Taking a break next week: new changes? (Patreon)

Hey guys! So as I announced last month, I will be taking a week long break once a month to pursue other activities or to recharge my energy. With that said, I never took that break this month in August lmao.

Any way, I'll be releasing the rest of Hotel Del Luna this weekend to finally finish it off and Kulture Study videos will STILL release on YouTube while I'm on break (as I will film them in advance).

I'm primarily taking this break because I have to travel back to LA this weekend to go throw out furniture in my old apartment so I'm going to be away for 2-3 days so I figure I'll just take my break at the same time.

I have some new announcements I'd like to share with you guys for the month of September and the changes coming with it but also get your feedback on possible changes.

So one of the big changes I might consider making is: no more early access to the Kulture Study. What does that mean?

As you all know this whole "reaction" thing is basically just a game of who releases asap. For the past year or so I've been doing early access on Patreon so I stopped uploading to YouTube right away. Because of that our channel's growth has all but died and other channels (frankly, people I've never heard of and started WAY later than me) are close to or have already surpassed my viewership and numbers.

In an effort to boost our channel's viewership I was thinking of MAYBE getting rid of early access and just upload ASAP onto YouTube. But the question is, if I did that, will you stick around on Patreon? Please vote below!

Mind you, if I do get rid of early access to the Kulture Study, Spring will still get early access to Listening Parties and Japanese releases but also, I'm thinking of perhaps adding MORE. So I might start releasing some short form variety stuff for Spring tier Patrons while Summer Patrons start to get more LONG form variety stuff.

I'm not confirming getting rid of early access, just an idea and I'm curious to see how many people would consider leaving if we changed things. Let me know! If enough people want me to keep Early Access, I will keep it!

I'm still of the opinion that Autumn tier gets Drama Club and long form variety shows(Idol Room, Kingdom, etc) because of the sheer time involvement. But keep the ones you already completed available for Summer tier(maybe as a teaser of sorts?)

Honestly by the time I get to most of the early releases they have already hit the channel so I'm not upset about the change.

I personally don't care what tiers have access to what content; it's your channel, you get to decide & I can adjust my level accordingly if necessary.

Patrons can see the Kulture Study videos either way, so I don’t think it’s a big deal. We want to see you grow and be successful and if posting reactions to YT quicker will do that, we aren’t missing anything by viewing them there instead of here. I don’t support for what I get I return (though the content is fire!), it’s because I like you and want to help support your dreams monetarily.

As a summer tier who joined for the long form variety shows I personally can't afford the Autumn tier. I see where you're coming from but I feel like some may drop patreon if this happens (like myself most likely I would drop to a lower tier)

I'd still support with Patreon. The more people see your videos on YouTube the more people will become Patreons. The more people who become Patreons the more money you have to put towards better equipment and to fund the projects you want to do. This means more and/or better quality videos. In the long run, it's a win win.

I stuck around last year when there was 2 months of no patreon content, I’m in it for the long run. I’m here to support you PD. Once I get myself a more secure job with stable income, I will be moving up to the winter tier. Until then I will remain an autumn patron

Honestly I wasn't a Patron for the early access or any of the bonus content really. I just wanted to help support the channel a bit, you're one of the few people on YouTube that I feel the urge to support and I hope to see the channel flourish. :D

Early access is nice, but I'm at Summer tier for all the other stuff. I was wondering if the delay was hurting you in the reaction race.

I'll say this from my experience and what made me finally become a patron here. A little over one year ago I always checked your patreon to see what kind of content you had here...and it basically was only early access content. And to be honest it didn't seem really appealing to subscribe...I knew that eventually the content would be there in youtube if I waited so I waited. The moment you decided to start reacting to varieties and live stage reactions (content that you normally can't put out on youtube without the risk of getting a strike/block) was the moment I decided to subscribe almost immediately. Summer tier was within an accessible price for me so the early access stuff just became a bonus from the package but for me what attracted me to finally subscribe was the exclusive content that I knew I would never get on youtube if I waited. So even though I'm not affected much if the early access goes away, I think is a much better strategy to use patreon more for exclusive content that people want but can't get on youtube and spread out through the tiers and including a little more for spring tier since they are the most affected to make it worthwhile....so you can put out your reactions faster and not hinder your channel's growth because of patreon.

Im a Patron partly for variety shows and listening parties, but honestly, it's mostly just to support you because I really enjoy your content and I wanna help support any short films you make in the future, but I wouldn't cancel just cuz you changed something, and especially not if it's to help support your channel, cuz it seems dumb to do that

I've never been for the early content stuff, always been a guy who would watch it when he felt like watching it. What I DO would like to see is a list of songs you're NOT reacting to... like what "reacttothek" have. Just a playlist with songs that you won't be releasing. It's more for us, so that we don't keep on asking songs you dislike.

I don't support you through patreon just to get early access to stuff or to see stuff that you do not upload to youtube, though that is a nice benefit, I support you because I want to see you do well and continue to make films. I'm here for listening parties, Japanese releases, and other extra content. But also because I want to support your hard work and you as a person. One of the few reaction channels that don't just watch a video, act all goofy over it, and give 0 input on anything about the video. I know some people want that level of entertainment and that's fine, but I want some actual input and you give that. Also, I pretty much always watch the Kulture Study on YouTube to give you the views there so no early access for ones you would upload to YT anyways wouldn't bother me at all.

Honestly, I would understand if you were to take away early access because it does have a huge impact on your youtube channel since many watch MV reaction videos as soon as the MV is released. I'm here for the supporting of the channel and also the extra content. If taking away early access lets you focus on extra content on Patreon then I'm all for it! Plus I realized after being a Patreon for a while that I wasn't visiting your YT channel as much as usual because you uploaded your early access here. And you do get a lot of support on Patreon so I sure others are experiencing the same thing so that does affect your views and maybe other important analytics. So I do think that taking away early access will help your YT channel grow so much more and potentially bring more support to your Patreon (Sorry I kinda rambled lol).

I don't mind not having Early Access honestly. It's nice to have on Patreon but I'd just as well watch it on Youtube right away, and if that helps your channel grow, you should do it. I'm here for the live stages, varieties and reality shows, so not having Early Access to the Kulture Study isn't a deal breaker at all.

as a spring tier i feel like that's our main benefit, tho there are other videos too of course. i used to be a higher tier but scaled down to spring to save. honestly if there's no benefits added to spring i might just stop being a patron until i can go back up to a higher tier with more benefits, since i'll be able to watch everything right away on youtube.

I'm Autumn tier so I don't feel like I have much to say about it lol. I made this Patreon account for one reason: to support you. And that's what I'm still doing. I really appreciate that you're taking our opinions and advices (even if mine isn't much), your openness is really valuable and I appreciate it a lot. In the end, I want the best for you as a creator and, if removing early access helps you with youtube algorythms and exposition, then I'm behind you.

I'm in full support of this because as you said, a lot of new reaction channels are steadily growing because they post reactions as soon as they can but the quality of their reactions are just unwatchable, reason why you are the only reaction channel alongside reacttothek that i watch. I also want you to have a lot more subscribers because you can help in enlightening a lot of new kpop fans with knowledge they tend to know. If you remove the early access to Kulture Study, i will just consider upgrading my pledge and go back to Summer tier (I recently went to spring because of my bills lol)

To be honest I don't really use patreon a lot I only come here for the Japanese releases (and for your messages) the rest I watch on YouTube once it gets there, I made the decision to subscribe to your patreon since I wanted to help you realise your dream not because I wanted early access. I'm only a spring patreon but it just feels nice knowing I can help if only just a little 💜 thank you for being honest with us 💜 And while other channels might grow I tend to not like them as much as yours, with you I know it genuine and not just something along the lines of 'ow, kpop is the new hot thing let's watch all the big groups', you also give time to smaller groups which is very important to me. I've discovered so many groups through your channel, thank you for that 😉
