New proposed Patreon Schedule (Patreon)

The devil works fast but I work faster. Earlier today I reached out to everyone on how we can improve the Patreon and provide more content to everyone. So taking into different suggestions, here’s what I’ve come up with. Above is an example of my proposed change to the weekly upload schedule. I’m cutting back on some videos and yet providing more content overall that I think will tickle y’alls fancies.

First and foremost, I will publish a MONTHLY schedule on the 1st of each month. Now I know things like taking breaks or internet issues or getting sick are all unforseen issues that may arise from time to time but in order to combat that I will pre-film a month’s worth of content the month before. So everything posted in the monthly schedule will theoretically all be filmed and 90% guarantee release (the only non-guarantee will be that SOMETIMES Patreon just does not publish scheduled videos. I’m not aware of this unless y’all say something and in that instance I just need to push it live manually so only a day or two delay might happen but you will still always get the promised videos that month).

Now here’s a breakdown of everything on the proposed weekly scheduled. Please note that everything in BLUE is available for ALL tiers and everything in RED is ONLY for Summer tier Patrons and up!

MONDAYS

WEEKLY LIVESTREAM

• The community tab is a mess. We know. It also doesn’t help that hundreds of people will request the SAME videos thus clogging up our inbox. And it’s hard to get to everything!
• Once a week, we will do a livestream where we take everyone’s requests LIVE. These will be requests for things like live stages, dance practices, studio choom, ANYTHING short form and under 20min that does not fall under “variety” content.
• Livestreams will be conducted at 10AM PST/4PM PST alternating bi-weekly. What does this mean? That means one week it’ll be at 10AM PST and the next week it’ll be at 4PM PST and alternate back and forth like this. Why these times? Why are we alternating? Well 10AM PST is a good time for early risers in the U.S. and also a time that accomodates European viewers. For reference, 10AM PST is 6PM in London. But to also accomodate our Asia/Australia viewers, I’ll stream at 4PM PST the next week. For reference 4PM PST is 9AM in Seoul and 10AM in Australia.
• If you can’t make it to a livestream? No problem! The VOD (video-on-demand, aka a recording of the livestream) will be available same day for anyone who misses the live. The videos we check out will all be TIME STAMPED so you can hop around and skip things you’re not interested in.
• If you want to make a suggestion/request but you can’t make it to the livestream you can also leave your requests in the COMMENT SECTION of the livestream VOD and we will refer to that list in the next stream as well!
• This means that short form one off videos will no longer be published individually and just all be in one massive video you can jump between. That doesn’t mean I won’t ever do one off short video reactions? If I’m ever in the mood I might post random ones here or there that I filmed on my own.
• The livestreaming platform has yet to be determined. I think I need to experiment with Discord and Vimeo. Discord has a 50 person limit which sucks but Vimeo seems unstable? (Based on this week’s livestream experience but we’ll see if it was a one time issue or if it was my computer by streaming from a different computer.
• I will be dedicating my entire Monday to these livestreams, do no other work, and we’ll watch A LOT, so these streams will last anywhere between a minimum of 2 ~ 4 hours.

TUESDAYS

VARIETY (Boy Groups)

• Currently we’ve been scheduling our variety content as 2 bg/gg videos every other day. As part of our cutbacks we will have to cut a day from each week. So boy group variety days will be only on Tuesdays and girl group variety days will be on Thursdays.
• In exchange, instead of 6 variety videos a week per genders it’ll be 3 on just one day instead of 2 every other day.
• This will mean not every series will be every week. For example: one week it’ll be GOING SEVENTEEN, TREASURE MAP, THE BOYZ SUMMER RPG and then the next week it might be NCT It’s Awkward But It’s Okay, P1HARMONY VARIETY, STRAY KIDS VARIETY and alternate back and forth.
• BUT if we do this, it’ll take forever to finish a series so here’s a new pitch! Going Seventeen is usually split up into two parts but instead of watching it in parts we will watch ALL the parts in one sitting. So if Going Seventeen Ep. 18 and 19 is Debate Night Parts 1 & 2, the ONE Going Seventeen episode you get that week will be BOTH parts. That means it’ll be an hour long reaction not 30 minutes. Same with something like BLACKPINK HOUSE. It’s usually 5 parts per episode but we’ll watch all five parts in one sitting. If an episode is NOT divided into parts (Treasure Map or IZONE Eating Trip for example) we will either watch one episode or sometimes two. It will totally depend on my workload but you will know in ADVANCE because the monthly will go out on the FIRST/31st so you can choose to renew your subscription.

THROWBACK TUESDAYS (Boy Groups)

• After doing a few episodes of Throwback Thursday I realize there is TOO many things to watch and only ONE video a week is not enough! So we’re also doing Throwback Tuesdays! (totally not confusing at all lol) Tuesdays will be throwback videos of boy group/male soloists and Thursdays will be girl groups/female soloists!

WEDNESDAYS

LISTENING PARTIES

• Sigh. You guys keep asking for this and so I shall relent! Listening Parties are BACK and they will be a Patreon-ONLY exclusive!
• Why bring it back? Well, aside from Kulture Study videos, these are the MOST requested videos. They were difficult to do because they’re long and tiring, and what with ALL the content I filmed for Patreon there was little time or energy to do these. But with a few of the cutbacks to the variety, I can fit time to do these more!
• One a week sounds a little too slow. So how about two a week, on Wednesdays (POSSIBLY film them live; don’t quote me on that it depends how well livestreaming goes on Mondays) and to keep it fair, one boy group and one girl group album a week!
• This will be available for ALL Patron tiers, so for the Spring ($2) Patrons who feel like they’re not getting their money’s worth since I got rid of early access; this one’s for you! And this one isn’t early access, it’s exclusive!
• Why not put it on YouTube? Because YouTube is block crazy. And listening parties range from being 20min to 1 hour. And because if I want to publish it for YouTube I have to record it WITHOUT the music, which means for Patreon I have to edit in the music. Not only is the editing really time consuming, I then have to EXPORT it. Listening parties are long and therefore take a long time to export and even longer to upload. It’s just too much time consuming work to get the best of both worlds so I’m choosing you guys!

THURSDAYS

VARIETY (Girl Groups)

• Same as boy groups. Refer to the Tuesday section above.

THROWBACK THURSDAYS (Girl Groups)

• Same as boy groups. Refer to the Tuesday section above.

FRIDAYS

Drama Club / Reality Shows

• If we are pursuing only one show, two episodes every Friday. If we are watching two shows only one episode of each show. So no changes here.

Community Cast

• I know we’ve been largely inconsistent with the Community Cast but it hast mostly served as a random podcast to share my personal feelings rather than an actual show. That’s gonna change if we do this show!
• The Community Cast would shift more to something similar to the Kulture Study podcast where we cover relevant topics, take your questions about explanations but also blended with reacting to the news and what’s going on. For example, stuff like the bullying scandal is a hot button issue I don’t want to tackle on my channel but Patreon? Sure!
• Also doing podcasts alone are boring so I’m also hiring a co-host and to help keep it consistent!
• This show, along with the livestreams and throwback thursdays will NOT be pre-recorded.

I know this seems like a lot but it’s actually not and it’s a little less than my usual workload but a more variety of content for you all. So if most of the community likes the sound of this, we can start this NEXT WEEK on Monday and do like a week of testing with this format and get everyone’s feedback.
