OMG YAY.. yes I was OBSESSED at first listen. It's been on repeat. jennie is my fav blackpink soloist so it was definitely worth the wait!! I also wished it was much longer when it ended haha but I also think it has a perfect length

I’m manifesting an extended version-the song eats but it could have easily had another verse and looped the pre-chorus again

I think her album is ready and it is going to be release soon. Rose full album is coming in December

This song had me hooked right from the start, but then with the dance break it started to lose me and then it suddenly ended, because it was not a dance “break” but more like a dance “end” 😅😅 It feels like as if this was a short version of a song yet to be released. Or a bigger teaser for an upcoming album, but as far as I know there is no official information to that, so… I don’t know… Since Lisa’s “after YG solo” I have this question on my mind: “How much of a Kpop song their solos will be?” Because Rockstar is an interesting blend the best of both worlds (Hannah Montana forever in my heart) and the music video saves its spot to be a Kpop release. But the rest feels strongly western focused music and video production. Although Jennie’s music video for Mantra has a strong western music video aspects, the song keeps its Kpop flavour! It reminds me of Lee Hyori’s days back then! Which… to be honest… would be really cool if Jennie became “today’s Lee Hyori”. Because Lisa will focus mainly on the western market. Rosé is hard to tell, but regardless of that, I think her solo might not be the “typical Kpop” even if she promotes with that in Korea. And with Jisoo I am not sure if she wants to focus on solo music career (and if she releases something, I am not sure how frequent it may be). Therefore having Jennie in the Kpop realm and becoming a soloist as Lee Hyori was, that would be awesome!! (By the way… I am aware all 3 of them signed with US labels too for their music promotions, but that does not have to mean they will focus on the western market only).

Short song time stream race you got me again ☠️ I complain about the trend but I listen nonstop to songs anyways — I’m so mad (not really) how short it is bc it’s so good and I want the anthem, I wish we got more badass lyrics too even knowing the chorus is great I want this pushed MORE, I think it does serve its purpose as a performance song but overall I’m just so excited at what jennies career is bc I want her to have her catalog and artistic ability PUSHED now that she can with this freedom, yes above all protect her health and do what feels best but even just her vocal ability, in the grand scheme of things, only a fraction i feel like has been shown just scratching the surface — I LOVED THAT SECOND VERSE BUT IM SAD WE ONLY GOT SO LITTLE, I’m looking forward to: what does a full JENNIE song, bridge, chorus, the whole thing sound like, there’s so many genres she hasn’t even touched yet I CANT WAIT FOR THE ALBUM, she felt so ALIVE and excited and free in this mv, I’m looking forward to getting to know who she is as an artist and what her style develops into

I really wish k-pop groups and soloists would start to release more title tracks that are above 3 minutes or even 4 minutes. my problem with songs that are around 2 minute is that they sound so repetitive to me. I want pre-chorouses, bridges, multiple verses and outros to be back

Love the Rush Hour reference haha

pmreez

OH Rush Hour like the movie haha. The little girl in the car singing in the back seat and the two dudes in LA traffic! Ic ould be wrong but it's so similar to the scene in the first Rush Hour movie where Soo young sings Mariah Carey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzgTctA6nFY
