the ending made me tear up again. the parents' letters were so sweet! i also always love learning about different traditions! in Serbia where i'm from, both the 31st and 1st are equally important as we give gifts on New Year's Day (as you would for Western Christmas) and we also prepare a feast for the family with many festive dishes :)

in the groups dynamics Hongjoong is known as the Dad and Seonghwa is the mom, so them turning into the Gpa and Gma is very fitting lol also just letting you know their new song and music video with Universe 'Don't Stop' has released! it's soo good. like mini movie.

Ah I really enjoyed this episode because they just got to have fun together. I find it interesting that you didn’t see Yunho as silly before this. I guess you haven’t seen much Ateez content other than the previous series but Yunho is actually one of the silliest members. He’s always super funny and laughs all the time. I’d say that he, Wooyoung, and San get up to the most antics. Also it was so cute when San was like “she (Wooyoung’s mom) is my mom too” because the two have them have said many times that both families see the other as another son because of how close Wooyoung and San are. Wooyoung is pretty open about his family too, especially his younger brother Kyungmin who is only like six years old I think. Overall I loved the family dynamics in this episode especially since Ateez are so tight-knit

I never thought about American way of celebrating some holidays (and by that I mean: the apparent complete lack of consistency among different households - or at least that's what I gathered from popculture) as an aftermath of lack of a universal cultural background. That's so interesting! I always wondered why traditions were mentioned at family level and not at country/region level. In Poland, Christmas is the family holiday. With the country being overwhelmingly catholic, everyone celebrates it and visits family at the 24th/25th/26th. I'ts also the holiday with a looot of traditions. New Year's Eve is only a couple days later, so it's for friends and having fun, much more individual. You go out or throw a big party, shoot fireworks and celebrate. Schools and universities are on break since around 20-23.12, sometimes up until 6.01 (national holiday), so some people go on vacation in that time.
