NCT U doesn’t have a fixed member lineup, it’s always different for every song bc the lineup is based on who fits the concept of the song. Also, NCT has 2 new members (Shotaro & Sungchan) but only Shotaro is in this mv

The whole NCT structure is a mess to explain. But essentially NCT U lineups can be any combo of the 23 members across 127, Dream, WayV and two added members this year. 😅 Make a Wish has Taeyong(127), Doyoung(127), Jaehyun(127), Lucas(WayV), Xiaojun(WayV), Jaemin(Dream), and Shotaro who is a brand new member who doesn’t have a separate unit yet! The other title from this album has a completely different mix of members, except Doyoung who was in both. Part 2 will also have double titles with completely different mixes of members.

You should definitely check out the NCT 2020 album (resonance pt.1)! Also, there is another title track and MV for this comeback called From Home. And they released two short track videos for two b side tracks (misfit & deja vu). Lastly, there will be a part 2 to this comeback in November with probably a new combination of members for the comeback:) Love your reaction and thank you for your hard work!

It took me a while to wrap my head around it too but basically, unlike 127, Dream and WayV, NCT U doesn’t have fixed members. It’s their way of being able to put different members together depending on the concept. For example, Baby Don’t Stop and Boss are both NCT U songs but they have very different line ups. So, this new album has all the members of NCT in it and each song is a different line up of members; there’s a 127, Dream and WayV song and the rest are NCT U with different members being put in each song. I hope that helped and that I didn’t just confuse you more. (Also, the kid who you pointed out who you thought was in Dream (not Jaemin) was Shotaro, one of the two new members they added for NCT 2020)

Basically, NCT U is the name the members of all 3 units use for cross-member or select members. Like if 2 members from NCT 127 have a song, then they do it under NCT U.

This is probably my favorite NCT song after 7 Sense. They really did well for this comeback. They’re even won 3 times. Even the album is a total bop. I hope you can react or listen to it. Plus watch the live stage for Make A Wish

I agree with what you said about this being really fun. And honestly, in the mv, you can literally see the members having fun as well. I know people hate the idea of NCT being a rotational system with unlimited members but tbh it's actually genius. Like the mix of members from the three units are so fun and a really new aspect to kpop in general. I'm glad that nct have become a lot more popular and are now considered one of the top bg's because they've brought a lot of things to the scene.

Make a wish is part of the big Nct 2020 project. They released an album called Resonance part 1 featuring all 23 members on different tracks. The album had 2 title tracks, Make a wish and from home, both got music videos and Nct also released track videos for 2 songs from the Album, Misfit which is another Nct U song and Deja vu which was an Nct Dream song. Both videos aren’t of the full song though. As of the release of the album, all 23 members are apart of NCT U so Everytime they promote as Nct u the line up will likely be different. Resonance is supposed to have a part 2 coming out in November with 2 other title tracks

nct u's actually just a combination of any of the members out of the 23 in nct currently... for shotaro (red bucket hat) it's his debut song he was actually a professional dancer and went to a famous dance school in japan so he only trained at sm for 3 months :)

idk if you know but 2 new members were added to nct!! shotaro (the kid in this music video) is japanese and he's a dancer in nct. sungchan is korean and his role is a rapper, he made his nct debut with the song misfit (it was a track video released for the nct 2020 comeback)! i hope you can check out the rest of the songs in the nct 2020 project!

From what I know NCT U is a revolving unit so it changes per comeback who's in it. Also the "Are you telling me Lucas bottoms" comment literally made me choke lmao

The second I watched this MV I started waiting for your reaction haha NCT U has no fixed formation. SM chooses whatever singer they think would suit a particular song better. The kid you saw is Shotaro :) one of the new members of NCT, so this was his debut. Aaand you NEED to check NCT "Misfit", another new song but with a different style where the other new member, sungchan, debutes.

For some reason, I think the lyrics are a lot dirtier than what they seem at first haha (it's your birthday, make a wish, I'll give you birthday cake). Last but not least, I see those fish eye shots as if they are inside the bottle looking up

nct u is the subunit where they just say 'fuck it' and throw a random combo of members from the 3 fixed units into a song that fits them. all 23 members are technically in nct u, its just all nct u songs have different members in them with different amounts of members as well. example, baby don't stop only has 2 (ten and taeyong), boss has 7 (mark, taeyong, lucas, winwin, jungwoo, jaehyun, and doyoung), without you has 3-4 (taeil, doyoung, jaehyun in the Korean version, and they added kun in the chinese version), and make a wish has 7 (from 127 its taeyong, doyoung, and jaehyun, from dream its jaemin, from wayv its xiaojun and lucas. it also has a brand new member of nct, his name is shotaro) it may be difficult to understand initially but it makes sense the more you get to know how nct works as a whole. personally I love the idea of nct u, I think its a cool way to let members who shine in certain types of genres be able to show their skills. like taeil and doyoung with their voices in without you and from home. I think they really shine in those kind of slower songs.

all songs from nct 2020 are really good. its mostly nct u songs, meaning different members from the 3 units participated in different songs, as well as nct127, nct dream, and wayv songs, one for each fixed unit. I hope you decide to check it out.

from home also has a mv, its very beautiful. they're also promoting both make a wish and from home on music shows if you'd like to watch them.

a lot of people before me have explained the nct u concept, but yeah! it's a rotational group so any number and line up of nct members from any of the other units (127, dream, wayv) can feature in songs and promotions under that name. the one member who you thought was in dream (not jaemin, who had the white hair) was shotaro (red hat, puffy navy vest), a new member from japan! this is his debut :D this song is literally dripping sin but i agree it's so so fun! i interpreted the fish eye shots as if they were the genies in the bottle themselves and that really added to the effect i think. i definitely see what you mean about this not really being a more lighthearted birthday song but i think given the lines about "back it up" and "hurry up hit that line" and "i can do this all day" it's not hard to tell it's more about birthday sex instead (*stares at bottom lucas shot*....) if you need further insight, they actually released an official english version of make a wish on the new nct 2020 album "resonance pt 1" (which features all 23 members from all units, similar in concept to nct's 2018 empathy era!) i know what you say about english versions never really hitting as well as the original korean does but i think it's worth a personal listen just for how ridiculous and lewd some of the lyrics are ("I like my donuts with jam in the middle" immediately comes to mind....) it reminds me a bit of the silliness between txt's cat and dog korean vs english versions i hope you're well pd! enjoy your leave and find bright moments where you can! we're always here cheering you on <3

the whole nct 2020 album is really good so i'd definitely recommend giving it a listen! They use the nct u concept a lot more in this album than ever before so you get some really random combinations of members which is fun! A few of the songs have videos (like misfit and deja vu and from home even has an mv) too!

I have been following PD for about a year right now, but I didn't think about subscribing to patron at all before....After this NCT 2020 comeback, I was waiting for PD's make a wish review video. Anyway, thanks to SM, I am here with $2/month. Please take my money, hahahahahaha
