I think another thing is that while yes it is set up for poisoning or manipulating with the grandfather, we all already know where it’s going that there’s a whole plot so it feels dragged out to see this older man isolated from his family, we already don’t trust her, the shunned brother still isnt allowed back, the daughter hasn’t had any developments or events Even if they do a reverse of oh she’s not actually evil or where they probably will add reasons for things she’s doing—it doesn’t change that the pacing wasn’t the best and if anything will hinder any twists hitting in the future
