Ruka said herself before that she is a big fan of 2NE1 and CL is her role model/the idol, who inspires her the most. So that comparison of yours is spot on! People discuss a lot the question: “Who is the main rapper?” For me both Ruka and Asa are the main rapper, it is so hard to compare them and it is really based on the rap style you prefer. Regarding Pharita… I recently read an interesting comparison of them to 2NE1 and how they feel more like a sister group to 2NE1 than BLACKPINK was. They mentioned there the comparion of Ruka to CL you made, but then also Pharita to Bom and the all in all vibe of both groups + the aspects of how much they perform with the 2NE1 Mash Up on their fan meets. And to be honest… it makes sense, considering BLACKPINK was mainly “Teddy’s group, which debuted under YG” rather than actually YG’s group as Baemon is. (I know Teddy took care of 2NE1 too, but back then it was only as their main producer, whereas with BLACKPINK it did feel like he was fully involved in everything they were related to, even in the Netflix documentary… Yang Hyun Suk is not there (I think) at all and Teddy all the time.) With the comparison of Pharita to Bom I wanted to say it might be the same case. Because with Bom early on we also did not get the same YG vibe from her as in case of other 2NE1 members. That is pretty much it from my side… Oh wait! In a few years, she will be the second core member (Ahyeon) of this group! Speaking of these two members… You noticed Ahyeon’s red hair (and Chiquita also dyed her hair). That is because the pre-release (for the full length album) is going to be released on the 1st of July, so they have already shot the MV for that, therefore the hair color change…
