What do you guys think about the final decision at the end? Would you have done it my way or would you prefer the show's way?

(also the file is gonna say ep6 but it's actually ep5!)

I think the route they chose was the more powerful/impactful ending for this subplot, given that we feel a lot of empathy for the pain and nobility of sacrifice, we feel pity and heartbreak for the bride and her loss of love. It's not happy, no, not for anyone, but at least she seems to come to terms with it in the end. From a writing perspective, the alternative would be happier for the couple, but would kinda lack the intensity and drama that her sacrifice brings. That said, I can't really say which way I would prefer, but I favour the sacrifice route slightly, if only because I felt moved by that, and I'm not certain that the groom choosing to sacrifice instead would be as impactful. The show builds on this bride's dilemma for most of the episode, and because they have already devoted a fair amount of time to her, one would also tend to feel empathy for her feelings/struggles better than with a character introduced barely minutes ago.

I had actually thought out my own ending immediately after knowing the Plot Twist and because you apparently want to know here it is: in my Version everything happens exactly as it was, except he wakes up alone in his Hospital room, without his Ring on and doesn't remember anything of the Limbo but knows something is terribly wrong. His Parents don't leave him alone for 1 second for the whole next week but the moment he is left alone, he sees no other option but to kill himself because he is just numb without her. The String of Fate has been cut though, so both die without being able to find each other in the Afterlife.

God I love this episode... and the way you seem so emotionally touched at the end of each one is soooo relatable. Okay so actually from a writing standpoint, since the theme of "death leaves someone behind" is so strong (Manwol is constantly left behind due to her lifespan, and now they have mentioned that Chanseong will be left behind when Manwol leaves), i think its tied with the story shown in the episode - I think they're trying to reinforce the idea that sometimes you need to let go of someone even if its hard, even if it makes you sad. in addition I feel like if Sumin had dragged the groom into the afterlife, she may have been treated as a vengeful spirit for technically killing someone - I'm not sure, just theorizing, but in that case she may have dodged a bullet. (Also seeing your reactions to this drama gives me life, and I love the way you explain cultural things like the view on marriage to viewers since as an overseas korean I always feel kind of frustrated when I see them but feel like non-koreans wouldnt understand the importance of something)

I've always thought IU was a good actor, but I really thought she shined in this drama. Down to the facial expressions and hand movements. I thought she did an excellent job in this role.
