in the show is not in chronological

Anonymous

Actually not only the final was rigged because they intervened with the votes from the beginning of the show, so no one really knows what is the final line up

kyujinz

i find the cnc trainees the most interesting because they all split up to separate companies and ended up being in groups i love, yubin debuted in bling bling yujeong in lightsum and dayeon in kep1er lol

lllllllllllalaaa

I'd love for you to watch the show as if you didn't know who makes the final 12, I know thats not possible like that, but it would be really interesting to see your perspective and opinions. I also wouldn't look up who the confirmed rigged members are until the end of the show tbh, even if it has been years, it'd still be really interesting to actually hear your opinion on the "rigged" girls without knowing that they should've made it into the group. Like.. would you have them in your personl top 12 or not or would you suspected them to make it or not. One thing tho, theres alot of "final ranking lists" going around but none of them are confirmed. Apparently up until the top 20 there was no rigging, that one "top 20 list" is supposed to be from EP 11. The real final line up was never officially released, only the 2 members who should've made it.. bc even before the top 20 the rankings for some girls fluctuatet and changed alot from week to week, so at the end of the day no one can 100% say who was truly rigged into iz*one. ev People have their speculations and yes it really doesn't even matter anymore bc its been so long but I just hate to see how to this day some people insist its confirmed which members were rigged in, when in reality the only real confirmed ones are the 2 members ranks who should've made it. I mean you watched gp999 and there the ranking wasnt manipulated, there were also some members who took a while to get some recognition and their rankings changed over time.

Yes please watch Eyes on Me before OTS, Eyes on Me is a awesome concert with full of hope of their beginning journey, and OTS the saddest concert...

I agree that all the Izone girls are not "not deserving" where they are, they all brought something to the group and they succeeded as they are but what rigging did was stealing some others' chances, since you've learned about Gaeun, as an example as she said it was her last attempt and things could have been much different for her, all the girls deserved that chance equally Although it might not affect us that much in my opinion rigging still should be cared about no matter how long ago it was because it literally changed the trajectory of some of the girls' careers and lives

Yesss, I'm 100% agree with you, and the example with gp999 is also very true because the result is always unpredictable for most. a lot of changes happened too in both shows.

For me I watched the show from the beginning (I.O.I) and also voted for my favorite trainees so it really made me mad that the producer of the show manipulated the scores of the trainees. The end result may not be bad but the problem is that all these trainees had a dream and it was just shitted on for money. Do I feel that some deserve it more than others? Yes. It is not because I don't think they didn't make the effort, it is because the real goal of this program was making a group that was made of peoples votes. Like we paid for voting. It was not much money but either way people paid a certain amount of money to vote for their favorite trainee. Some of the trainees that had made the lineup but got cut didn't even make a debut and this result changed the lives of some trainees. So I was a little shady after Iz*One debuted and really didn't follow them much. Not that I blame the girls because the girls who debuted are not accountable for the result but I was a little turned off. For the difference of the system between Japan and Korea I have learned that the japanese fans like to see their idol grow. I have heard that fans love when their idol gets more skilled as the time passes by.

Since you already know the members of Izone, I would go ahead and look up who was rigged out of the final lineup early on so that you have the full context. It was never announced who the members who benefitted from the rigging were, so I don't think you should speculate on that, especially since, as you learned in GP999, popularity is often independent of skill, so there's really no way to know. I do think that you should give your opinions on your favorite trainees/who you would have voted for if the show were on air now, since I thought those insights in GP999 were really cool.

Lol watching Produce48 after GP999, i was pleasantly surprised seeing her here as a cute youngster considering how fierce she started the premiere episode in Girls Planet.
