The song that got me into Kpop was SNSD’s I Got A Boy. Crazy, “messy” songs like this are my thing

Niki Clement

I liked Kick It way better. For some reason this song frustrates me. I can't even explain why.

punch grew on me the more I listened to it but I actually prefer nonstop more, I think nonstop could've been great as the title track

Yile Chen

I absolutely love this track since first listen. It's so unique and delicate. I love the huge amount of instrumentals stacking behind. I always enjoy this experimental side of NCT so much.

Georgia

I love it so much! I love the direction it took and how it’s different to kick it in some ways. Also as the rest of the album goes, nonstop is spectacular and amazing, but I still feel like punch did well as a title, it was the sort of feel a title track needs, it’s what makes nct, NCT! Such a good comeback!!

Octobre

The song is super weird and I love it.

Stefan

I REALLY like this song, very interesting, I especially love the synth-line during the chorus. Though mass-appeal-wise maybe "Nonstop" from the repackage would have been a better choice for the title track 🤔

anna

It was a running joke that we all collectively forgot what the song sounds like after listening, except for eyyy we ballin, because it was just so weirdly structured!

Shanz

your reaction at 5:27 is exactly me after watching punch for the first time

Shanz

punch is such a weird song, but i like it , It was such a risk , especially with how successful kick it was.

L. O.C.

great reaction, PD!! I'm actually in the minority that thinks this was miles better than kick it, not that kick it wasn't great at all. the song keeps changing in texture and melody. glad 127 is able to take risks especially with their title tracks. easily the best boy group cb this year for me

L3xiGee

I wasn't sure how I felt about Punch at first but after a couple listens it grew on me and it grew on me hard. I loved Kick It right away, but I think I like Punch more now.

i highly recommend listening to the full album and the mini music videos they have for every track!

I definitely love this song. Especially the pre-chorus, and the chorus. I tend to usually love SM’s experimental stuff, and this is no different. I’m very open minded especially when it comes to music so I don’t have an exact set taste when it comes to my music, and I kinda just like whatever appeases my ears lol. This definitely has a really nice nostalgic type feel for me, and I did enjoy it a bit more than kick it. I really appreciate SM trying new things out with NCT, because I really feel like they deserve to be able to experiment and see what fits them best! Thanks for the reaction PD and I’m really glad you liked it!

Thank you for recognizing Haechan!! In addition to back-to-back-to-back comebacks, he had two online concerts in the middle. I'm proud of him, but after these promotions I'd honestly I'd rather not see him for a couple months so he can rest. Personally, this is my 2nd least favorite title track (not that I DISlike it, just like it a lot less than almost all the others) because the song just feels disjointed. I agree with some others here that Nonstop would've been a more appealing title track, though I get why they chose this one because it is very much 127's style & has an anthemic feel. I'm glad you love it, though, PD. 🙂

i loved this song from first listen which is honestly pretty rare for an nct title track (im usually iffy abt their songs at first listen) n this song kept growing on me too,, now i think this song is even better than kick it honestly- i love how experimental sm is with their music n they arent afraid to try out sounds n structures that r completely different from current trends also highly recommend listening to the whole album (especially nonstop) if u havent already!

Talise Snyder

The first time I heard the song I was definitely not a fan but it's growing on me a lot. It takes some getting used to but now that I can recognize the structure of the song I like it a lot more

Tricia

Jungwoo really stood out for me in this one. Usually I come back to NCT songs for the rap line, it just sticks out more on the first listen to me. However for this one I came back for the soft vocal line parts w/ Jungwoo, Johnny, Doyoung, Taeil, and Haechanie, (if I'm being honest Taeyong's harness and Mark's visual at 2:30 brought me back as well). Thanks for the technical explanation, helpful as usual.

SpacedOut Vy

I loved this experimental song!!! I hope you can at least check out their new b-side called NonStop!!! It sounds like another boy group's title track but they had it as a b-side which is like A HUGE FLEX!

I couldn’t watch the mv when it first came out so I just listened to the track. It was a crazy ride man........... When the piano bits come out I was like ????? but I actually liked it a lot hhhh. I think this song is super intriguing. Thank you for your reaction, it was very fun to watch!

L. O.C.

the vocal line definitely was the stand out for me as well, especially the 2nd verse with Doyoung and Jungwoo

Anonymous

Haha that was literally my reaction. What did I just watch??? But I really like the song lmao

I read a music major's analysis on twitter the other day and she said this song is structure to give us a feeling of disorientation because the verses keep getting cut out or never appear again. the shouting at the beginning only happens once, then on teh 1st verse there are three rap parts, then johnny - jungwoo - taeil at the pre chorus, then a full chorus. the music suddenly gets quiet with doyoung - jungwoo then 2 rap parts then the pre chorus get "cut" with only doyoung - taeil. the 2nd chorus is cut in "the middle" then comes the bridge and out of nowhere the beat drops and we can finally feel some kind of relief on the last chorus. i fucking love this song and i really respect the producers here!

this song is on another level.

Goof

another SM song that confused the hell of out me at the time was SNSDs I got a boy, it was like 4 songs in one.

Sian Hoy

When I first watched this (in my own reaction video), I was honestly ‘lost’ in the song- meaning I was very confused about the flow of what you expect from a song. I definitely did have to watch the MV 2 times (1, to get a visual handle on what the heck was going on & 2, to get a understanding of the song). And as PD said, it’s was so much a very weird and very different song that when I first checked it out, I was soooo take aback. But now that I’ve heard the song a few more times an seen the video the same amount, I’ve really got my head wrapped around it and LOVE IT!

Anonymous

i love it as much as you do and damn you just made me realize more things i didnt notice before in this mv!!! i love that more

Anonymous

Hiii!! Could you please react to stray kids’s “TOP”, “Slump”, “Streetlight” and “Close”!! It’s really worth it!!

Anonymous

Hello PD which tier do I have to subscribe for Road to Kingdom's reaction?

WiseSmellyLegs

I feel like it’s a combination of Superhuman and Kick It. I liked Superhuman mainly for the video than the music but I didn’t really get into Kick It, so for me it’s like better version of previous song. Something like Regular and Simon Says, at first I didn’t like the music of Regular and soon after that I appreciated Simon Says then... and later on I started to like Regular also in some way.

Caitlin

I see many people disliking this song but I honestly loved it so much. It's unique

Anonymous

Why i can’t watch the video? When i try to play the video, the screen turns white

mist

loved it on the first listen

Pallavi Bhattacharya

I am kind of on the fence about this. I think I am not a fan of the transitioning from say a rap to singing. Its very jarring. However, I love each individual sections, my favourite is ofcourse the whisper raps, but I also like the vocals. Just the transitions are too jarring.
