This was the episode I cried too. I also wish I hadn't found out about a certain plot point from youtube videos, makes me wonder how I'd be feeling watching it fresh without that knowledge.

The scenes between Ji Yeong and Sae Byeok were my favourite of the whole series, so I totally agree with you PD, this was by far the most emotional episode. Really looking forward to your reactions to the end of this season. So far people either loved or hated it so I'm curious what both of you will think about it.

When i first watched this episode btw, it felt like a Red Wedding kinda episode to me when it comes to the level of devastation & sadness. Took me like an hour or so to recover and calm down lol

The thing with Sangwoo and Ali i think it represents how young foreign people get scammed all around the world. Sangwoo said "Look for people who are young like you" because those people are naive and easy to fool like he did it with Ali. It's kinda sad but interesting.

This episode was insane...it's kind of messed up, he choose the old guy as partner because he is a nice guy and he risked to play with a weaker player and maybe if he was more selfish.. basically this episode is saying that even if you do the right thing morally, life is gonna throw some shit at you

hahaha. tbh that's my producing brain. I'm not very good at writing completely original works or directing a project that's entirely my own, I get too lost in my own bias. But if there's one thing I can say I'm genuinely good at is looking at existing material and looking at it, and knowing how to change it or make it better or adapt it in different ways, etc. etc. It's because of this I've gotten to give my feedback on some K-Pop songs and music videos!

damn this episode made me so sad i already had the spoiler that jiyeong and ali were gonna die but still got me very sad that ali died because i really liked him, i think i just didn't cry because i was mostly angry at how sangwoo played him but with jiyeong's death and that scene where she let herself lose i cried so much because it was such an emotional moment and they formed such a beautiful and honest bond in a brief and awful time that got me really wishing she and saebyeok could get out of there together 😭 this shit sucks man

I don't cry very easily but I always shed a tear with Sae-byeok and Ji-yeong. On my rewatch with you guys, I'm finding that I like Sang-woo's character? Aside from the financial crimes, everything that he's done so far is something that most people that I know would do. Even his kindness to Ali from the beginning is something that he essentially does to feel better about himself. I saw an interview with the director where he said that Sang-woo is not an entirely evil person, but at the beginning he gives money to Ali even though he's broke because Ali is clearly worse off than he is, and he still feels morally obligated to be the better person. I think it's an interesting statement on how easy kindness can come when it's not directly you vs. them.

I found out like just last week or so that apparently me agreeing with Sang-woo's choices in this episode is a hot take???? idk about y'all but if I'm in this situation I'm here to w i n. It's that or die and in this particular situation my competitive/logical nature wouldn't let me just accept it or let me give up without a legit reason like Jiyeong did. (Also much like the candy game if I had to die on any round it'd be one of these 2 bc of the quick death.) And to add to the comments here about thinking about plot/directing or writing choices while watching the show, I'm the same as PD here. My teacher and director brains won't let me simply watch, I gotta pick it apart from the jump and unravel the thread lol. I was annoyed at myself for calling the ending of the whole series in episode 2 and then got even more upset watching it all unfold. Tis a curse I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think understanding Sangwoo's choices in this particular episode alone is a hot take. Whats a hot take is calling him a good person and acting like none of the choices he made through the series were questionable or "bad". Which a lot of people are doing
