This ep is way better than their debut one for me ❤️ I liked it a lot

I agree that the B sides on this EP sound kind of strange and… hollow? Like when I listened all I could think about is how generic it felt. There’s nothing wrong with being generic and maybe unique sounding music is a personal preference but I just felt kind of bored listening to this. Its a very well made album but not for me 🥲

I think they're still finding themselves and their voices which tends to happen to most hybe groups imo. When i think back to early day enhypen and txt I also found their voices hard to distinguish partially because of how young they were and also due to hybes mixing nevertheless i really enjoy illits concept and will be tuning in to their future albums to see how they develop in their sound and confidence as singers.

I thought it was amazing :(

I think the produced and manufactured feeling comes down to how young they are, that they seemed more suited for different concepts on RUNext, and some had very little trainee time. Yunah, Minju, and Moka all trained for around 5-3 years or so. But Yunah and Minju feel like they have always had different concepts in mind for themselves, or just suit other concepts better. Moka feels like she can do really any concept tbh, but she does lack decent vocal ability. She's more of a performer. Iroha also seems to lack strong vocal ability and is more of a dance focused member. Wonhee was scouted for RUNext and only trained for 1 month. She has raw vocal talent and interesting visual, but I personally think she's still underdeveloped and finding her vocal color. Reminds me of Jake on I-Land; he had hardly any training and it was a bit hard to see his potential back then, but he has really grown and become recognizable on his own. I really do think ILLIT has a decent foundation, they just need time, and maybe BeLift should give them more opportunities to branch out into their own sound. I think Yunah suits a more mature type of concept (girl crush, elegant, etc), and Minju trained at YG for a long time. In her Lee Mujin Service episode she said she really likes R&B. I have thought since their debut that the concept and music itself is so good, but maybe having a good concept finalized and expecting members to just conform to the predetermined concept isn't always a good idea. They also lost a member between the show ending and debut, so I imagine that has caused some issues with group cohesiveness and such. TL;DR they are young, awkward, some members feel like they are being "forced" into a concept they aren't well versed in, and/or just have veryyy little trainee time that they are having to learn all of the things other idols already had down prior to debut. Remembering back to Enhypen's debut period, they also had similar issues of still growing into their own sound and color, plus basically all of their voices being mixed to the point you can't tell who is who on the track besides Heeseung and Jungwon.

I still remember ENHY’s debut era! I’m excited to see how this group continues to evolve and one day blows me away the same way ENHY did.

mini !

Yeah me too!! Enha have become basically my ult boy group, so I can’t wait to see how far ILLIT comes. They are like a diamond in the rough right now I think lol.

yessi

I really enjoyed this EP and also the mv for Tick-Tack is pretty fun

Tobi

Damn the way I was waiting for this reaction excitedly and did not expect this take on it lol. Well I guess everyone likes different stuff. Although I will say the Newjeans comparisons are tiring to hear as an illit fan, ah.. waiting for the day they can escape from that controversy

I really enjoy Illit's music, but its their personalities that made me a fan. I definitely recommend you check out some of their variety, either from their official YT or otherwise, it doesnt matter. I get your opinion about the music, but the members themselves are so genuine, you definitely fall in love with them that way.
