I do think you have the start of it. Twice exist in a kind of sad/dark existence. Sana, Jihyo, and Mina had particularly rough years. If you see the lyrics, Mina says "'Whatever' 'This is fine' 'I'm not good enough' Are those words true or fake?" Which can be what you're saying about their life under constant scrutiny. They even sit across from each other at the polygraph table, scrutinizing each other. However, as we near the end of the video, all of those things you were noticing, especially the things that have this material and fake symbolism, Twice begins to shed them. Chaeng throws her bags into the air and they're digitally removed. Sana picks up the one camera and all of the feeds go to the one of her handheld. Nayeon escapes the room with all the cameras. The fake, CGI room around Jeongyeon disappears. Tzuyu clears the mirror, removing any of the distortions like the kaleidoscope effect before. I think there are some dark undertones, but the overall message is about stepping out of that box you were forced into. Jeongyeon's pills came from the curtain that she ripped down. Maybe they're diet pills shes felt the need to take before because of the scrutiny she would face over gaining even one pound (I don't really want to speculate on that, its just a hypothetical and symbolism). Just what I got from the MV.

Fun fact: In February Twice will release a repackage of that japanese album with a new song 'Swing' and a new version of this MV called "The Truth Game"

You're right... I recall TWICE members' saying that we show our Fake Side outwardly while keeping the True Side to ourselves. You definitely picked up on what could be some vices Drugs definitely seems to be one of them Jeongyeon's scene had Safety Pins and Pills which were revealed when the gold chain curtain was ripped open, it's likely a metaphor of drugs being the safety net JiHyo's scene with the Diamonds is another one which could infer drugs, Diamonds are also called Ice, the other name for Blue Ice is Ecstasy. Although Mina seems to have the luxurious lifestyle, she wants to escape into a Virtual World. Is Dahyun dealing in Forgeries as that's generally the setting you have when you are a Collector. Is Chaeyoung selling Fake Purses as those Shopping bags almost hint that she's dealing in it, alternatively she could be a shopping addict Nayeon's scenes hint at Voyeurism, looking at the fake Television Sets in Sana's part, is she impersonating being a celebrity? Momo seems to find solace in what could be a Hippy Night Club shot Kaleidoscope are generally a hint at illusion which isn't seen in Tzuyu's part until she touches what we thought was a mirror. TWICE does tend to include duality for their characters in MVs, usually a contrast of the Girl Next Door Vs the Girl on Stage but there are some undertones in this MV where the tempo of the song questions which is Fake and True, the Music or the MV But I think at the end of the day, it's TWICE Production team being playful again.

Interesting take on the video, I was thinking Dahyuns scene was more about deception through the story of adam and eve as she had a painting that shows a similar scene and she held an apple. But the whole painting authenticity also fits. Twice has really stepped up in there music videos, before they were still good but weren't as thought provoking as they are now.
