It just feels unreal, and I had just been listening to untitled the day before this dropped, not knowing it would drop, and then being fully convinced someone was pulling a prank or it was fan made that I had to check the news to see oh it’s legit and actually click on it, you temper expectations bc people love to get excited too early or speculate grand stuff like them showing up at MAMA this year and it’s like ok everyone settle down it’s not real until it happens BUT THEN WE HAVE A REAL MV NOW AND IT FEELS UNREAL we get GD? On twt some VIP posted about the meaning for this song. Its CRAZY. But I cant find the tweet anymore 😭 Hope someone can break it down for you here because it will blow your mind 😭 he is such a genius. so happy he is back! Also I believe someone told me he is also one of the composer for the new babymon comeback "drip" I mean idk if it's true but the song is amazing so haha :) thanks for the reaction!

it blows my mind how subversive his very presence is in this MV, and in subtle ways - like the fact that he faces away from the camera most of the time, doesn't bother to lipsync for much of it, doesn't have a choreo... or rather the choreo is like 90% vibes and swag and his trademark goblin awkwardness, and it all feels SO authentic and fresh and completely him. DAMN, the king is back.

Damn… I did not think I would ever see the tag saying “G-Dragon” in a post of this Patreon, but it did happen!! To add one major fan fact to PD’s speech about who G-Dragon is… YG Ent. made a trademark for the term “G-Dragon/GD” in 2003 (so like 3 years before the BIGBANG debut), because Yang Hyun Suk knew what he was going to be capable of and he saw the BIG POTENTIAL he had. Regarding Power… I think this is the perfect embodiment of a pre-release song. I don’t mind it being repetitive, because the length suits it perfectly. It is focused on the lyrical aspect, which is full of rich lines and wordplays as he is known for. When it comes to the music video… I was thinking for a moment that it is really simple, but it is actually way more playful with its theme and approach than if it was full of high-end edits and big budget. But obviously then you have pre-release cases like Supernova, where you think they reached the limit, but then you see the Armaggedon music video and you go like: “THAT’S MONEY!!” But for his pre-release this approach was spot on! I guess that is it. It is stuck in my head, so I stopped playing APT. THAT OFTEN 😅😅, but I cannot compare these two songs obviously… Maybe… if DaeSung and TaeYang had a cameo there somehow, that would be the cherry on top. But… it is his comeback, so it makes sense it was about him only. Also… the fact it had no proper teasers or anything. A day before the release, he went live on his insta, where he played the whole song with crazy edits/filters made (I assume) only for that stream and then he ended it. What a “mic drop” move, well… as he says himself: “2세대 한정품이 세기의 완성품” (A limited edition of the second generation, a masterpiece of the century)… we cannot deny that, he is truly One Of A Kind!

Hey! I believe the "UBERMENSCH" GD mentions is a reference to the philosophy concept created by Nietzsche named the same way. It roughly translates to "Super-Man" or "Over-Man" in the sense that this man became the "ideal man" by overcoming all the human struggles to elevate himself and become the ideal example for everyone to follow, the one true genius everyone tries to emulate. Of course, in philosophy it all ties to religion and human existence, but I THINK in this context GD just refers to the concept to call himself the ONE TRUE IDOL, which... Fair. If someone can be considered the ultimate Idol, that's him!

Also… “Übermensch” might be the name of the album. It is a German word for Overman/Super-man, it s a concept in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. The flowers at the beginning could be for Still Life/Flower Road, but at the same time bellis are his thing/the thing people connect him with a lot, although the bellis of his always miss one part of “leaves” as it represent his brand PeaceMinusOne, which has its logo being the peace sign without the one line, because it is “minus one”. The metro scene… There is a map of lines of subways (metro map), where are random words (including Power) mentioned in numbered order, therefore it is most likely the tracklist.

The BIGBANG comeback (as 4 members only, therefore it was their chance to clear their name after SeungRi and Burning Sun…) was supposed to happen through Coachella 2020, but the FUCKING pandemic made it not happen, so the most likely album was not finished/released and then we only got Still Life as a form of goodbye in 2022, when they knew they did not have any more plans for the group and all members did not want to renew their contract with YG + as we know now T.O.P did not even want to be related to the Kpop/or in general Korean music scene (because of the weed thing and how the general public viewed him, which led to his attempt to overdose himself with pills), therefore he did not want to promote with the group/be considered as idol

Totally feel you in not believing that this would actually happen! Until the day before were he spoiled the full MV during an IG live Btw a recommendation: As promotion for this GD and Taeyang were guests on Daesung's talk show (ZIP DAESUNG on Youtube - episodes 28 and 29) and it is just so cool and touching to see the 3 together
