Honestly, I like the show for the performances and Interactions, otherwise, it's a joke. Of course the groups with the biggest fandom will shoot to the top everytime, and letting fans vote for 3 groups leaves room for sabotaging🙄 they should have kept it at limited fan voting

Anonymous

Can you please reupload this?🥺

Julia

i was just about to watch your ep 3 for itaewon class... why you do this to me

Julia

anyways, I WAS WAITING FOR THIS

BaoziBang

I went to sleep a few hours ago because I didn't want to anxiously wait for the episode and literally woke up a few minutes ago 🤣

aicrylic (aimee)

i mean, it was different watching this episode and trying to understand the format of round 3 because, there were no subs and trying to piece together a summary of the 3rd round based on translations from various accounts on twitter was just awful. it was unnecessarily confusing but once we got it all translated it made a lot more sense

Anonymous

ye, I have got no problems with fan voting & views counting into results, but I think it should be worth less than it is now.

Julia

pausing to explain your confusion lol. basically theyre split into 2 teams (3 groups vs 3 groups) for the first round but it split into 3 parts cause of vocal, rap, and dance units. what they mean by you can win all 15,000 points is if they win the round over all; or let's say that team one won for rap and vocal round so that'll just be 10,000 for each group, and team 2 wins rap round (5,000 for each group) that can also be a possibility.

Once kingdom is over i think it would be awesome if you could watch/react to iKON TV when you have the time! I feel like not a whole lot of people know a lot about ikon which is super sad because they are so funny, sweet, and so talented. I think iKON TV is a good way to get to know all the members. It was filmed in 2018, but it is still super fun to watch. It has 11 episodes and each episode is split into parts(like blackpink house) so it would be more fun for you to watch the full episode all together! but i also get ur super busy and film a lot of other things so i understand if u don’t get to it:)

Chrispy

Minhyuk is known for his athleticism, before BTOB was really popular the thing most people knew about them was that they had one member, Minhyuk, who kept winning gold at the ISAC

Sham Sham

it really is sad, and this is coming from someone whos only been into kpop for 2 years now (I got into kpop 2019) ikon tv is a show i always recommend when reactors want a new group show.

Mesha ✌︎

47:34 you can see in the back how sangyeon was genuinely worried about kevin and there's hyunjae just laughing his ass off lol

BaoziBang

Minhyuk being so incredible it makes it extra unfair how talented and hot he is on top of that: https://youtu.be/JG4C7ZC9KAE https://youtu.be/GNuczqsxG7E https://youtu.be/6ynUsB847uI https://youtu.be/J_qEDTgylR0

Sakura

For me, main vocals are in charge of high notes (often they have the best vocal range and technique) and the lead vocalist is supposed to "lead" the song since they have longer parts. Seventeen main vocalists are SeungKwan and DK and the rest of the vocal team would be lead vocals. I guess lead vocalist cannot shine as much as the main because the rest of the members also sing (except rappers). Also Seventeen usually distributes their parts fairly equally. This can be easily seen in ATEEZ: Jongho is main vocal (always high notes and main vocal points) but San and Seonghwa are lead vocals and usually get greater amount of time singing than the rest. Is confusing when lines are distributed fairly (good thing) and now a days more idols are allrounders so even the ones in dancing positions can sing pretty well. Also sometimes the most popular members are given more lines even when their position isn't vocal. So the lines are pretty blurred. Examples may help: EXO Chen main and D.O lead vocalist. In NCT 127 Taeil and Doyoung are main and Haechan, Jaehyun and Jungwoo are lead ( SM does dirty to the last two).

I honestly think that those who haven't enjoyed Kingdom, it's because of MNET and fanwars. Yes, like you mentioned, the scandals and such I felt like they unnecessarily made the show too competitive(I mean yes, it's a competition but still the formatting and the themes have been so-so). I have enjoyed their stages and performances tho. In all honesty, I feel like if they didn't do RTK, this show wouldnt be so bad cuz there wouldnt be a comparison (maybe just queendom) cuz I feel like MNET is trying to outdo that show especially w how TBZ basically did such cool performances but by doing that they've kind of sabotaged themselves. Idk, personally, I'm just watching for the groups (especially ATZ since they're my ults) and not minding the fanwars and such.

Sakura

ATEEZ said San and Seonghwa didn't try the vault jump. So I guess some members of different groups didn't participate but are shown as FAILED. if I'm not mistaken, Bang Chan's father owns a swimming club and Bang Chan won like 30 medals. He's also known for his physique. About the interaction problem you mentioned, I think it is because of covid. I remember the girls gathered in one room after the voting and they were seated in circle so they would interact a lot. But know the boys are seated in a row so they cannot sea each other faces and also the questions ask to them are usually pretty direct and usually about rankings, so they cannot talk to echa other. So sad since these groups have good chemistry and a lot of them know each other since before kingdom.

Anonymous

I started watching this show for Stray Kid and Ateez and have somehow ended up whipped for Btob and owned by Minhyuk lol. I started enjoying the series with episode when they started to interact more but this was by far my fav episode so far. I think the series as a whole would have been more fun and enjoyable if they had been interacting from the get go. Love the performances but love the interactions more

M.C.

Youngbin does look like an actor, his name is Chani

Sophie

Just to clarify the votes shown at the end wasn't the actual ranking. Just the ranking from views and global votes and also the results from last episode. The actual ranking from introduction round , round 1 and 2 has first been revealed in the next episode. Yeah, I agree that the interactions between the groups are the best. May be because it seems like the groups themselves seem to enjoy the interactions as well (at least from what is shown). I would like to say though that I personally feel that a lot of people are forgetting how ridiculous queendom was too at times. And there was a lot of negativity in the beginning as well. Like I remember really enjoying queendom around the unit round, which is similar to this episode (aka round 3). I have really enjoyed the performances so far, but understand that not everyone thinks the same. I do think the pacing and the editing may have thrown a few off at times.

Izak

The next episode is my favourite so far tbh, then this one

Céline Verhaeghe

this episode is so much fun watching. I laughed so much with. I had to laugh so hard with the changmin part, since I had no idea that was Q real name. I appreciate the boyz and I enjoy their performances, yet they don't captivate me at all. I mainly watch for Ateez and stray kids but i also love btob, sf9 and ikon. Also note San cardigan in the second game. You can clearly see how high it was and after the game it pretty much became a dress lenght thanks to Bang chan :p. Also we atinys know how much san wears this cardigan, so a lot of pictures of this happening went around in the community. Not related to KIngdom, but it is Ateez related ; We won't have to wait for too long anymore on Mingi :D. He was seen going to Jeju to perform together with the other members, which makes Atiny's super happy and proud. He was smiling (yes, even with mask you could tell he was smiling thanks to his eyes) I just wanted to share this news

elvenmagick

Both Exo Chen and DO are Main Vocalists along with Baekhyun, Exo's Lead Vocalists are Suho and Xiumin (Chanyeol might also be thrown into a lead role if it is a pure vocal only song with no rapping in it, like in the songs "Wait" and "Sing For You"

elvenmagick

I know San was basically out of anything with heavy impacts due to getting injured in the stage previous. I wish he had been able to do the vault because he has an amazing vertical jump. He also usually one of the ones they go to for running, but I'm sure full out sprinting would have been to much as well. At least he got to participate in the balloon game.

Mesha ✌︎

only 2 episodes left? isnt kingdom a 10 eps show??

ice4fresh

Ok I don't know if it's just me but I've completely fallen for Minhyuk. This man, holy shit.

ink

Thank god you skipped the teaser because there is an amazing song waiting for you next week

Betânia Camille Backes

When I heard PD complaining about wanting more interactions between groups, I knew he would love this episode (and the next one too, I'm pretty sure). At this point, I honestly love all of these groups so much, even though I knew nothing about some of them at the beginning. Btw, I think no way Kingdom is gonna be only 8 episodes. There are two parts of the 3rd round, and they didn't fit only in episode 7. Besides that, there is also the finale.

Malaki.H

I've fallen long back and I didnt think I could fall more but I did

Mesha ✌︎

pd you’ll love the next episode bc there’s also more groups interactions

Sakura

The groups who ranked first on expert and self-evaluation ranked last in fan voting. I can understand one of them, but both? Obviously they were avoided. Thanks Mnet for your brilliant strategy of revealing half of the ranking first as if it wouldn’t affect the other half. BRILLIANT. Thank you to every single person who appreciates the effort all these groups put in every performance and votes fairly with their heart. I just hope this episode serves as an example of healthy competition and brotherhood between the fandoms as well.

Maria

I definitely agree on the interactions between the groups being the most enjoyable aspect of the show. As to why it seems way more cutthroat and less enjoyable, it's 100% down to the fact that the fanvoting is 40% and so it's essentially a popularity contest, one which has been causing intense fanwars on twitter. It's literally gotten to the point where groups of fans have created strategies in voting based on how well the other teams do/personal vendettas against other fandoms. I've even seen some people purposefully sabotaging the other groups by doing things to get youtube to delete views on their videos...it's honestly so toxic. This week we had the joint performances and because it was all evaluated based on the special guest judges, it was just so much more fun to watch?

Malaki.H

i think if eunkwang hadnt fallen minhyuk could have won

Malaki.H

If the show is 10 episodes then this ep is the halfway point so ig its perfect timing to do something refreshing and like break off from the performance aspect

Tyisha

No but for real PD 😂😂 I didn’t understand why you were so confused. I was confused until I saw the 3 units then I got it. Also I am getting pissed that Ateez got last in the fan voting. Like that doesn’t even make sense if their view count fo there videos are high. I just know that they’re trying to bring Ateez down for being at the top. I wish they would appreciate Ateez and their hard work

Ruth

I initially thought that the rankings in the end were cumulative of all the previous categories mentioned, but then realized that it's just that particular category. Since there is a weightage involved with each of them, we can't say for sure who's first and who's last yet

Marcela Pereira

For me it was the lack of interaction between groups, granted that was cause of covid but this one feels a lot more competitive than queendom for some reason. Also the fact that some groups are missing members add a little to it, in my opinion. Btw, I NEVER get the rules, I just watch the performances and then see how the hell the rounds worked lol. And, I've definitely gain a new bias with Minhyuk, welcome to the neverending list 🙆🏻‍♀️

Marcela Pereira

I still don't get the rankings. I'm just there like 'wow, that did something' 🤷🏻‍♀️

non

I was so confused as well until they split into teams and then understood it! I also then got very excited at the concept of the units! I would be in heaven hearing Jongho and Eunkwang sing together

Mira S

Idk im not enjoying the show because I feel like we all know who's gna win in the end bcz of the 40% fan voting involvement. Ultimately it all goes down to who has the strongest fanbase and there is no suspense or sense of competition. I personally think the groups in road to kingdom had better synergy and chemistry too, they were way more fun to watch

LoLo

Bang Chan is actually super crazy athletic. He did a lot of sports growing up, his dad is a swimmer and a personal trainer too (I think?) - he's at least really into personal fitness and gives Chan pointers/workout tips.

Caitlin

idk how it was for the other groups but i remember seonghwa said in a message on universe that him and san didn’t actually do the vault at all and they just marked them as saying they failed i think part of the reason im not enjoying this show too much is cause of the impact fan votes has on everything like it completely changes the ranking and the system isnt the best

SanjA1800

Compared to RTK and Queendom, Kingdom is way more cutthroat. Everyone is so focused on the competition it's hard to just sit back and just enjoy the performances. At least for me Queendom and RTK (and in a way Good Girl too) were more enjoyable because I was just getting to know the groups/individuals through the show. For Queendom I only knew Mamamoo and G idle and for RTK I only knew Pentagon. Going into those show I really didn't know what to expect so I could just sit back and enjoy the show (didn't really care about the competition aspect of it - just let the best team win or do rock paper scissors or whatever lol) unlike Kingdom where I'm too emotionally invested. Except for the eliminations in RTK, the show was overall super chill and fun compared to Kingdom. I mean this show is literally called 'legendary war'. For the most part, the competition aspect is front and center. Plus I feel like the show has gotten really complicated. The previous round fan votes tally being announced halfway through the next round's performance and whatnot. I really enjoyed this episode though. The sports "competition" wasn't much of a competition everyone was just having fun. Anyway, PD I have a feeling you will really like the next episode. Still a 'legendary war" but sooooo many interactions!

Sandy Cai

Chan has won so many medals as a swimmer in Australia and he is amazing in different sports in ISAC

Kei G

Let me explain the concept of Minhyuk's jumps! So he feels like he is jumping "early" mainly I think because he spends the longest in the air. This is because he swings his legs back, like you saw, and will swing his legs forward with his hands on the vault, giving him the momentum he needs to clear the vault. The other boys, notably Bang Chan, typically use the vertical jump style, where they kinda stomp down against the spring board and jump up, which is why they don't always get their legs back in front of them in time or why they kinda bump on the top, as they don't have that forward momentum as much.

fullsunshine

I'm not sure if you've already gotten comments like this, but NCT World 2.0 did a couple episodes almost exactly like this and jungwoo won the jump, with a height of 2.3 m just like minhyuk and bang chan. Idol sports things are just fun to watch even though i'm not athletic at all haha

SugandSunshine

The view count doesn't make up a lot for the 'fan vote', the votes through whosfan makes up a large chunk of the overall vote and unfortunately not a lot of atiny's have whosfan accounts.

rockthekazb0t

Man, I know it's super old now but I would love it if you watched the sport special(called Let's Go! Dream Team Season 2, in December 2014 I believe) Minhyuk was on where he made that record breaking 2.75m vault jump! (That one is specifically called a horse vault or pommel vault, I believe) Or the ISAC (January 2014,so earlier the same year) where he was crowned the MVP!

kisa1909

Yeah Minhyuk's vaulting on Dream Team was CRAZY when it aired. All the entertainers who participated actually received professional training so that's why he looks completely different compared to everyone else jumping. He's got the skill to back up the talent since he learned it properly over the course of time and not just in a few minutes. It was one of the funnest episodes to watch too. I love this b/c my YT recs have been bringing up his episode like, every single time I go to my homepage lol.

Sandy Cai

I think its a lot of little things sums up how Kingdom is different with the earlier ones, like you said and everybody said we love the group interactions so much, and due to covid plus mnet not allowing the groups to interact in the first and second round, it lacks the fun of it and makes it feel super intense and competitive due to the lack of interaction. Peniel said in one of their podcast on DIVE that he is friends with Chan (SKZ) and wanted to go say hi and talk but the staffs won't allow it. Speculations says that mnet is afraid that the groups will talk about what they are gonna perform so the genuine reactions would not be able to shot for the show episodes. Like the first episode I love so much because there was interaction and then as the episodes go, it got so intense or look like it does. And now with the sports fest ep and the upcoming episodes we are finally gonna get more interactions plus the collaboration which is gonna be fun and exciting for everyone.

Amanda Araujo

this was the best episode ever, for me too the best parts of these shows are when the groups interact with each other its a shame that mnet did that just by the end but im glad we at least had it because it was so much fun and i just always find it so cute to see the friendships between idols

Anonymous

I really don’t know how they look so good after exercising... anyways I think there are 10 ep in total and next ep is really fun to watch too lots of interactions

Briana

All the rules/rounds/voting confuse me so I am just watching to vibe with the performances. It’s really a no thoughts, head empty type of show for me.

Brooklyn

This episode is exactly what I wanted from Kingdom in the first place, which were the interactions and friendships. It also was nice to have a break from voting and streaming, because being so deep into the voting and streaming periods is so stressful just bc the environment between fandoms is just so incredibly and unnecessarily toxic. And the fact that this was the first time the groups were allowed to really interact with each other is sad to me. Peniel said in his podcast that Mnet isn’t letting the teams speak to each other. Like I guess I understand why for strategic reasons I guess? But it seems so strict and serious for no reason other than to stoke fanwars and bolster this reputation Mnet wants to have of themselves and Kingdom as things to be taken seriously. Idk if that makes sense, but I’m just glad that we got to have at least one lighter moment during the show.

Tracey Luu

yesss! I agree~ would love if it PD watches that episode! it's soo thrilling to watch him jump!

Dia

I'm not exactly sure why I'm enjoying it less. Part of it might be because going into RTK and Queendom, I actually already knew who won, so I was just watching for the performances and there was no pressure to vote. I also feel there was more creativity in those previous shows. In Queendom, they had really great song remixes, plus a crowd to hype them up. In RTK, they had really unique stage arrangements/performances. Kingdom is lacking in these areas for me. And as you said, this episode was the most fun so far.

希文 王

I'm enjoying them interacting with each other, but the fan voting is breaking my enjoyment of the whole show, because like a lot of people pointed out it's becoming a popularity vote, I think it was better in Queendom (can't remember RTK) when each fandom had limited votes. Also Kingdom feels much more cutthroat for sure, partly I think (to no fault of Max) because MNET probably asked him to MC in a certain way so it's not as funny and interactive, he's more like an announcer than anything else (doesn't play around with the contestants as much)

Anastasija

Personally I think Kingdom has dragged because we only get like 3 performances if we're lucky per episode and SO much filler and back story prior to the performance. From memory RTK was able to fit in about 4 performances per episode and in my opinion had a perfect balance of backstory/stage prep and performance. I also feel like structurally RTK made more sense and the point system was far less convoluted. You're totally right though Kingdom does have a far more serious tone (excluding ep 6) compared to its predecessors which some people may like but personally i'm just here for good vibes and good performances lol.

Anonymous

PD WAIT. You'll understand the rules once you watch the whole introduction. But I do understand why it may sound confusing.

Réka O.

This was so much fun! Kingdom should have been an athletic competition show instead of a performance competition. we would all enjoy it much more :D I watched this with you for the first time, but I didn't think the rules were too complicated. You just have to keep watching and go with the flow and it will eventually make sense.

Emi R.

So I must just be a super math nerd because I enjoy the point system. They’re actually being WAY more transparent then previous seasons. Like I’ve been able to calculate exactly how many individual votes each group got from experts/self/fan etc. because they’ve given enough data. In previous seasons it was just “well here’s the score, trust us it’s correct, but we’re not gonna reveal the voting pool!” The ranking is hard to look at because it sucks when your favorite is last, but the mathematical weight of each vote/view is appropriate to me. Self voting is the most points per vote(~277 points) then expert(~50 points) then fan votes(~0.00142 points) then views(even less). Also the fan votes and views are statistically less significant meaning there’s not a huge difference between the groups so the expert and self voting IS more weighty/important. But I do feel the editing tone of the show is more cutthroat so it’s just not as fun to watch because you feel the tension drag on FOREVER! Bless this episode for giving us a break from that. *excited Kevin twerking*

Jasmin Ridgeway

I personally think the segments before each groups performances are too long. They’re basically filler and we only really get three performances a week, whereas RTK had minimum like 5 a week. The rounds feel too drawn out and at this point it doesn’t feel as fun to watch.

excellen

In RTK each fandom also had limited votes just like Queendom. Each fandom had 20 people recruited from their fancafes to watch online and vote for their top 3 performances. This was one of the reasons people deduced/spoiled weeks earlier that Golden Child was the first group eliminated since people saw that the other fancafes received their invitations for the next round but golcha's didn't.

Legacy

The first 20 minutes of this video had me thinking... ok PD is the kid in school who wouldn't wait till the teacher finished telling everyone how to do something but would ask 70 question after every full stop lol. I think Kingdom feels different and more drawn out because of the hosts ngl. Jang Sung-kyu and Lee Da-Hee were amazing at hosting I was on the edge of my seat every week. I also think there's too much "Global vote" influence.

Anonymous

Saaaame, regarding the explanation for round 3. I kept blanking out and having to rewind the explanation. haha I am enjoying Kingdom a lot, but I hear you regarding some parts of it feeling slower than RTK. I agree with the comment above that mentions the show really sticking to 3 performances a week and having to fill the rest of the time. I love the background on the making of each song and performance, but the voting in this season drives me up a wall. I think the expert panel scoring skews the good performances to be of only one style. Some of my favorite stages that were not crazy acrobatic so far have not scored well with the professionals. :/

Milo K

I think what mostly annoys me is the voting system because the van voting is only based on fandom size and does not reflect any objectivity.

Kpop_Platypus

Minhyuk is my BtoB bias & this episode made me so proud. 😁  It was fun to see them all outside & enjoying themselves together.  It amused me that PD couldn't tell who was twerking in the preview.  I'm a pretty casual Deobi, but if you even watch a few Kpop tweets/memes compilation videos you'll know that it could ONLY be Kevin. 😂 I've had the thought that I wish they'd cut the behind the scenes prep stuff for each group way down & show all the performances for a round in one episode.  I'd have them do all the stuff, like Ateez's laser tag or TBZ's rooftop party, & tease them during the show and then put it in YT videos for people to watch as bonus content.  Also, PD, the show definitely doesn't only have 2 more episodes.  They only did 4/6 collab performances in ep 7, so the other 2 plus 6 more individual group performances for round 3 equals 9 episodes, then the finale for ep 10.

Anonymous

Youngbin reminds me of Suyeon from Weki Meki, especially their eyes,

Anonymous

Now I'm hoping for PD to record his reaction watching the dream team vault jump^competition where minhyuk won !

Sam

I’m positive someone has said it since I’m so late to the party, but Minhyuk’s vaulting is different because he was trained by professionals and the rest are just doing the best they can lol. ISAC aside, he was selected along with some other idols for Dream Team 2 in 2014 where two teams of idols were coached in vaulting and then competed. The full thing is on YouTube, it’s potato quality but worth watching. And Ricky Kim is a competitor too lolol

onyx.

now you kinda HAVE to react to ISAC 2014 vault jumping competition, its too good

Alena

Youngbin reminded me of iKon's Chanwoo, but more so I've also realised of Oneus' Ravn.

grey whalden

super super late but i got into trying to look up the vault record pd was searching for and the only thing i could sort of find about it was that it i think also goes by the name of "monster box"? and was a trial/challenge on a japanese sports variety show called SASUKE (pretty sure it's the original ninja warrior). i couldn't find any videos of it, but according to one fanwiki article, the world record is held by Oyama Hirokazu for jumping 3m 16cm (or about 24 boxes/levels)! after seeing how high that minhyuk clip of 2m 75cm/18 boxes, that's pretty fucking insane!

A36

this video doesn’t exist? is there anyway to watch it or is it just gone ):

Anonymous

Can you please re-upload the video? I would love to watch it..
