I agree with you on the title track vs some of the b sides. My favorite songs for them always show their individual strengths , Hanbin's dancing , jiwoong flowery vocal and dancing expression, gunwook being all rounder, Taerae's vocal streches , Ricky being the vocal visual, Hao's impressive dance while I sing moments, Yujin's charm, Gyuvin's rapping and Matthew's aggressive side. From their title tracks it usually dilutes these parts and has a couple members shine but everyone else fades into the song. They are very successful at making anything work (survival show roots) but when they all shine it is so epic.

Soooo glad you reacted to the live stages. This has quickly become my favorite zb1 song and the choreo!!! Amazing Now that you mentioned it, I can definitely see the similarities between this and en garde (the bp stage with gyuvin, gunwook, hui, forgot other boy sorry). Something about the strength behind the choreo and the sort of dark aesthetic? i need to rewatch hot summer i barely remember that

interesting take about how some of zb1 songs are more "survival show" coded than others. and it's true that my fav songs from them fall under that category. after all, while they're all very talented and can work with anything, i'd rather see them excel at songs only they can do vs. doing well on excellent songs

there's a kill the romeo performance on musiccore that I really appreciate, it was one of the last KTR stages for the promotion period and at that point they really honed in on their facial acting, so the members come across very charismatically. you didn't watch it here but it's a good one to watch on your own!

Don’t get me wrong, I like ZB1’s fresh concept. But considering who are in this group, people like Ricky, Gunwook, Hanbin, Gyuvin, Yujin, Jiwoong, Hao, I feel like this genre is more their own style. Even Matthew and Taerae who fit the fresh concept the best rather do a darker concept than the fresh concept. I feel like they excel in these types of songs.

hao’s voice just really gets me all the time. during live stages, in the studio albums, in the recording booth… everything. but in kill the romeo 😭😭😭😭 he sounds INSAAANEEEE
