Yes, I was waiting for this!

I knew you would spit some 🔥 on the concept of greed and how Hinata’s desire to grow is not misplaced. I have reacted to other reactors watch this same episode and majority look at Hinata’s desire to evolve as selfish and detrimental to the team dynamic. I appreciate how you could see the big picture and validate Hinata’s ambitions. If Hinata can evolve individually as a player, the team will undoubtedly evolve as well. Thank you for sharing your insights. It was a refreshing take to say the least. I look forward to the next one!

Completely agreed! I think every team sport is like that... you cannot grow only with the team... if everyone's skills improve, then a team improvement can also be possible

I appreciate that analysis so much! This 'fight' really is what Hinata and Kageyama needed to to understand both themselves and each other and then work towards evolving their skills. Also love how Daichi trusts that they'll figure it out themselves and how coach doesn't completely dismiss Hinata's side but actually contemplates on it.

I’m not surprised at all that people have a pretty quick reaction to greed as being detrimental.

OH THE BREAKUP OOOOHHH THE BREAKUP IS HERE

Liv

The reaction when this breakup came out in the manga was never against Kageyama or Hinata the reaction was more so just eating up the drama the girls are fighting lol 🍿 I think it was just the pain of them finally being in a really good place in their relationship and the step to that next evolution and development as partners is a rocky road is what the fans saw —- especially bc Hinata is impulsive and the way in which he communicates (or lack thereof) for change is demanding which is reminiscent of Kageyama in his King days so he out of everyone is especially resistant to this behavior since he had the painful experience of “selfishness” and he carries that shame of character growth from quite recent events// Hinata is not “wrong” but you can see the characters that are resistant are the ones who are scared to lose and seeking stability bc they know how fresh the whole team is and they had last seasons stories of needing a stable whole team (ie Suga) the way the author wrote this arc is crazy and remains one of the favorite arcs is bc now that the team has come together as a TEAM the author puts them through change and trials to test the dynamic, pushing them to grow even tho it’s uncomfortable (EVERYONE gets character development and it’s so good)

I was so happy to see you react to this. This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes. As someone who has never disliked Kageyama I will say that while he made someone points I have always sided with Hinata for this particular fight. Kageyama, Suga, and Ukai are all setters and maybe them questioning him was done intentionally. As you said they were thinking short term. Hinata was being greedy and maybe a little selfish but he should be allowed that. Especially during practice matches. They wanted to continue to feed a bad habit that already proved to be ineffective for the most part. And of the quick was more consistent I would agree with them. I never saw an issue with how Hinata acted he is allowed to want to fight and not be complacent.
