Hi PDNim, I appreciated it a lot that you talked not only about his dancing and singing (both superior!) but also about the shooting of the MV and the impact that certain choices have on viewers during the song. The moment that you described at the first cut is so powerful and when I rewatched it with you I realised that it's like my head is snapping as well? Like there's a '!' to the moment that refocuses my attention. I appreciate it when you give us feedback on moments like this because it's not something other reactors normally consider. What were your thoughts on the lighting in it, not only with regards to fog but the way the lights sometimes switched to blue, or why they made the choices they did to sometimes have eight lights shining as opposed to the one main spotlight? For the dancing, I just have to say that at times I got such a heavy puppeting vibe as well, like the other dancer was literally controlling him and he was fighting to get out, or get free. I'm not sure how that might fit into the lyrics as I sadly don't understand Mandarin. -- Regardless, thank you so much for reacting to this, I really enjoyed it, and it's for this kind of commenting and content exactly that I subscribed.

Totally agree about the whole self-producing thing. I don't think there's anything wrong with idols not writing their songs at all, and if they take some part in the lyric writing and producing process that's cool. But some fans twist it out of proportion. I think part of it is people don't understand the difference between producing, composing, and writing lyrics. But some fans will claim an idol has a much larger role in their music than they actually do.

I read an (unofficial) translation of the lyrics and I think it really helped me interpret the video and the choreography. To me it seems to be about the struggles of being an idol and there are scenes in the choreo where the8 is cowering from something, shielding himself, and flapping his arms like a bird that can't fly. The lyrics are about being lonely, feeling trapped, and trying to escape.
