I agree with Kim Gura, but I don't find Seo Janghoon to be the crotchety character at all! In fact, as I've gotten to know him through Knowing Bros, I'm continually surprised by how sensitive and level-headed he is. I think he's really found his niche as a "soft spoken, but __*insert emotion here*___ when necessary" type character.

As Lauren commented, I don't believe Seo Janghoon has a "cranky old dude" comedy style. I would argue that Janghoon doesn't have a comedy style at all. I enjoy him in every show I watch where he is in, but I don't think he is particularly funny, I don't think he's trying to be funny. From what I can tell, he gets into "arguments" with some of the cast because he is very reasonable/logical (probably why I love him on the shows he's in, having one 'realistic'/logical person is a nice change), and he also fact checks some people when they are being unrealistic, which is kind of a pet peeve for some when he nitpicks like that. I also generally don't like the cranky old dude comedy style like Kim Gura has, but Tak Jaehoon is one exception for me.

I think Seo Janghoon is an accidental MC, he was introduced by Haha to showbiz and apparently his first few appearances he grumbled and sighed a lot due to his injury and tiredness, which is completely opposite during his basketball days when he was labelled a national hero. Many Koreans were surprised ay his soft hearted character behind his giant 6 foot 9 frame. As time goes on, that kinda became his character and i think he didnt fake it, it is just him, being straightforward and aoft hearted, which is what brought him to become one of the famous MC in Korea.

He is actually Yoo Jae Suk jr. Yoo Jae Suk is part of the famous comedian class of 1991, along with Kim Young Man, Park Soo Hong, Kim Gook Jin etc.
