PD I appreciate your honest opinion. I loved this debut but I have to agree...the mv did not match the song. I think they were trying to go for “break out of the mold or box” concept hence all the cubes BUT as you said it was executed well. I liked the song and what the members showed so much more than the video. But yes thank you for your honest opinion. Hope you check out the album

Mary Stillwell

I completely agreed with everything you said. That is perhaps why the song didn’t click for me at first.

A lot of people who didn’t fall in love with the title track are saying the album is much better and that top of the chain, the first song on the album, should’ve been the title track instead. I love break all the rules and I understand that as a concept, it’s fits for cravity’s debut but I have to agree that top of the chain would’ve been much more impactful. I’d love for you to listen to the album and hear your opinion.

I actually really enjoy PD being heavily critical of works, and in this case their opinions actually heavily coincided with mine. But also it was cool that you better broke down what my thoughts were. But Top of the Chain from their debut album is a very strong song and tbh should have been their title track.. I suggest you check it out!!

I agree with what others have said, the rest of the album is much better than the title song. I hope you'll do a listening party, or at least watch a stage for Jumper, to get a taste of what the rest of their music sounds like. I think part of the issue with their production quality is that their debut was very rushed after X1's disbandment (it was what, four months and a handful of days after?) which might have a hand in the quality. I hope their second comeback title is more put together.

Portal_Paw

I liked the majority of the song but the chorus was extremely lacking for me

I think they are very polished for a rookie group and I wish the MV had been more powerful and unique to help them stand out. It blends in with a lot of boy groups MVs and I want to see something different

2021-07-18 05:46:06 My opinion is that Starship thought, "We tried doing something edgy and different with MX's debut, & it took them longer than we wanted to be really successful. So this time we're going to stick to the mainstream standards from the start & hopefully Cravity will do better, sooner." And then that mentality led to them playing it too safe.
