There were rumors of her debuting in a group but that never happened for some reason. I too think she would would be having a better start in a group. She's still really young so she could easily join a group

This is complete wild guess with nothing to back it up so far, but I wonder if it's possible that Natty WILL actually debut int a group later - Swing Entertainment was originally founded more-or-less as an agency which sole function is to manage the Produce 101 groups (first WannaOne, then X1, then the now-cancelled/delayed I.O.I reunion, and recently took over Iz*One as well). But with X1 disbanded, Iz*One set to disband by around April next year and no more Produce 101 groups to come since the show isn't likely to get a fifth season, they are looking to establish themselves as a fully-fledged agency outside of being a Produce 101 group manager, and started to sign other some other soloists, which includes Natty. Again, purely a guess, but it's not impossible that they're debuting Natty as a soloist first to capitalize on her existing fame, and then put her in a group that will debut after Iz"One's disbandment coming April - it makes sense in terms of timing; depending on how they're planning Natty's career, just under a year's time can allow for a comeback (or two, if they're being aggressive about keeping her in the public's view), especially for singles-only comebacks that will take less time to prepare than mini albums. This was what basically happened to Elris's Sohee's - she was in K-Pop Star and had a minor blow-up, so she debuted as a soloist before her relevancy died down, and was later put into Elris. You could argue that this would lead to a single member's fame eclipsing the whole group a la Hyuna in 4Minute, and is definitely the case for Elris at least to a certain extent, but in Natty's case, as PD has stated, the chances of her making it successfully as a soloist are pretty low since she isn't Korean, so the risk of this is lowered, but whatever group she may debut with will get a bump in international visibility because of her. Again, no evidence to back any of this up, but it seems like an interesting thing that could happen. :)

Maybe they would try to sign IZ*ONE's japanese members, as they will be contractless. It's a golden opportunity for them.
