As a writer as well, I 1000% understand the fixating on shows and specific characters. Through this entire show, I've been absolutely in love with the way Yohan was written and the first time I watched this episode, I actually saw the ending coming because we started with Yohan losing K, who is arguably one of the few people we see Yohan genuinely care about through the show. It only seemed like the narrative had to be matched in Gaon—Gaon also had to lose someone he cared about, the same way Yohan did. Their stories had to be parallel.

You know pd I'm glad you appreciated suhyeons character this much cause believe me alot of people found her annoying and alot hated her which I don't understand why

The old man who got beaten to death was also innocent, implying that Yohan knew "someone" from the slums would have to die for the others to rise against. thus he would've broken the promise.

my reaction to this episode was 'everything hurts and nothing is okay' when i first watched it. Although I had some issues with Soohyun it was sad to see her die. for Oh Jinjoo, I think part of her arc is how she was left in the dark and tried to find her way while Gaon and Yohan were seemingly working together. Yohan deliberately left her in the dark and that somewhat backfired (I think Yohan was very sceptical towards both of his associate judges in the beginning). since she was not corrupt like the others she eventually came back to Yohans side. but yeah it would have been better if we saw her being used by the other side a bit more, it would have been more satisfying.

Soohyun deserves better than this my god ... Her death was so random
