Part of the reason I hate yi seo is how she treats geunsoo honestly

claireisuche

As an African, it literally hurts when I travel abroad . This is because of the look of pure disappointment when I tell people I’m African instead of American or Canadian.

It really goes from episode to episode how much I like Yi so. In some episodes, I loooooove her, and sometimes I'm like "why you be like that?".

Malaki.H

Also yi seo is just so mean and rude and sometimes that's justified like with the bully but with geunsoo and toni and other situations I just don't like how she treats them

lol not everyone in skz being 15. lol Jisung is 20 internationally. (sept. 14th, 2000) legit 7 days before me lol. and yess i always felt bad for Geun-won. u could see he was genuinely sorry about the accident, and remember if it wasn't for his dick head off a dad he wanted to turn himself in and let saero-yi out of jail. his dad mad shit so much worse for him. and how tf did i not peep the boyz song playing in the background during the dinner scene when this show fist came out.

agreed! it really ruins her character for me :/

Connor (Cyndr)

Yiseo really is a strong example of a character who is fundamentally a bad person who is becoming a better person not because she want's to be a better person but because it benefits her. Which I agree is still character development, even if it's not positively motivated. This is kinda why I and others are torn on her as a character, cause she does a lot of really shitty things, but she also does some really nice things that redeem her previous behaviors. She's very prejudiced, not because she's necessarily racist or transphobic, but because she sees it more practical to avoid situations where they could be harmed because of other prejudiced people. And that's still really shitty, and that's obviously the main reason prejudice is maintained worldwide. However, she's trying to get over this mindset of "this doesn't benefit me" because she wants to help Saeroyi, and possibly (but possibly not) because some of the other team members are warming up to her.

Connor (Cyndr)

Also her nice actions definitely don't redeem her shitty actions, BUT it does make her a more interesting character, and it makes us want to see her develop more.

im not 100% sure about the ban on people specifically from africa and the middle east, but the "no-foreigner" businesses in general started because of us military occupation and thats why they are more prevalent in businesses near military bases. ever since the korean war there have been multiple instances of american soldiers raping women, prostituting women (kijichon), there was the yangju highway incident, and more recently breaking social distancing rules that caused covid to break out even more in sk. all the while they are never properly punished for it because SOFA dictates that the us military are responsible to look over crimes committed by us military personnel, so no foreigner businesses were meant to be protection for koreans. that said, its now debated a lot because despite the abuse the us military enact on south korea it shouldnt be conflated with people like the migrant workers that now have zero legal protection as a result. and while this is the origin, there are definitely many businesses that conduct this policy for other reasons so you just need to build your opinion from there

i HATEEDDD the way yiseo was so shameless in regard to asking geunsoo to leave and then "apologizing." yiseo apologizing so she gains and not actually bc she feels remorse for geunsoo is so infuriating

The moment Dae Hee learns that Saeroyi bought a building is my fav part of this episode, the look of pure shock and confusion

Tanya Rai

As a friend, she shouldn’t have done that but as the drama has established she is a sociopath, so I think it suits her character more even if it is indeed infuriating as viewers. However, atleast she doesn’t deceive him with her apology and expressed her intention behind apologising. What she did is sooo very wrong but nothing makes me hate characters more then the ones who keep side leads in loop even when they love the main lead.
