The shot of Rosalia’s lip ring intertwined with Lisa’s earring has me in a chokehold. New Woman really did sell me on Lisa as a soloist. She and Rosalia complimented each other in a way that far exceeded any expectations I had going in.

i heard that this sort of “literal” and repetitive shot music video is the director’s style (‘walk through the fire’ with the boots etc has a very literal representation in the video). they also tend to cut to repeats of a shot depending on the sounds in the song. this editing style really isnt my style either but i honestly think lisa’s performance and expression makes up for that personally

Lisa’s best song for sure. The video is so crazy. Rosalia having the second chorus was awesome I didn’t think that would happen and I loved it. It felt like Lisa and Rosalia not a feature which I loved.

I love Lisa's parts, I love Rosalia's part. I just don't love, that there is not transition at all from Rosalia's solo part into the pre-chorus. It sounds like two completely different songs. And that makes it hard to listen to the whole song in one go.

When it comes to Lisa’s solo music after Lalisa (or to say right now after leaving YG), I question a lot if and how much she wants to be a Kpop idol with her solo music. Mind you, I don’t care about the language. I would consider her solo to be Kpop even if it was in Thai, if it had proper Kpop features both in the music and in the video. Rockstar was music-wise on the borderline, but the music video showed there are a lot of Kpop aspects in it. With New Woman it truly feels like a song and music video by a western artist. By that I don’t mean to say anything bad. Good for her to be able to make it that big! It is just… I might not listen to her music that often as I might to the music of the rest of BLACKPINK members.
