this video is gone as well

If there would be another album review in the future, I think it would be good to let the song that you're discussing play and maybe comment on the parts you like while the song is playing?

I wanted to say, the beginning of Take Me Home kind of reminded me of the slowed down version of the intro for Got7’s If You Do. Tell me I’m not the only one who heard that

Cat Freine

celebrate was actually a song for atiny’s second anniversary, so that’s probably why it’s so personal.

Catrin

I definitely agree that Take Me Home should have been the title track. I like Fireworks, but it's probably not going to be one of their songs that I return to that often. To me, Take Me Home has a lot more staying power.

i knew Leaders wouldn't be your thing lol idk why it was recommended so much? i didn't understand until now why i didn't really like Time of Love and the whole plastic vs real drums makes a lot of sense! Time of Live felt a little flat overall so i also agree with you saying a big chorus ending would've helped. Take Me Home is a masterpiece and i'm so happy it exceeded your expectations! thank you so much for posting this review even though the listening party didn't work out!

Malaki.H

Oneus for next week boy group listening party plss

Malaki.H

celebrates intro kinda reminds me of a more upbeat version of svt without you intro, also like you said thanks its more close to that idk why it made me think of without you as well

Malaki.H

so we will be doing 1 listening party a week? im perfectly ok with that i just remember that you mentioned in the schedule its one gg and one bg

I actually didn't like Take Me Home that much untill I heard the english version, but it was still my least favorite then. I like it a lot more now, but I still prefer the english version, for some reason I think it's more emotional? even though some of the lyrics aren't great. I really liked the leaders and time of Love on first listen, the heat stomping version too. They released celebrate in November as a gift for the fandom, but it was a one day thing, so it's nice that we get it again here. I like I'm the One as a title track, it's probably my second favorite after say my name? I think they might put out a bside mv for Take Me Home because they always put out a second mv, I have a feeling that it'll be the english one but I think they should put out the original version. I wasn't completely satisfied on first listen, but it really grew on me the more I listen. Now that I think about it, I think Ateez have strong songs, but not necessarily strong albums

I could be wrong this is just a theory but I think maybe the reason why hongjoong and mingi's raps were left in korean for take me home may be because these songs were recorded before mingi's hiatus, so if they planned the english version after he was already on hiatus, they may have left it korean but also hongjoong's so they match and its not like one rap translated and one not because that could make it seem like less work went into the song and they just quickly put together an english version after mingi went on hiatus. does that make any sense lmfao

I just love when artist make ALBUMS, you have to listen to them in order because it is a journey and each song means something. Beyoncé said artists don't make albums anymore, the just release single after single to pursue commercial success and the rest of the album is forgettable. I think that has to do with the digital era and the streams, but years ago we just played the whole CD. Kpop albums are really good or really bad. I have to say SM is a company that really cares about the b-tracks and their albums are non-skip.

Also someone said on twitter that it's called heat topping version because it was arranged by peperoni and oliv.... They were the actual people who arranged it I googled it so that's true but if the pun is too... bye

Sakura

Talking about synthwave, I'll always remember your reaction to EXO's Gravity. It would be amazing if you made a k-pop synthwave recommendations playlist or the genre in general.

Sham Sham

Hey Pd quick question have u already listened to Bobby lucky man album I would love to hear ur review on that project

Lore

I kinda get what you mean about Time of Love but something about that plastic drum thing you were talking about gave me this weird nostalgic feeling that I still can't place and now whenever I listen to it I just feel good. The heat-topping remix I definitely did not like when I first listened to it but after the third listen it kind of grew on me and it just makes me feel like a badass when I listen to it in the car?? I think I associated it with something that makes me feel that way about it lol. The Leaders I'm still hit or miss on tbh, sometimes I like it and other times I kinda just zone out when it plays. Take Me Home is perfect, the beginning and certain parts of it weirdly reminded me of The Weeknd. The English version is meh but I assume they were trying to make the same connection as One Day at a Time. Now, I'm not a religious person by any means, but Celebrate just hits different, I think I just like the sound of a gospel choir and church organs lol

Céline Verhaeghe

I think people wanted you to check the leaders out in my opinion it's like a follow up song to 'To the beat' it does give me the same feeling of it.

Céline Verhaeghe

And your right about Celebrate. It is a song written for Atiny if I remeber correctly. Just like Aurora and star 1117. They do like to give songs to their fans

Céline Verhaeghe

And as an Atiny I do agree with you at the end. I find I am not hyped to listening to album over and over again as I did with the others. I do think the songs are great, but it just doesn't speak to me much at the moment.

The beginning of Take Me Home reminded me of The Weeknd’s In Your Eyes a little bit

Julie

I wasn’t a fan of The leaders until the finale of kingdom actually… the leaders as intro for the real was perfect. Take me home is a feel good song, in the same line as Still here (that was on the Japanese album)

Julie

Celebrate was written for atiny on the annual anniversary: it is quite literally a fan song :)

Donslaught

So the songs that PD didn't care for are the ones that were arranged by additional people than EDEN-ary. Coincidence...?

WiseSmellyLegs

With Take Me Home English Version the problem isn't that it is not their mother language/don't speak fluently. I mean, I see your point but there are many "Western idols", who have broken Korean and it somehow works (I know, many of them might be rappers and have English written lines, but in this case we would have to compare and talk about each individual...). The thing is, what is the point of making an English version if you want to appeal on the West? Let's make on version, which is in English and don't place it into brackets... As you said, BLACKPINK has songs like this in their album, or Dynamite and Butter is also a good example. Personally I like language versions, usually Japanese one, but it's not a rule. The reason why I like them is the fact that once the song gets overplayed, I can start to listen and enjoy the same song again, but somehow it feels fresh and new, because of the different words. And in this case there has to be a gap of time between the releases. Because when they are released together, people will focus only on the one they like and the other one is easily forgotten.
