Yeah everyone knows Oikawa has a terrible personality and we love that for him that he’s so petty 😂 BUT he’s not a bad guy, intimidating, but not a bad guy and how CATHARTIC to have them as rivals be able to do this, Kageyama is able to put aside his ego and go back to Oikawa to look to him as a mentor and even tho Oikawa knows he’s scared of Kageyama catching up he still gives his opinion and actual advice to be a better setter ITS JUST SO AHHHHH watching and reading haikyuu is getting so mad at the author for being so good LIKE HOW DID U GIVE MOMENTS I NEVER KNEW I WANTED WHY IS THIS SHOW SO BEAUTIFUL

Liv

I think what one of things that makes Haikyuu excel is the whole encompassing aspect to the story writing — personal and interpersonal relationships growing alongside the technical power/skills developing — yes the characters have a training montage and their individual mentality grows but knowing that training together requires change in the TEAM dynamic and how it should also affect their emotional relationships is just excellence, adding the DEPTH to the story /// Hinata and Kageyamas relationship as partners is put to the test, what happens when one person in a relationship grows or changes? Can the dynamic of the relationship really be the same as it was in the beginning? And the more challenging, real answer of NO is what I really appreciate from the author — change isn’t bad and relationships will and should evolve BUT ALSO this isn’t fixed over night and Kageyama and Hinata need time away from each other to come back to the table with what they have discovered on their own growth journeys to help strengthen their partnership ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AH

Ugh I love Oikawa. Such a conflicted, contradictory drama queen. I love it.
