NiziU is gonna make their Korean Debut soon. I found out on LeeMujin Service with Miihi(which was amazing she's an amazing singer (since nizi project))

The MV basically underlined the meaning of the lyrics because 8 of the girls were looking for the last member who joined them at the end (Miihi). AFAIK she's still on hiatus because of her health. But yeah the rapping was actually quite good. Already saw some potential with Make you Happy but they partly changed the rappers. It will be interesting to see how well they do in Japan and if they maybe even promote in Korea sooner or later

The MV is an interpretation about their journey to becoming NiziU, for example you see rima in that block room where she's searching for a certain colored block, in the predebut show Jyp talked about how Rima hasn't found her color and then later in the second half of the show, she found her color hence in the MV she puts all the red color blocks together. I would recommend watching the show to not only understand the MV more, but to also get to know the girls and their charms. The show is available on the official JYP youtube channel with english subtitles.

I have noticed a few J pop releases have sounded almost hollow to me. So I agree with you on the sound mixing here on this song as well. I am assuming it must be a style preference as I have noticed it on a few titles, like Stray Kids: All In and also Twice: Better, to varying degrees.

Even though I only stan a few jpop groups, from my experience they don’t tend to be very rap heavy but I can see NiziU utilising their rappers more than the average jpop group as i think they’re tones suit to the market somewhat. The funny thing is that there’s a phenomenon where jpop songs sometimes are described as having a “kpop sound” in terms of production etc such as AKB48’s Teacher Teacher, which ties in to what you were saying about the production. All in all I personally think this is like a Jpop version of Feel Special in some ways in terms of message and feeling, but idk if other people are getting that vibe.

Leon Hockenberger

The rap break you're talking of is literally on the tip of my tongue.

Omg yes it isssss. I've literally been mumbling the lyrics I knew for the past 3 hours.

first of all the lyrics are absolutely adorable I love them and MAYUKA (purple rapper), like MAYUKAAAAA this is all a simulation and we're all living in mayuka's world

Theyre doing amazing in japan rn, theyre on a number of huge magazine covers, are working with coca cola, are currently the muse for KOSE (a beauty company), are performing on the biggest japanese shows and music stages, won an award at the Japan MTV VMAs 2020 for best dance (Make You Happy). They're pretty much everywhere, huge fanbase both there and internationally. They're supposed to promote in South Korea too but it makes sense they start off focusing on Japan promotions. They have 2 fluent english members though so their audience has reached pretty far actually. They live in South Korea though so I can imagine we will see them on some show at somepoint. And yes the predebut had 2 others rapping but the 2 you see here, Rima and Mayuka, are the main/best ones from their survival show. Anyway, I'm really into NiziU so sorry for the paragraph haha

I just imagine Japanese salarymen crying in a corner listening to this song. I watched the entirety of the survival and was a big Miihi fan because that girl has a freaking ton of potential but to be honest the songs they put out are really not my thing. I can't listen to Japanese releases in general as they just don't suit my taste. Jpop is incredibly sugary for my ears and it feels overwhelming honestly. I'll keep checking them out 'cuz you never know in life... P.S.: the rap is really good, more incisive than the ones in most Twice song IMHO.

jyp said that niziu is not just aimed for the japanese/korean market but rather a more global music market

Pd I think this is your last Niziu reaction. I hope you consider checking out their latest comeback Chopstick. It was nothing like I've ever heard
