First of all, thank you. Last of all, thank you. (Patreon)

This is a continuation, a reply, a thank you letter of sorts based on this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/bit-embarrassing-34264242
I don't want to just repeat myself so if you're lost, read that previous post first. But I swallowed my pride and asked for help and people came out to help us, and I'm really so moved and touched. Thank you all. I've only ever asked for help if it was something important and necessary to the channel or our work. The fact that y'all would help me out for a vacation, my first one since starting this channel...it means a lot.
As you may have noticed, I've been pushing myself a lot this week. I want content to STILL be coming out even while I'm in Iceland because I don't want any of you to miss out just because I'm gone. It's hard but it's worth it.
But also for transparency I want everyone to know what we're going to be doing with the donations everyone sent. With people's donations, we got somewhere around $1,500 so far (at the time of writing this). This isn't what I originally had saved up for the trip (I saved up $3,000 so that it would be $500 for a rental car, $1,500 for accommodations, $500 for food and gas, $500 emergency cash) so in order to work within our budget we're going to be renting a camper van for about $800 and live out of the camper van for a week.
It's not a bad thing, apparently Iceland is very road trip friendly and their camper vans are nice! But it'll save us the cost of hotels for most of our trip. We'll have roughly $700 left and we'll use $500 for food and gas and supplies (we need blankets and stuff if we're sleeping in the van!). We'll have $200 left and while I'd like to have an emergency reserve of spending cash, I apparently need that $200 to buy winter gear??? My friend scolded me the other day because I was gonna go to Iceland in just a hoodie and sweats in sneakers and they were like YOU DON'T HAVE A WINTER JACKET OR BOOTS???? And I don't. lol. So apparently I have to get all that "winter stuff" which will probably just be boots cus I have big feet so boots are expensive ;(
We still have at least 2-3 nights left in Iceland so we do have to stay in a hotel but I'm hoping my March paycheck will roll in by then and we can just book a hotel last minute with that paycheck for our final few nights. If not, we have the van still! If people still want to donate they can, but I just wanted to update peeps that while it'll still be tight, we at least won't be homeless during the week!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone who donated. It's greatly fricking appreciated. I love you all. And just wait 'till I come back charged and rejuvenated, more stuff to come!
With love,
PD
