yooyeon, sohyun, jiwoo, and i think hyerin all live at home (there are 4 of them). This actually caused like a small not even scandal when it was announced with the more nutzoid fans of the group saying the group dynamic was ruined bc they didn't live in the dorms which was stupid. There was even some idiotic "fan" who during a sign event stood in front of sohyun and turned his back on her (thank god they kicked him out of the event and banned him)

Definitely college is worse I’d say, bc although you may have more wiggle room time wise, how would you have the time to see professors during the day, and it’s so much more involved thinking and success wise, high school you could get away with route memorization but especially depending on the major you could flunk out of your classes in college if you’re absent enough or group projects? At least for high school the girls can go to performing arts schools where they kinda get lenience for being idols like in SOPA and the teachers know how to work around their schedule — but college is a whole different beast ☠️ BUT THAT IS TO SAY: it still seems incredibly difficult to be in middle school or high school while being an idol, not discounting that at all, in fact I’m so surprised when they aren’t dropping out bc idol is a full time job AND THEN SOME while being so young

I agree that it would be more difficult to be in high school as an idol than to be in college. At least it would have been for me. But they are (almost) all in Hanlim where most idols go to, so they'll probably have some arrangements that makes it easier. And members living outside the dorm is only a recent thing since Girls Never Die. It is said that they will be living in the dorm during main period of promotion, but can live outside otherwise. (But I do wonder, as all the beds are already filled by the others)

OIV is such a great introduction to all that goes on behind the scenes, was super excited for you to check it out! The managers are troopers! Luckily MODHAUS is doing pretty well and you can see some of the girls' reactions to their paychecks in SIGNALS, the utter disbelief is hilarious 😂 Back in july MH Co-Founder Joseph Baek talked about operating at a profit for the first time. "Expecting sales of about 10B won from the management business and 7B won from the platform [COSMO] business." 'COSMO: The Gate' is MODHAUS App for their digital photocards aka 'Objekts' and their fan votings aka 'Gravities' - for both ARTMS and tripleS. You can collect Objekts through various ways like scanning Photocards in albums, getting them at concerts or in the COSMO Shop on the app. And yes... they are NFTs... but they're nothing like NFTs you first think about. It helps a lot with you having your own collection and trading them through the COSMO app. You get a bunch of Objekts for free when you first download it. 'Gravites' are a chance for OURIIS and WAVs to have a say in the concept and production the groups. We vote on title tracks, unit formations, teaser concepts, holiday desinations and much more. For the "Perfomance unit Visionary Vision" we first voted on Hyerin as the leader and then all the members of the unit. I'll also just leave the Jaden x ARTMS interview here again, since i think it's worth watching. In the past when kpop idol contracts were much more slave contracts and idols lives were much more "controlled" compared to now, I think fans didn't like having managers live with the idols bc of the conception that they were spies/disciplinarians/etc. But honestly these days (like with your example about food) I think most responsible kpop companies do treat their idols with more freedom and maturity. That being said, if you have so many underage idols i actually think it's irresponsible NOT to have a manager living with them just from the mere fact that they can't even have/get certain things until they turn into adults (actual credit cards which is huge bc EVERYTHING is paid for on the phone in korea these days)

Yooyeon, Jiwoo, Hyerin, and Sohyun all live at their own place outside of promotions now however they still constantly visit the dorm and hangout with the members. During promotions they move back to the dorm with the rest of the members. This was a decision they made a few months back since these specific members required a bit more alone time than the rest. As someone who also prefers to have a lot of time to myself I can totally relate especially since they are in a 24 member group.

The whole premise of this show, obviously, is the lives of celebrities through the eyes of their managers. There have been a few (though not many) idol groups on this show and it's pretty fascinating which groups have more adult/overseer type managers, which ones have more friend type managers, which ones where it was obvious the company said you could/could not film certain things, what kind of "story" the kpop companies want to paint for their groups, etc. With this show and the Clean Freak Brian episode, its very obvious (and refreshing) that MODHAUS is very willing to just show the craziness of the group and not try and craft a pristine image for them (plus, allowing members to act as crazy as they want across all their variety shows they've been on, radio hits, etc) and show they're just a bunch of normal girls who are messy or loud. Even showing how all the girls looked without makeup on the way to the shop is like RARELY ever seen on tv It'd be fascinating to watch this episode then watch the Le Sserafilm episode of the Manager and you can just see and feel how much HYBE controlled the broadcast and showed literally nothing

Now that u are watching this i wish you would watch the SEVENTEEN episode too. Just maybe.. It was a few years back, i believe during HOME era but i really loved that episode. Never requested it since this show has quite lengthy videos and PD gets soo much to react everyday.

Watched pretty much all their content, even live streams, so i can answer your questions somewhat. About what is worse, high school or college. Though in college you have more freedom, the amount of studying required to pass would be pretty much impossible to combine, i think. I'm assuming that is why Yooyeon is on Hiatus from college, and she doesn't have to do much for college currently. I don't think she can currently comebine it, she has a lot of schedules and is in pretty much all cb's and a lot of variety appearances/web drama, ... Since some of them go to Hanlim where a lot of idols go, i'm pretty sure there are arrangements where they can take time away from school too. Some signals with Jiwoo and Soomin where they film signals at their school, sometimes their friends don't even seem to know when they are going to class. About them living apart. There was a signal like 6 months ago they announced some of them will live apart, it did cause some controversy in the fandom. In the recent episode with Bambam and Brian "240924 Cleaning Freak Brian : Episode 6", Yooyeon mentioned she often visits the dorm to show "loyalty". I do think there is an understanding that even if they live apart, they visit very often to make sure their bond stays intact.

I think being an idol while in high school is worse than in college. Yes, the material in college CAN be harder but it’s fully dependent on major and how you set up each semester. Some majors require more in person hours than others. That aside, being an idol while in high school would have a worse impact on your social life and potentially your social development. Being able to finish high school uninterrupted and then debuting as a college student > debuting as a high school student and potentially never going to college.

Im not sure how do modhaus financialy , but recently they bought/rent? a whole ass building. I guess they got the bling bling kaachinggg. I would like to apply as intern in modhaus just to learn the businesses. 😂

They indeed won Female Rookie of The Year for MAMA 2023, and right when it happened they dropped an OT16 performance video of Rising. That was a great night haha Since you're currently watching the Signals from the beginning, I wonder how trippy it was for you to see their current dorm rooms! They actually moved around quite a lot. Like others have already said, the four (Hyerin, Jiwoo, Yooyeon, and Sohyun) chose to live separately once this choice of freedom was given to the group a couple months ago. Those 4 chose and talked to Modhaus about it. It caused a whole stink with "fans" saying it'll ruin the chemistry but are you serious??? I'm not any less of a friend to those close to me just cuz we don't live under the same roof lol. If anything, good on Modhaus for caring about the well being of all members. It was explained that during down time or if they're not in a currently running promotion for a unit, those 4 would go back to their homes but during rehearsal/prep time for new units, concerts, etc, those members would go back to the dorms, as rehearsals may run into the very late night/early morning, it's easier location wise to just go back to the dorm. Originally those 4 were in the dorms shown for a while, but as the last 4 members were added, they made the decision around then. The manager did not live there before, that room was probably 2 of the member's or Sohyun's cuz I remember she had a solo room back then. Yooyeon has even mentioned on Fromm (msg app) that she's been at the dorm a lot cuz of prep for VV and Hachi (Japan Unit) for example lol. Since My Teenage Girl, Yooyeon was known for going to University, and as much as she wants to be an idol, I also comend her for not wanting to give up on her academic pursuits as well. As seen in the early Signals, Jiwoo and other members used to leave the HAUS and go back home for a week or so at a time, it wasn't a problem then??? Jiwoo just entered uni as well so makes sense. MODHAUS cares, they pay the members through their app and digital photocards *Objekts*. Obviously not all the profit comes from there but it's definitely a big contributing factor. I don't think you go into a project like this without being prepared to spend the money, luckily for them it's been working out!

Probably being in school is more difficult? We have all the maknae line plus Sion and Lynn at school (I'm not sure if Sullin too???) anyways that's 10 people out of 24. The four members not living at HAUS are Hyerin, Jiwoo, Yooyeon and Sohyun, only during non-promotion time, but this is recent, from GND era onwards. Just in case, Yooyeon and Jiwoo were part of My Teenage Girl (where CLASS:y was born), they even have a performance together in that show. And of course youknow Xinyu, Nien, Kotone are GP999 girls. And Chaewon is from Universe Tickcet (where UNIS was born). So all of them are our 'survival show' line. and..... VV debut is around 5 hours from the moment i'm writing this comment !!! PD's first comeback as a WAV!

For the members who are not living in the dorms (their own homes), they only do that on non-promotional periods. I believe once promotional period starts (if you belong to that unit) then you would need to live at the dorms. When this was first announced, a loud (but small) number of WAVs reacted negatively, saying that it will ruin the members’ chemistry and they will put out less content. But for me this is good for members’ mental and physical well-being. The hate for these people became so petty that one WAV blatantly ignored Sohyun at a fanmeet because she moved out of the HAUS.
