Hey guys I’ve been away this weekend for KCON and I was going to resume videos today but I was greeted with this email by YouTube. They took down my first short film that was personal to me and tried to strike my channel.

I’m not even angry because I’m too busy crying and feeling sad. I was told this weekend at KCON that I could not find sponsors for my channel and that my channel growth had slowed because I was promoting LGBTQ content on my channel.

This fucking broke my heart to hear. I don’t want to change who I am. I don’t want to change what I love and promote. But this hurts me so much... I promise I’ll upload videos to Patreon tomorrow.

Seriously, I make basically NOTHING on YouTube Adsense. You guys are literally the only ones supporting me. I love you all, thank you.

Pick your fights. It's unfair and sad, but can you afford to lose a never-ending war against the giant that is YouTube? If I were you, I would continue to play their game for now, and hope the game-rules change along the way. It's not as fun, I know those shorts are your true passion, but you might have started too soon in the grand scheme of things... Part of the reason why I decided to become a patron was because I was worried that this would happen. So many of my favorite creators get their content taken down without violating any rules, and this is my way to still have access to that content and to still enjoy and support said content. Youtube ducking sucks and I hope this gets sorted quickly

Oh my God PD, I'm so sorry to see this and hear this. You deserve so much better. You work your ass off to bring us the best content. I can't believe this stuff over the LGBTQ. We support our LGBTQ community and are part of it. I'm just so angry for you. Dont ever change who you are. If you aren't true to yourself, your work, your life, your viewers and yourself will suffer. You can't bring quality content if your heart isn't in it. All the videos aside though as human you must continue to believe in yourself and pursue your passions in life. You can compromise content but you can not compromise who you are. We support you... we support and accept you for who you are. I'm glad we crossed your channel and connected with you. My daughter is pansexual and gender fluid... you help her as fan to fan, to feel some validation for several aspects of how music..visuals affect her. Like I'm bi, but you are someone outside of the house that makes her feel normal. She was verbally bullied a year ago and still faces a lot of prejudice. However people like you make her see her community is bigger than she thought. I could write more but I won't. I'm kinda terrible at really getting what I'm trying to say out... but essentially we love you and we want better than that for you. We appreciate what you do.

Unfortunately this is something that we still have to deal with when the content is lgbtq + related. Yes, there is a lot of support out there, but we can still find ourselves in situations like this. I know it can be like a punch in the face but you should keep doing what you love and show things the way you want them, because that's what helps make your art great. Hope you feel better and don't forget that your work is incredible and you have a lot of support here.

Look, don't take this as me siding with YouTube, but I feel like there was no way this was ACTUALLY manually reviewed. Most likely some shitbag reported the video just because there are assholes out there, and it got enough asshole reports where the YouTube algorithm went "4K Lesbian? Definitely porn." I’m so sorry this this happened 😡 what the hell. That’s completely ridiculous, why would someone say channel growth because you’re promoting LGBTQ content? No only can that not be true (because plenty of channels grow BECAUSE of promoting that content) but it’s just insulting. Completely unnecessary and inappropriate. Reading this honestly broke my heart, I instantly had to screenshot this and go tell my friends about it and they’re just as disgusted about it as I am. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community (bisexual), I’m ashamed by YouTubes actions. They happily let violence, gore, and even porn on YouTube, but LGBTQ is where they draw the line?😡

PD I'm so sorry that YT blocked your movie. As one of the many viewers who loved your movie I'm super sad :(. I hope this just makes you stronger and makes you want to do more of this kind of movies. Prejudice and discrimination are words that should not be used anymore but it seems there still people who think that being different is wrong. And by saying different is not in a bad way cuz we're all different in many many ways not only gender. Shame on YouTube. I don’t understand how it violated anything. So what if it’s LGBTQ+. There’s nothing wrong with it. You are hands down one of my favorite channels. I love all of the variety of content you upload and I was so happy to see you upload this. It breaks my heart and upsets me to see them take this down and try to give you a strike. I wouldn’t feel mad but I would definitely try to find a way either around it or fight it. I am pretty sure there has to be some company out there that will sponsor you and your content.
